This is one beautiful defenestration:
In the Oct. 10, 2016 call, from right after the Access Hollywood tape of Trump was leaked in the weeks leading up to the election, Ryan does not specify that he will never defend Trump on just the Access Hollywood tape—he says clearly he is done with Trump altogether.
“I am not going to defend Donald Trump—not now, not in the future,” Ryan says in the audio, obtained by Breitbart News and published here for the first time ever.
Now, Ryan—still the Speaker—has pushed now President Donald Trump to believe his healthcare legislation the American Health Care Act would repeal and replace Obamacare when it does not repeal Obamacare. Ryan has also, according to Trump ally Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), misled President Trump into believing that Ryan’s bill can pass Congress. Paul and others believe the bill is dead on arrival in the U.S. Senate since a number of GOP senators have come out against it, and there are serious questions about whether it can pass the House. This is the first major initiative that Trump has worked on with Ryan—and the fact it is going so poorly calls into question whether Speaker Ryan, the GOP’s failed 2012 vice presidential nominee who barely supported Trump at all in 2016, really understands how Trump won and how to win in general. …
“The President gave Ryan a chance,” one source close to the President said. “If he doesn’t get his act together soon, the President will have no choice but to step in and fix this on his own. He’s the best negotiator on the planet, and if this were his bill not Ryan’s it would not be this much of a mess.”
It’s not exactly a conspiracy theory that the main dividing line in the White House is between the MAGA revolutionaries Trump and Bannon, and the representatives of the GOP’s old neocon orthodoxies, Paul Ryan, Reince Priebus, and Mike Pence.
But they are not united. For instance, Mike Pence has long been a political opportunist, and can be expected gravitate towards the stronger force.
Paul Ryan, however, will always be a wrecker, riding The Donald to impose the GOP’s anti-working class agenda and ditching him soon afterwards.
Wouldn’t it be great if Bannon could twist in the shiv just as Ryancare faces its inevitable collapse?
Let the old GOP choke on its own retarded ideological obsessions. Replace Obamacare with a single-payer system once the dust settles. Move on to more important things, such as immigration, protectionism, and dismantling the neocon infrastructure.
Now, on top of all of this, this new audio file raises questions as to how loyal Ryan is to Trump politically—and is asking the new president to use precious political capital to push through legislation that seems arithmetically destined for congressional failure. That could doom or at least dampen other key elements of the Trump agenda, like tax reform, immigration reform, national security efforts, budgetary reforms, building up of the U.S. military, trade renegotiation and more.
As such, as Breitbart News has previously reported, there are now rumblings among House Republicans that they may want a replacement not just of Obamacare but a replacement of Paul Ryan as Speaker. A new Speaker, some argue, would make life much easier for President Trump as he moves forward with his agenda. So the argument goes, as some House GOP members have told Breitbart News, is that if healthcare is this rocky then tax reform, immigration, trade policy and other key Trump agenda items will be worse.
This is 7D chess – and most convenient, the bad guys are convinced Trump is playing checkers.
From the post title, I was hoping that the Donald has hired our guy Erdogan on a special three-month consulting contract to purge the CIA. After all, he’s the best in the world at purging intelligence agencies. Just imagine the reaction…
Replacing Obamacare with a single-payer system would be a feather in Republican’s hat in the same way that the “Eisenhower Interstate Highway System” is/was; the propaganda value of which they could mine for decades.
revenge on ryan was 100% guaranteed – good
Ryancare means repealing Obamacare—and replacing it with exactly the same thing! I suppose that meets the technical definition of repeal and replace, but it’s pretty irrelevant. It’s like a magician doing absolutely pointless magic. Imagine an illusionist with one ball and one cup on the table in front of him. The man begins his trick by to all appearances placing the ball under the cup, but unbeknownst to you he palms it instead. Next he lifts up the cup, using slight-of-hand to slip the palmed ball underneath it, thus “fooling” you into thinking the ball was exactly where you thought it was anyway.
The real trick here is Ryan trying to hoodwink the American people into thinking that something has been done about Obamacare when it clearly hasn’t. It’s failing miserably. Lou Dobbs is correct that Ryan should resign. If he doesn’t, he needs to be disappeared.
Stalin’s opponents also underestimated him because he wasn’t an intellectual like they were.
If Trump could get single-payer through congress, that’d be a major coup, virtually guaranteeing him. not only a second term, but and an honored place in history. I hope he heeds your advice.
I could never Paul Ryan anyway, so I wouldn’t be the least bit sad to see him go. He always struck me as a mini-Romney, which is the main reason why I didn’t vote in 2012.
Never thought about this, but it strikes me as true.
If he does, he had better demand and get spending cuts elsewhere in the welfare state in return. We do still have an enormous national debt, and the fed gov does still spend far more than it takes in every year without any end in sight until the collapse. This cannot continue.
For one thing, do non-citizens currently qualify for Medicaid, Medicare, or food stamps? If so, that has to stop ASAP. Use the savings as a small partial offset of the increased fed spending for the single-payer system.
Given his tax proposals, etc., what on earth makes you think The Donald would want single-payer? He clearly espouses the efficiency of the “market.” When he was campaigning (and Ryan was against him), he even thencalled for a national insurance market.
It will never happen, because American insurance corporations are too powerful, and Americans are too stupid. Americans are simply terrified at the idea of universal health care, that they might have top-notch modern health care at a half price, like in the rest of the First World. They rather would pay $1,000 a month of premiums, and further $10,000 of deductibles, only to get overpriced pills. They are very happy to give a chance to the medical and drug corporations to make even more money out of them. Remember, health care in America has nothing to do with health. It is very good business, second only to the illegal drug and arms trade. And all Americans, particularly the right-wing ones, have deep respect for business. Even if Trump wanted he couldn’t do that because his electorate have not chosen him to introduce any socialism. In no way Americans will allow the state to run health care, only the corporations can do that. The corporate interests are always sacrosanct in America.
To be frank, after I have discussed this a little bit and read some debates I lost any empathy to Americans when they claim they suffer from their wild-capitalist for-profit inflated health care system, Americans deserve every bit of it.
As I understand it if a legal immigrant has worked for 10 years it means he has earned enough credits and paid enough SocSec taxes to qualify for Medicare and pension.
For Medicaid and food stamps one must usually legally live for 5 years before becoming eligible. Though I do not think that food stamps are an exceptional generosity of the state, considering the difficulty of obtaining them and their small size.
Anatoly, although you must be too young to go to hospital frequently, but you have lived in the UK and the US for years, and now you live in Russia. So it would be nice if you write a comparison of health care in those three countries from your personal experience. As I understand in the US health care is very effective, but few can afford it in its fullest, in the UK it is affordable for everybody and quite as effective but overused and overcrowded, in Russia it is also in theory free (but you’ll pay out-of-pocket for it anyway) and somewhat affordable but ineffective.
Spoken like a man who has never had to deal with blacks.
The “stupid” things that Americans do all come from having to deal with/avoid blacks. We can’t have universal health care because then we would have to go get treatment at the same place that blacks get it.
Import 30 million blacks to Russia and see how long your universal healthcare system lasts.
