I am very happy to see that Guillaume Durocher has joined The Unz Review. Only the best people! Here is a short intro to what he’ll be writing about:
The key themes are readily apparent: detailed articles on the situation in France (immigration/nationalism), the EU, French Jews, etc, before then going into fascism/ancient philosophy, of no doubt less interest to Unz.
I often simply translate and relay interesting discussions and texts found in the French language: Tocqueville, Frederick the Great, Éric Zemmour, the Le Pens, French identitarians, Dominique Venner, Michel Houellebecq, Alain Soral, etc. Often my own coverage is the only stuff available in English on the activities and thinking of various French nationalists.
I also do analysis of the EU – with its intricacies and complexities – whenever there is an interesting development, e.g. Orbán, Visegrád, Italy, the EU elections.
You can browse his archives at Occidental Observer, Counter-Currents, and Radix.
I am currently in the very final stages of moving to my new apartment, so between that and a couple of gigs, I have had much less time to do serious blogging than I expected to. That said, I am happy to see that this semi-hiatus does not appear to have had a very negative effect on visitorship numbers. I expect to pick up pace within a week. There’s a lot to be done. Apart from blog posts I have been meaning to write (or publish) for a long time, such as a new series developing on some of the ideas on The Age of Malthusian Industrialism, a post on on global elite science production, and a post clarifying my various comments over the years on aliens and simulations, there’s also more practical issues to sort out, such as the long awaited mailing list and progress on meetup plans.

Some good and bad news from Germany.
Good News
the McRib (available year round in Germany) is now available as a chili cheese bacon variant. In addition to adding the chili-cheese-bacon, this special edition McRib removes the onions and pickles in favor of jalapenos.
News article: https://mcriblocator.com/blog/2018/11/01/new-mcrib-germany/
This comes hot on the heels of McDonald’s trio of interesting McRib variants in Guatemala and the reintroduction of the believed pressed pork sandwich in the United States.

Does anyone here like the TV show X-Files?
I didn’t see that many episodes of it before, so I started watching the first season last month.
Mythology about aliens and ghosts is a bit repetitive, but it’s still addictive.
They cleverly reverse sex norms, but they also reverse the external world: so the female heroine Scully is like a voice of 19th century logic and reason, while the hero Mulder is a superstitious old woman. Although in their fictional world, he is always right, and she is always wrong, so it ultimately it has a more anti-feminist message.
https://www6.putlockertv.to/watch/the-x-files-1.jvyr2/l14wl6
The movie was inverted, I think, with the woman pushing the UFO theory, and the guy skeptical.
At least the one movie I saw twenty years ago was like that. Maybe there were more movies?
She’s trying to be the “reasonable man” in every episode, and she is wrong in every episode.
It’s like writers of the show know that if they write an illogical world, then that’s the universe where the girl character would have to be a logical one.
I don’t have time yet, but Hungarian demographics hasn’t been turned around, unfortunately.
Density of the commieblocks are too low for me. I’m generally against the idea of Russia getting too close to China except to extract economic benefits, but if there’s one thing Russia should open its doors to, its Chinese architects and property developers. Hong Kong ones might be even better as they’re even more anthill-like.
On the topic of Russian-Chinese trade: The fact that Russia is like the third world states relying on Chinese technology shows you how much investments Russia really needs in its technology sector.
Here’s some random ramblings I have related to Russia and geopolitics:
Russia overall will stay in its current form and then likely take off around mid 2020s, especially if a mixture of Orban-type nationalism and the likes of Kudrin at the reigns of the economy and international trade happens post-Putin. This should also be when Moscow and SPB fully SWPL-ize, and the milioniki gorods get their makeovers to be on par with Moscow. As the Sovoks die off, Russia will become a high growth, investment friendly, modernized/SWPL country. Expect all countries not in the Blue Empire to lift sanctions against Russia, and its reputation culturally and economically to soar even more as the US under the Blue Empire further weakens.
I expect the US and China to be locked in a full-blown Cold War in another decade. What worries me is that after a good run in the 20th century, the Red Empire will completely fizzle out next decade and the 21st century US will be represented by the Blue Empire with the Red Empire amounting to no more than an Opposition Bloc controlling the white majority Middle American countryside.
The Blue Empire is mortally opposed to Russia no matter what in the same way how the Red Empire sees Iran. No country will be treated worse than Russia by the Blue Empire. Even China will be able to have economic relations and conduct normal diplomatic relations with the Blue Empire albeit in a tense, sanctioned environment; the same thing cannot be said of Russia, so Russia might have to buckle up.
Europe will be interesting. This will be where the nationalists duke it out with the Blue Empire. It will likely be bloody and as of now, I can’t really tell how far the Blue Empire will push; they might in one fell swoop take over the V4, or nationalists take over France and Germany in the other extreme. Russia needs to heavily push nationalism in Europe, and actually be a representative European nationalist country. Extreme Russophobia in the Blue Empire territories hopefully means that the richest Russians stop bleeding over to London, NYC, Los Angeles, and Miami.
I ‘m only watching now the first season which is from 1993. I’m going to watch the film in order.
In the first season, it’s sadistically show her trying to be a man, and being wrong every episode. That’s one of the main pleasures for the people which write this show.
And then sometimes she has a breakdown while in her underwear and becomes superstitious, and then she’s still wrong.
Don’t worry, antihill height is raising each year.
I agree, see my comment there.
Real TFR more or less = desired TFR minus 0.5 children in developed countries, plus minus a couple tenths of a percent. This suggests you really need to raise the desired TFR, which you can do by increasing “breeders” as a percentage of the population (will take a couple of centuries… though I suppose genetic editing can accelerate that), or pro-natalism propaganda (e.g. perhaps steps as simple as cajoling companies into featuring ads of happy families with five children as opposed to 1-2 children?).
Artificial wombs will solve the problem far more soon.
The moment they are available in any significant number, then fertility rate will increase dramatically. Imagine how much easier it will be. 45 year old businesswomen, will be ordering two children suddenly.

One of my readers added:
“Separatists” of course are any perceived Russian sympathizers in the Ukrainian population.
Word has gotten around. Some other articles on that very subject:
https://www.rferl.org/a/azov-ukraine-s-most-prominent-ultranationalist-group-sets-its-sights-on-u-s-europe/29600564.html
http://www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/ukrainealert/ukraine-s-got-a-real-problem-with-far-right-violence-and-no-rt-didn-t-write-this-headline
Matters like this can get quickly de-emphasized. As far back as the 1970s, Western mass media ran pieces on Albanian nationalist violence in Kosovo. Shortly after an internationally brokered Kosovo ceasefire in 1998, Serb teens were killed in a terrorist attack at a club like locale in Kosovo. These factors all got downplayed when Yugoslavia responded.
Much different from when some other countries retaliate in instances that include a good amount of collateral damage.
The church situation in Ukraine has the potential for greater conflict.
Scully is also the voice of traditional religion, while Mulder is the voice of desperate esoterica. It’s a show with interesting dynamics not always in line with the rest of the TV world, which is a good thing as far as it goes.
The felons voting in FL story is a great example of the general powerlessness Trump has shown. This is an absolute disaster and makes it that much harder to win this essential state. If Trump’s backers really had power this wouldn’t have happened. The administration is increasingly hemmed in, and it was already quite weak.
I didn’t see the film but I vaguely think at that point Mulder may have passed on further into believing that the aliens are fakes in an even more wild conspiracy than he had believed in up to then. And by that time Scully can no longer be entirely skeptical of what the show calls (iirc) “extreme possibilities” because that would no longer make much rational sense.
Some pertinent points to that subject omitted in the above noted article.
Russia’s WW I action involved launching an offensive strike into Germany early into that war – when it wasn’t ready to do so. Imagine the USSR attempting to do such in 1941 or before.
It has said that Stalin’s reluctance to confront Germany prior to June 22, 1941, was motivated by what had happened to Russia in WW I. As for WW I, Max Hastings believes that the outcome for Russia would’ve been better if that war had begun at least two years later.
In WW I, Russia fought effectively against the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian forces. The timing of when WW I began and how Russia fought that war had a devastating effect on the country.

Here is a video. While Western children are learning about white privilege this is happening in Ukraine:
That having been said, it’s exaggeration to state that these camps or parades are commonplace. The party sponsoring the camp is polling at 3.5%, other far right parties can double that total.
Haven’t watched since the 90s. Some of the shows were interesting, but I found the alien conspiracies to have been boring eventually.
As I mentioned previously, the Red Empire, which was the ruling faction of America from the end of WW2 up until around 9/11, had a very good run, running an impressive empire. Trump is its last hurrah, its last gasp of breath, before it dies and hands over the reigns of the American Empire fully to the Blue Empire. Being the last gasp of breath, of course Trump doesn’t have that much power. The botched Iraq War was probably the last empire adventure of the Red Empire, a rather unseemly end to one of the largest and most prosperous empires of the 20th century.
Arguably the official coming out party of the Blue Empire was the Ukrainian Crisis and the Migrant Invasion which happened simultaneously and can be seen as its first foreign adventure. The EU is the largest and main colony of the Blue Empire. The earlier dismantling of Apartheid and the War Against Serbia can also be seen as Blue Empire operations.
In the 2020s, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Texas will all be gone, either deep blue or at least consistently purple. Now that the Blue Empire pretty much thoroughly took over Nashville with Amazon’s latest announcement, Tennessee will be under their control too by the 2030s. The “nationalist America” aka Red Empire, which may or may not be part of the Republican Party in the future, will end up controlling no more than a dozen or so sparsely populated states and around 100 seats in the House, if that, for most of the 21st century.
I remember Karlin has talked about how in his decade in America, he noticed how American society has become more “Europeanized”. The current and ongoing wave of improvements in American fashion, food quality, and urban renewal/gentrification represents the tastes of the new Blue Empire that’s in the process of taking over, and what he witnessed was the first noticeable steps of the change of guard. Likewise, the ongoing Sunbelt/Mountain West economic boom that has now reached states like Tennessee, Idaho, and South Carolina is just Blue Empire effectively using nonviolent methods successfully to overthrow the Red Empire from its own territory.
Top 10 US, CN and IN State/Province/SAR GDP PPP per capita chart, data from IMF 2017 and Wikipedia. The distributions for China and India are skewed due to state/province/SAR inequality and they drop off very quickly. HongKong and Macao data are from 2016.

GDP PPP per capita vs IQ
http://i63.tinypic.com/2vnfk0l.png
It is interesting that the slopes for US and CN are about the same but with different intercepts which might be caused by geography, culture, or times with free market economy.
While the EU doesn’t count as they are Blue America colonial administrators, as the Blue Empire controls America, one country that should be very happy about this should be Iran. Expect US-Iran relations to be normalized within our lifetimes. If there’s one country in the Islamic World that the Blue Empire can convince its civilians to go fully onboard with the “liberal democratic” bugmen ideology, its Iran. I expect Iran to play a role for Blue America in the Middle East like what Turkey has played for the Red Empire up until very recently.
Taiwan and South Korea will probably their designated attack dogs in Asia. Japan on the other hand has the chance to declare independence and get their balls back in this quagmire.

I love my nation.
“Ron Unz: Hardline GOP anti-immigrant rhetoric exchanges fleeting electoral gains for long-term political oblivion”
As usual, Unz comes to precisely the opposite of the truth on key points. Relative to the 2016 presidential vote (the most relevant comparison), Hispanics were the only major demographic to swing TOWARDS CRUZ (the Hispanic vote was largely unchanged from the 2012 Senate race, but swung bigly towards Abbot relative to 2014, despite Abbot doing worse in TX overall due to White suburbanite swings). Rather, the people who nearly allowed Bob O’Rourke to win were lily-White suburbanites. In contrast, Romney performed substantially worse with Hispanics than McCain, but resulted in Texas trending R relative to 2008 due to improvements in the White vote.
It is true, though, as Unz says, that demographic replacement in California resulted in the 1968 Latino student protests becoming more prominent in the state’s memory than the 1992 LA riots.
“Texas could go Democrat in 2020 if upsurge in Latino enthusiasm continues”
The problem Trump created for the TX GOP isn’t with Latinos. Will Hurd, if you recall, sadly won(?) while Sessions and Culberson both lost big.
“Jewish groups and George Soros helped pass amendment to give voting rights to felons in swing state Florida”
Sorry, but you can’t blame Soros for brainless morons in Florida being brainless. The amendment required 60% of the vote to pass. In comparison, Nelson and Gillum both lost.
These groups have disproportionate influence on account of a fear factor dynamic.
This was evident right after the coup against Yanukovych, when a disproportionate number of Svoboda members got lead appointments in the Yatsenyuk-Turchynov regime. At the time, these thugs stood outside the government building where the decision-making process was underway. Worldwide media showed people coming out of that meeting to ask the crowd who should get appointed? It was clearly not a crowd willing to tolerantly accept the opposite of Svoboda and Right Sector preferences.
Thereafter, some folks who previously didn’t appear so nationalist (like Poroshenko) have taken up unnecessarily provocative actions that are in line with the extremists.
If it’s so inevitable that the more established UOC will wither away, then there’s no need to take overtly blatant action against it.
This one reminds me a bit of Eliot Higgins:

What the arm chair cyber security experts have yet to successfully refute –
The DNC server at issue was never turned over for a review and is likely now in pieces to be never reviewed.
The DNC’s cyber security firm CrowdStrike, is linked with the anti-Russian leaning Atlantic Council. CrowdStrike’s stated medium confidence claim that Fancy Bear is run by Russian military intelligence is suspect. Fancy Bear has included misspelled Cyrillic words, indicating a non-fluent Russian speaker involvement.
On the one hand, we’re told that Russia has sophisticated cyber security means. On the other, we’re told that their hack on the DNC was primitively done. There’s also the ability of some to successfully present a given source of sending something out that wasn’t actually done by the aforementioned source.
“Russia” as such isn’t monolithic. As is true with the US and other countries, Russia has folks who do things in cyber without the knowledge and/or approval of the Kremlin.
Some of the presented so-called evidence of Russian meddling indicates instances like a venue that attempts to reach out to a broad spectrum for the likely purpose of getting more internet hits and better placement for potential advertising sales. This is done by carrying material that can be reasonably deemed as pro and anti-Trump, as well as pro and anti-Clinton.
In any event, the so-called FaceBook evidence of Russian meddling (whether government and/or non-government involved) had no impact on the outcome of the 2016 US presidential election.
Meantime, when compared to Russia, the US has the greater record of meddling in the internal affairs of other countries.

Probably the correct answer “because the Germans like it”
Die Grünen are just the new SPD shorn of labor unions, who are sticking with the old SPD.
If you truly loved your nation you would not be supporting a regime that wants it dead.
Those protests mean nothing, Poland is totally cucked out, read the earlier post here about the “Blue nation” that now is the USA, those people see you as useful idiots for their campaign for Russia, once that is over what do you think will happen to you?
The Germans knew that. That’s why they struck first. They realized time was not on their side.
It was a tranny who ratted on the boys in the prom photo, what a surprise.
1/2 of your nation hated it.
People vote for these parties because they promise legalisation of weed, I know I do. Legalise it already!
Certain Russian youtuber calls this “Tsiganifikatsiya”…
It’s a shame that they use Corbusian urban planning; scattering them randomly in what is supposrd to be green space, but is essentially a baron field surrounded by roads. It seems to give the worst of both worlds, high denisity living… in the middle of nowhere. If they built then up to and along the roads in a traditional urban layout with purpose built and landscaped parks and squares every so often, they’d have even higer denisty and be more pleasant.
Eventually what will happen is that Poland will have to fully adopt Blue policies socially and domestically in exchange for US troops and “swine nationalism” directed against Russia. Ditto for Ukraine.
Poland will likely yet again be a battleground with the possibility of turning bloody anytime, this time between nationalism and the Blue Empire, especially if Fort Trump gets the green light. A good chunk of the “educated” Polish youth in the cities are likely already fully on the “Blue Train” and keep in mind that Poland is not only already in the EU and NATO but also Schengen.
On the other hand, there’s still a large religious and nationalist undercurrent to Polish society that probably still carries on strong with young Polish men especially in the smaller cities and towns. They will probably not simply roll over for Poland to be 20% nonwhite, 10% Islamic LGBT nation and also seems to be mostly neutral/lukewarm towards Russia, which is a good sign that Russia should take advantage of.
Anatoly,
Your Russia section is full of links to Moscow Times, Ben Aris, Nikolas Gvosdev etc. Once again, I want to take an issue with you analysing Russia based on predominantly Western (and Russophobic) sources. You end up internalising their bias, and the quality of your writing output suffers as a result.
Also, note that most of the mainstream politicians in Ukraine do not appear to have any support to write home about. For instance, the favourite in presidential election, Tymoshenko is favoured by only 13% of the respondents.
https://www.kiis.com.ua/?lang=ukr&cat=reports&id=799&page=1&t=1
You have to also note that most Ukrainian parties are amorphous oligarchical projects. What is the ideology of Yulia Tymoshenko for instance? These groups are prone to support variety of radical nationalist policies, and even have people in their ranks, who have opinions not very different from fashiks in Svoboda.
Pointing out Svoboda’s low polling numbers is a classic tactic of those, who would like to deny Ukraine has a far right problem. But also Svoboda is not the only group, there are groups like Azov and C14, who have a clear support of the Ministry of Interior.

By the way, can you imagine a camp, which teaches kids to kill another nationality in any normal country? Only in a country which has PTSD from a failed economic transition, where the government clearly depends upon fascistic ton ton macoutes to keep the people in line, is this possible.
I am sure you guys can all relate to frustrating commenting experiences involving morons so stupid they don’t understand they’re wrong.

Search for “Genrick Yagoda”…some poor fool who doesn’t know what retained earnings are.
They are quite unrealistic.
Who can explain-why the Germans support such a policy (and the green party is super popular)? In St. Petersburg, the entry of migrants from Central Asia is supported by those who use hired labor. The rest are against migrants. Why Germany is so different from Russia in this matter, (the motivation of people should be the same)?
I enjoyed from what I remember as a teenager. Gillian Anderson is still quite beautiful even now. Obviously not on the level The Sopranos, Cracker, The Wire or Dekalog, but not a bad show.
How many layers of retardation can one unpack in a single post?
The Greens are obviously fanatically anti white, pro mass immigration, pro censorship, pro police state, etc. However what are they when it comes to foreign policy, would they support belligerence against Russia and China, are they going to support a European army and would they support using it against Poland or Hungary for example?
Four responses to my initial comment, and all of them focusing on the Green Party.
Does no one else love the McRib? 🙁
Well, while traveling in Germany, I found that eating at expensive restaurants is more profitable (in terms of spending money) than eating at McDonald’s.
But if I (by force of fate) ever get to McDonald’s again, I will eat McRib to find out what it is.
Greens are good because they are so bad.
They weaken the old parties who have outlived their usefulness.

That is de facto an unconditional basic income.
It would be unsustainable, but IMO preferable to the status quo.
If open border cannot be closed, it is better that German nationals exploit the welfare system as much as possible before it breaks rather than work for the system just because they can work.
There are like 4 mainstream candidates plus two pro-Russian parties.
I pointed out that Svoboda’s support can be doubled if you want to include support for all far right parties.
Love how pro-Russian nationalists discover how great American leftists are when the latter write about Ukraine.
You prefer Ukraine to be a normal country like Germany. I bet if Poland, Hungary, or Croatia had similar problems they would have similar camps.

Many Germans are self flagellating for Adolf and his crimes. They are also trained by the education system to essentially hate themselves. This is a perfect breeding ground for leftists, who have no doubt occupied the universities, and the media.
In Russia, the education system clearly does not produce self hating leftist drecks. But there is another problem, unlike the Germans, the Russian voter cannot vote for something like AfD, and would not be asked if he wants a horde of Tajiks and Uzbeks in his city.
Tajikistan apparently depends on gastarbeiters economically, and Russia is Tajikistan’s protector, which keeps the local post-Soviet regime from being replaced by Islamists.
They have less reason to vote for such a party.

Wanna embarrass yourself again trying to talk about my sources? What are my sources, tell us you schmuck?! Would I get a better idea about Ukraine if I go and visit Odessa or Kiev? I actually might do that soon.
I have seen videos of C14 coming to courtrooms and disrupting a hearing. We have evidence that C14 is supported by Avakov’s ministry. Azov is also supported by the same ministry.

First few series of the X Files were very good, like the Outer Limits. X Files was huge in the early nineties. Went on too long and got too focused on UFO stories rather than just weird stuff.

Note the South African flag behind him, this video is a good example of the death of Western civilization. A childless pathetic old drunk who is supposed to be the head of Europe, Europe is dead and its future is African.

I lucked out on stretch marks (genetic cause my female relatives don’t have them), morning sickness (random chance with about 25% probability) and Twinkie obsession, but had severe eczema, adult acne and excessive sweating. Also, epidural anesthesia is a blessing but far from perfect. Repeat it all? Many women say no, even if they love babies and wouldn’t mind having more.
But the worst thing of all is premature birth – it happens at random (more often to teenaged and poor mothers, but no age bracket or wealth may guarantee it won’t happen to you) and can be disastrous for baby’s health. Here’s a horror story of a two months early birth that began on a remote military base in Alaska. Thankfully with a happy ending:

That risk would be eliminated by artificial wombs, for those who choose them, like polio was eliminated by vaccine. It really makes that possible medical development a noble cause saving human lives, not just vanity project for women who want to preserve their figures. I’d be all for it if it already existed and was safe enough.
Expect the local conspirology team to come up and explain what it means. Satanic or Masonic symbol? Zionist signal? Message to aliens?

Stuff like this makes me sick to my stomach.
‘ton ton macoutes’*
*the Haitian mythological bogeyman, Tonton Macoute (“Uncle Gunnysack”), who kidnaps and punishes unruly children by snaring them in a gunny sack (French: macoute) and carrying them off to be consumed at breakfast.[7][8]
I’m interested in hearing more about your ‘Tonton Macoutes’ being hired by Avokov to keep order in the courtrooms of Ukraine? Even for lunch??…
This is all pretty much nonsense.
Indian women would plop out a baby while working in the fields, wrap it in blankets, then go on working.
This is just an example of the West’s negative attitude towards natural processes.
It’s the same attitude that makes everyone takes painkillers for the slightest aches and pains – I cannot remember the last time I took a painkiller – and rushed to the doctors to get antibiotics for nothing.
X-Files treated Mulder sadistically as well. Killed his sister, mother, phony father, had the cigarette smoking chief villain be his bad dad who it turns out faked the Apollo lunar landings Fox had loved since boyhood.. No one believed him not even Scully and he had no friends. A Tragic life.
I’m not a woman, but pregnancy is a vacation compared to what comes after. Complaining about the easy part is very silly.
It’s not so much “The West”. Look at birth rates in Japan and South Korea.
It has to do with industrialization, urbanization, and also class.
Despite the widespread availability of birth control and legalized infanticide, working class women still get knocked up at young ages like their grandmothers did (though their families fall apart unfortunately). And they go right on working.
“Indian women would plop out a baby while working in the fields”
And have 50% or more infant mortality not counting miscarriages. Too bad you mother did not plop you out somewhere in the fields.
For sure, there’re qualitatively other options out there.
Not necessarily. It depends completely on the woman. Some women have extreme nausea during pregnancy, so severe it makes them want to die. They can easily lose 20-50 pounds during pregnancy. Obviously, this protects pregnant women from food poisoning hat could kill their baby, but it can also kill them f they can’t keep down enough water to stay hydrated. Even women who don’t have these extreme symptoms can easily be sick to the point of misery throughout the entire nine months. I’m sure this is under genetic control, and like everything else, the genes will be found eventually.

The woman doesn’t feel the pain, so doesn’t know when to push. The baby is not coming out, so the doctors decide for a C-section. I know a number of such stories.
I’d agree, its more modernity and level of development than just the West. But those things are also an indication of how Westernized a society is.
My point is that tolerance for pain and discomfort is far more a question of attitude that we realize.
Pain is less “intrinsic” than we realize. I’ve discovered this time and again in my travels and my life.
Pain is 50% a spontaneous biological reaction over which we have no control, and 50% determined by our attitude towards it, whether we accept it or fight it, think its natural or something that must be eliminated, etc. (The more you fight pain and don’t accept it as natural, the worse it is)
Today, we have an exclusive focus on the objective aspect of life and tend to ignore the subjective – however, the subjective and objective are inter-fused. Our culture is much weaker for not recognizing this.
Our culture teaches us to believe that pain is entirely an objective fact, and something to be rejected and eliminated at first sight. The result is that we actually feel more pain than our ancestors did, and can bear it less. How many of us rush to the medicine cabinet at the first sign of a headache that an Indian would hardly notice.
Our culture also teaches us that danger is entirely objective and something to be entirely eliminated. The result is a mass anxiety epidemic – which, of course, necessitates the use of pills to “solve”.
The more we regard life as a problem to be “solved” – in the words of Daniel Chieh – rather than something to be accepted and gone along with, the more unbearable and problematic life becomes – necessitating, of course, ever more “solutions”.
I don’t disagree with what you write but with respect to early pregnancy this is more a matter of impulse control and cultural habituation. Working class women get knocked up young because they find it harder to resist sex, find it harder to use birth control regularly, and because all the women around them get knocked up routinely it doesn’t seem like a big deal to them.
Meanwhile women in the middle and upper classes not only have greater impulse control, but are constantly conditioned from a very young age about how awful it is to get pregnant since it will allegedly ruin their futures.
And granted, having a baby with the wrong man WILL ruin a woman’s future as far as relationships go. Hence why the church in days of old took a very stern line on this question.
Then the epidural was not dosed correctly. I’ve had several. A good epidural will leave the woman with enough pain to know when to push with overwhelming her. A bad (overdosed) epidural can indeed have the effect you describe.
Since this is an open thread, am I just imagining things, or do cartoon villains tend to have exaggerated masculine facial features?

That seems correct to me.
Responsibility and conscientiousness is probably one of those things you can have too much of, and the way it is so celebrated in on the alt right seems like a basic mistake to me.
Although we tend to think of civilizational decline as an increase in chaos, I think it is plausible to see it as an increase in conscientuiusness – i.e a decrease in spontaneity and vitality. Today, we seem to be dying of conscientiousness.
A vital civilization probably depends on a good balance between the spontaneous emotional side of life – the vital side of life – and the rational responsible side of life – the control factor.
A society that is overloaded on the control factor is not one that has any vitality, or can survive.

It’s not surprising that the ancients viewed history as cyclical rather than a continuous process of uplift.
Ever get the uncomfortable feeling that we’ve been here before?
The obesity epidemic can also be attributed to our intolerance of discomfort.
We believe hunger is unnatural and must be eliminated. So we search for the right kind of diet that can eliminate this unnatural thing called hunger, because discomfort is always unnatural and can never be accepted. (In our modern culture)
Since there is no such diet and moderate hunger is actually perfectly natural, we waste our time on keto diets and the futile search for a “solution” to hunger – instead of just accepting that moderate hunger is perfectly natural, no big deal, and should be accepted and gone alone with rather than “solved”.
The only major exception I can think of off the top of my head is Thor-Loki, both hot.

Agree to an extent, but I suspect that our ancestors went hungry during parts of the year when they didn’t have to do much work requiring physical energy and alertness.
You’re not constantly hungry on an LCHF diet. You get hungry and then you eat a real meal. Then you’re not hungry for six hours. And the hunger you do experience after six hours doesn’t cause you physical pain or mental anguish. It’s no big deal to just go another six hours…or even as much as 48 hours. Can you think of anything less modern in diet than rejecting the past ten thousand years and eating as cavemen did?
That our agricultural ancestors didn’t get as fat is down to the fact that their grains weren’t like ours and their bodies were constantly hard at work. They didn’t have the time to have “snacks”. It was leftovers at sunrise, a hearty supper after six hours in the field, and then a light dinner after another six hours in the field. And, probably, a good amount of alcohol.
Now people don’t just eat to relieve hunger, but to relieve boredom. People mindlessly eat chips, crackers, pretzels, etc. just because they have nothing to do. Not only did people have something to do in the past, but these products were not available at all.
Absolutely. I am a big fan of the cyclical theory of history.
Likewise, mediating betweem pairs of opposites rather than definitively establishing the one and only “good” side ( masculinity is good, but in pure form you get the boorish thug, balanced by femininity you get the ideal of the English gentleman, strong and capable but gentle and kind, fashionable and refined, wearing alligator shoes and enjoying Mcrib sandwiches)
Cycles of various kinds of length and type seem built into the fabric of reality – your description above seems to describe cycles that are defined by the character of existence itself. This is not something that can be “solved” – and a society based on a search for a definitive solution to the basic character of existence is delusional.
Rather, we should manage and finesse these issues.
I mean no disrespect, but I find it rather ironic that you are using your very Western technology to glorify Oriental fatalism.
😉
That would make sense. Certainly there were feasts and fast days even in primitive societies – so cycles of hunger and over-fullness seem natural as well.
In this case, him being the bad guy was one of the main twists in that movie.
I definitely agree that today people eat to relieve boredom – I argue this myself a lot. And that’s of course a huge factor in the obesity epidemic, maybe the decisive factor. Boredom should be accepted as natural too – we don’t always need to be titilated.
As for the keto diet or low carb, traditional diets of the past several thousands of years of agriculture civilization kept us thin with lots of carbs. Plus I’ve visited Japan a lot – they eat a pretty awful modern diet of junk food, I think Tokyo has the most McDonald’s in the world, vending machines selling candy everywhere, and are thin and fashionable.
I once did an informal survey of countries that were reasonably thin in modern conditions – Japan, France, Scandinavian countries, Italy, Thailand, etc – all were carb heavy. The common factors I found among with was a highly developed aesthetic sense and concern for beauty and a stronger sense of tradition (going along with nature rather than seeing life as a problem to be solved scientifically).
But this was just my very unscientific informal survey.
I’m not against keto and low carb if people want yo do to for aesthetic reasons or whatever. I just wanted to point out that hunger, discomfort, and the like are not problems to be solved but natural parts of life to be accepted and managed.
Well, since it’s around I mightt as well use it to try and cancel out its worse effects 🙂
The best use of technology would be to limit its worse effects.
You’re right. I shoulda said Spoiler alert!
I don’t think this is quite correct. First of all, agricultural civilizations actually have a tremendous amount of idle time, especially in the winter. I think it was calculated that in the Middle Ages roughly half the year was off work, with all the festival’s and saints days.
Also, aristocrats were thinner than peasants – the tall, thin, English lord was a stock figure, opposed to the burly, stocky peasant.
Finally, certain modern countries have managed to stay quite thin eating high carb under modern conditions.
Anyways, I am certainly not opposed to keto but regard it as primarily an aesthetic choice – which is certainly as valid a choice as any. And if some people feel better on it, great.
The new vice president of Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz, the German federal domestic security agency is Sinan Selen, a Turkish immigrant born in Istanbul and current security chief of the TUI tourism company.
He does not seem to be unqualified.
OTOH, he is only supposed to get the job because his predecessor was promoted after Antifa-backed fake news ended the presidency of Hans-Georg Maaßen.
Upper classes under agricultural civilization ate much more meat than peasants. They were also taller, stronger, and had better bones and teeth.
Agriculture was adopted because it maximized population density. The adoption of agriculture coincided with drastic declines in human height and bone density.
Read Karlin’s “keto Mongols” post to see what happened when carnivorous pastoralists encountered grain-dependent agriculturalists.
In Japan being fat is quite literally illegal.
France has the highest consumption of saturated fat in Europe.
Scandinavians eat a lot of beef and fish (as well as pork in Denmark).
Thais are poor.
True enough about the Italians, but now they have a high rate of childhood obesity.
One can consume carbs and be perfectly thin and healthy, but LCHF is the easiest path to this for most people. The biological mechanism is quite simple. When your body has access to carbohydrates for energy, it doesn’t resort to stored fat for energy. There are some other things (satiety, thermic effect of food, etc.), but that’s the easiest one to grasp.
EDIT: yes, true about winter above a certain latitude. And I’ll bet people got fatter in preparation for winter, as wild animals do today.
Looks like you were staying at the Novotel.
Well, I won’t argue the point. I think low carb is a legitimate choice for anyone who is attracted to it.
However, I think it needs to be coupled with an acceptance of moderate hunger as natural – many promoters of low carb try and sell it as the “solution” to hunger (and not just extreme hunger). This was especially true when the diet first came out, and it seemed like part of our cultures attempt to banish the dark side of life.
If a more mature low carb movement exists today which makes more moderate claims that it primarily eliminates unbearable hunger but one must still accept hunger as a natural part of life, then I have absolutely no quibbles with it and wish all who try it the best of success.
Despite the widespread availability of birth control and legalized infanticide, working class women still get knocked up at young ages
About 1.5 million American women had their first child in 2016. About 2/3 of the working population consists of hourly employees. Of the women giving birth to their 1st child that year, those at the 33d percentile of the age distribution were just shy of their 24th birthday (and, of course, not all of the women younger than that were working class). This demographic study:
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/databriefs/db68.pdf
contends that among women born in 1935, the median age at which one’s first child was born was 20.8 years. The median value one might wager would be the normal practice among skilled workers.
And I wonder if alcohol plays a role or attitudes towards it are just symptomatic of an underlying mindset.
Thin countries have a much more positive attitude towards alcohol – there is zero stigma to drinking in Japan and heavy drinking is common, and this is true all across Asia. Italy and France have a tradition that is positive towards alcohol consumption, etc.
And of course historically everyone drank a ton, so much more than we do today.
It could be some physical effect of alcohol or it could be that cultures favorable to alcohol have a more positive attitude towards nature and spontaneity – alcohol is a relaxant, promotes a feeling of oneness with others and life, and a go with the flow attitude.
This is inimical to cultures that prize conscious control and see life as a problem to be scientifically controlled – cultures that are top heavy on the control factor to the detriment of spontaneity, like modern Anglo and Jewish culture (but not Elizabethan English culture, or Hasidic Jewish culture).
But I do know some very fat imbibers…so I’m not sure.
i think this is the predictable result of the collapse of the center hitting the Left first.
neither the center-Left or center-Right have an answer to 1) the negative consequences of mass immigration and 2) the failure of their economic policies to provide the increasing prosperity they said they would but the tensions are stronger inside the center Left as their working class supporters are bearing the brunt of the pain and their SJW supporters are bearing the brunt of the cognitive dissonance from things like crime and jihadism so the old center-Left is crumbling to be replaced by a fanatical (to suppress the dissonance) SJW version of Far Left while their native working class voters drift off to a suitable economic nationalist party if one is available.
(if the only anti-immigration party is economically liberal then they have nowhere to go and may simply stop voting)
a similar thing is happening on the Right but slower as the internal contradictions are less extreme.
everyone in the West has been subject to 50+ years of full spectrum brainwashing by academia, media and politicians.
despite this relentless brainwashing the majority don’t support what is happening (although it does stop them fighting to stop it)
only the most programmable minority of the population supports what is happening and as the cognitive dissonance gets worse the more fanatical they become.
sooner or later they’ll snap.
iirc the ton ton macoutes were also the secret police under papadoc duvalier
You embarrass yourself when you write nonsense like this:
“where the government clearly depends upon fascistic ton ton macoutes to keep the people in line”
Since you were never in Ukraine, you came to have this silly idea by reading something. Whatever your source was, it is ridiculous. Ukrainian government doesn’t exist because people are afraid of the far right in Ukraine, and that without the far right they would vote pro-Russian parties into power or whatever. Your argument is as stupid as claiming that Putin was in power in the 2000s due to Nashi (such claims were actually made – perhaps that is your playbook about Ukraine?).
I have seen videos of riots in Ferguson. I guess Americans must be afraid to go outside because they might be victims of a riot at any time. You understand how one can make stupid statements based even on events that happened?

Stop trying to turn every thing into an ‘East vs West’ lecture if you are just going to be wrong.
In the US, groups that come closest to the likes of Azov don’t seem to have the level of government clearance as evidenced in Kiev regime controlled Ukraine.
In the US, the harassment of people for their political views isn’t at the violent level of Ukraine.
You are right, the East is increasingly corrupted by the West, making traditional comparisons problematic.
Still, these attitudes originated in the West, and are still more characteristic of it, so this kind of shorthand remains intellectually useful.
But I probably do overuse these terms, to be fair, and they seem to trigger people like Dmitry and you, so ill try and be more circumspect.
To be fair, I’m not “blaming” the West, and the inability of Asians to seriously resist these attitudes and their widespread adoption of them shows that susceptibility to these corrupting ideas a is a weakness shared by all mankind.
But geographically, it is true to say these ideas arose in the West, and even today Asians remain holdouts in many key respects – sufficiently so that there is still a real distinction, if a rapidly fading one.
Still, 70 years ago it was much easier to use these terms, I suppose.
So as a concession to you and Dmitry getting triggered, I shall be more cautious, Hyp.
Just another data-point that such mystical crap attracts people interested in therapy and self-aggradisement rather than gaining a real historical understanding.
She’s relatively “traditional”, but then again, the character Scully got pregnant, thought she knew who the father was (her FBI partner Fox Mulder), and had a federal-government job with excellent medical insurance and leave policies. Yet she simply gives the baby away rather than raising the baby with Mulder as real traditional people would. Typical Hollywood ultra-selfishness presented as normal.
(And God forbid she would actually MARRY the man she thought was the father of her child. That’s crazy talk. Never was discussed at all in the show, as far as I recall.)
That’s true, but things are changing in an ominous direction here in the USA on that score recently.
Police in several cities just stood aside and watched as Trump supporters or secure-borders activists were physically attacked, spit on, punched, kicked, threatened with death, and sometimes chased by a mob.
I anticipate that this phenomenon will quickly become more widespread once the Dems retake the White House — which would seem inevitable no later than 2024, given (1) how rare it is for one party to keep the White House more than two consecutive terms and (2) ongoing demographic and cultural change for the worse with each passing year.
I’m an American with some German heritage who speaks/reads some German. Come into contact with German immigrants to the USA constantly through our children’s language classes. Your analysis of the German character and mind is superb.
But I don’t see any cause for even cautious optimism, nonetheless.
I’ll rejoice jubilantly if the Germans come to their senses and try to turn things around. But let’s suppose they do everything I’d like to see: cut off nonEuropean immigration, start cracking down harder on “migrant” crime, deport non-European non-citizens, and stop accepting new invaders whether they’re called refugees or not. (Like all white or just non-savage countries who want to survive in somewhat recognizable, civilized form, this will require leaving the EU and abrogating or refusing to follow any so-called “international law” or treaties that purport to require them to accept immigrants.)
Still Germany would have a German population that DEcreases and grows even older every year, alongside much younger non-European and Muslim populations that INcrease every year. Until Germans re-grow some balls and start having plenty of children of their own, they will have no way to avoid their subjugation and dispossession in their own lands.
It would be funny to see Germany threaten Russia, given that Germany’s population is declining and aging faster than Russia’s, that Germany faces eventual civil war from its invaders, and most of all — that Germany’s military is a joke.
I’m sure Russia would hold its forces back and wait for Germany to manufacture or import some parts so that the German planes and tanks can actually function in combat.
Turkey probably could crush Germany militarily, forget about Russia!
But who will actually raise these artificially incubated children for the “businesswomen” and their husbands (?), when they were too selfish, immature and/or distracted to bother having children for those decades?
Not sure that artificial wombs will be sufficient for the kind of people who place no priority on having children in the natural way and at an age where childbearing would have been generally very safe for the woman and the babies (and they would have been around for most of their children’s lives if they conceived and carried the babies NATURALLY at a reasonable and realistic age, which 45- and 50-year-olds having babies typically will not be).
PS – Meant to say Germany’s population OF ACTUAL GERMANS is steadily declining. The country’s population may not decline, but a large and rapidly increasing proportion of births are non-German, indeed non-European.
YES!
For the past few years I’ve been talking a lot with various Iranian contacts I’ve made: they try to teach me Farsi, while showing me the pages and topics that are popular there. As far as I can tell a similar liberal/nationalist spectrum does exist there among millennials and Gen Z like what’s mentioned here about Russia and elsewhere. Today is actually the anniversary of The Battle of Qadisiyah which is considered a day of mourning for nationalists.
So, what does this have to do with the court system in Ukraine and Avokov?
Are you still going to post a travel report for Veliky Novgorod sometime?
no idea – just pointing out Haitian secret police were called tonton macoutes
In 3D “animation” Donald will have to wear pants.
Sorry Dmitry! Mulder’s doomed life was obvious from the opening episode though; it even became a running joke.
I never said she was an accurate voice…
Yeah, that was insane. But I thought in the fictional world (it’s a long time since I watched) her kid was kidnapped by aliens or government or someone? Oh, well. I think that was probably about when I lost track of the show anyway.
Did you (or anybody here) see the new show last year? I started to watch one episode but it didn’t seem worth the while.
Don’t Jews drink about like Italians?
Yes, except their wine is awful.
SPOILERS DMITRY
Scully had good reason to give the child to a secret couple – a faction of villains wanted the baby for his superhuman powers. It was to protect him. Also the child wasn’t really Mulder’s. The cigarette smoking man had the fertilizedovum implanted in Scully when she went on a road trip with him.
Caesarean section is an order of magnitude of difference from this ‘artificial womb’ idiocy though. Just to go back to Dmitri’s original point, who’s to say that a ’45yo businesswoman’ who’s suddenly felt panic about dying alone would make a good maternal figure? Even for natural mothers having children at such an advanced age would be a huge burden, not to mention extremely selfish, imagine your mother reaching senility on your 25th birthday. This is without even mentioning the exorbitant costs and complete waste of trained doctors time.
In practice such technology would probably lower fertility further by giving false hope, just look at the current egg-freezing scam.
I still can’t tell when Akarlin pushes for these ‘milestones’ it’s a product of his autistic technophilia or plain trolling. Probably both.
Knowing Armenia, it’s more likely a kickback scheme or simply a message for more Russian gibs. I highly doubt it will follow through. It will have domestic support regardless, as only Russian/Iranian interests in the region prevent the state from being annihilated by Turkey/Azerbaijan.
And yes, Iran has very cordial relations with Armenia. Lower to Middle income tourists come from Iran regularly to get drunk and relax.
About three-quarters of the way through Adam Tooze’s definitive account of the Nazi economy, The Wages of Destruction. Superb book throughout, and while Tooze clearly isn’t a Nazi he basically makes the case that most Nazi decisions, up to and including the Holocaust, were rational. The Holocaust, for instance, was the only reason it was possible to feed Germany, occupied Europe, and the Wehrmacht out of Europe’s inadequate food production.
At least, they were rational from the point of view of refusing to become a middle power hopelessly outclassed by America (and the USSR) and willing to gamble everything on this. The rise of America and Russia in the 20th century had been much commented on since the end of the 19th century, and neither Britain nor Germany were prepared to quietly accept this.
Britain squandered its chance by failing to elect Joseph Chamberlain before WW1, as I’ve noted here previously.
Germany appeared to have squandered its chance by losing World War One, but got a do-over thanks to the extraordinary ruthless ambition of Adolf Hitler and the “good luck” of the Great Depression.
The WW1 German scheme was less ambitious–basically a proto-European Union, though much extended to the East and Middle East and excluding Britain. The basic objective was to acquire the raw material and markets required to match American economies of scale. With German birth rates only beginning the Modern Fertility Transition at that time, it’s quite likely that the Wilhelmine imperialists believed getting more Germans was as simple as getting more food.
The WW2 German scheme is no doubt well known to readers here, so I won’t rehash it.
What will be interesting to you all, particularly the Russians, is another way that America contributed to Germany’s defeat. Since the middle of 1938 the Germans were haunted by the specter of mass production, and in the summer of 1940 this was beginning to take concrete form. President Roosevelt announced the intention to manufacture 50,000 combat aircraft per year to provide to the British.
This was taken quite seriously in Germany, and the catch phrase that summer in German business circles was Was macht Ford? (What will Ford do?) America’s automotive industry, at that time larger than the rest of the world combined, showed that Roosevelt’s plan was no idle boast.
Not only did this contribute to Germany’s decision to undertake Barbarossa (though of course it was Molotov’s ridiculous demands in November, 1940 pushed Hitler over the edge), but it altered Germany’s production plans.
While Germany did increase the combat power of its army in advance of Barbarossa, the main focus of German industry from the summer of 1940 until the Battle of Moscow in December, 1941 was on the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and capital investment. It’s impossible to say what a stronger focus on army production would’ve accomplished, but perhaps then the Germans would’ve taken Moscow in 1941.
People who like to pooh pooh the Allied Combined Bombing offensive should also read this book. The British offensive on the Ruhr managed to stop the Armaments Miracle in its track for months. These months preceded the Battle of Kursk for instance. At the time of the Battle of Kursk there were over 1,000 88mm flak cannons in the Ruhr area. It’s also possible that if the British hadn’t shifted their focus from the Ruhr to Berlin that they would’ve collapsed the German war economy in 1943.
The German goose looked pretty well cooked in the summer of 1944, but it should also be pointed out that this was when German armaments production hit its peak in the war. After securing Normandy, the Allies unleashed their air forces once more on Germany. The result was economic collapse in just a few months.
Another surprising fact is that the factory I.G. Farben built at Auschwitz is still in operation today and is Europe’s third largest producer of synthetic rubber. It counts among its clients as Continental AG and Michelin.
I don’t see the connection at all, unless the author implied that such ‘untermenschen’ were converted into sausages.
The connection is quite simple. Jews eat.
The Reich Ministry for Food and Agriculture was not convinced of its ability to feed Europe for another year.
The problem was solved in two ways.
One was by making the Wehrmacht, to the greatest extent possible, live off of food production in the occupied USSR.
Two was by denying to Jews food rations and access to food markets in the General Government and the Occupied USSR.
Three was letting the Soviet POWs captured in 1941 starve to death.
Without resorting to these expedients Europe’s livestock would’ve been slaughtered (since livestock consume grain), the diet of the German population would’ve grown much worse (there was already a deeply unpopular ration cut in February, 1942), and parts of occupied Europe would’ve undergone famine (Greece was already suffering famine).
The plan worked. The ration cut was reversed by the end of the year, and there was no specter of famine again for the whole war.
Incidentally this just goes to show why Holocaust denial is so silly. Even if the gas chambers were fictitious (seems probable), we have iron clad evidence that the Germans simply starved, shot, and worked to death millions of civilians and prisoners of war.
I think it’s pretty good overall. First season is a bit slow compared to modern television shows, so you wish you could watch some of the more boring episodes at 2x speed (but Putlocker doesn’t have this option).
America in the 1993 season of the X-Files has no black, brown, latino or chinese people, even as victims or in the background – it’s just aliens and anglosaxons 🙂
Mulder and Scully should both be Celts, I think.
Why are you complaining about a 100% correct comment? Not everyone is in some large Armenian or Turkish family, and not everyone can be (Armenia has lower fertility than Russia today).
45 year old business woman, can of course be good mothers. The problem of all Europe now, is falling fertility of middle class and educated people, as it becomes less possible to match to their lifestyle and job, particularly pregnancy. At the same time, those are generally the more superior section of the population in Europe.
Fertility started falling rapidly in 1990, so many people that age (45) right now who had started missing having children. So, sadly, it looks like artificial wombs won’t be anytime soon, for Russia. But already availability of more fertility treatments which help older, middle class women, who can afford expensive treatment, to have children, are extremely positive, ceteris paribus.
Why? Children should be independent by 18-22, for their own psychological health. While nowadays people are living older every year, with increasing health, so probability of your parents remaining healthy is constantly increasing.
In idealized world maybe.
Demographics like business-ladies, or any women who used contraception when younger and have a good job – are usually part of an above average section of countries’ population, in the real world. It’s exactly the kind of demographics who, from national policy view, you want to have more children. Artificial wombs would (like private fertility treatments generally) have a pro-eugenic effect, other things equal.
Lol, I’m only watching Season 1 now.
His life seems ok so far? Imagine that interesting job, where you travel around investigating aliens and your only colleague is that beautiful girl who looks like a Renaissance painting, following you around talking about science.
Abnormal child-rearing arrangements produce lifelong psychological trauma.
All of this nonsense is motivated by fear of imposing White Sharia because…reasons. Outside of White Sharia there is the interesting experiment ongoing in Hungary.
That said at the rate things are going we might not have any choice.
6m Jews + 3m POWs was less than 7% of population of occupied Europe. This number should be offset by German war dead. There was no famine, starvation or even hunger anywhere in the occupied Europe except in places where German direct policy lead to it like in Jewish ghettos or in some places in occupied Russia where partisan warfare and Soviet scorched earth policy lead to it.
There is plenty of sufficient evidence to believe in the extermination of Jews w/o a need to resort to dubious claims that it had something to do with German policy to save food.
Accounts of the German occupation of France always include complaints by the French about lack of food. But maybe that’s only because they were French. In any case, Nazi Europa never had anything remotely like the Midwestern Breadbasket.
I don’t see that children having 45 year old mothers (and growing in artificial wombs – which they wouldn’t remember) would produce psychological trauma for children.
Psychological trauma would be much more if their parents are alcoholics, or their parents are drug addicts, or they go to orphanage, or their parents have bad genes.
Across all developed countries, life expectancy increases, so age to retire increases.
But fertility rate is falling or stagnant at below replacement levels, particularly with more eugenic parts of a population – so any increase in age of opportunity and ease of opportunity in which women from desirable origin, can have children would reduce the problem, or probably even solve it.
For a country, ideal fertility rate, is to reach replacement fertility (2,05 per women). Then the issue is the demographic composition of people having more children, and people having less children. If more desirable people have more children than less desirable people – then eugenic effect on the population.
The request was specifically made by the Reich Agriculture and Food Ministry to the General Government headed by Hans Frank. Prior to this request the General Government was a net recipient of food. After three million Jews were starved (remember, this was done in 41-42), it was a net exporter of food.
The claims are hardly dubious given that we have the actual correspondence between Herbert Backe and Hans Frank, as well as the orders given by the General Government on food rations. Likewise we know that Germany was dipping into its grain reserves at the time.
The “Hunger Plan” to starve Soviet POWs (and civilians, though this was more or less abandoned after the strategic failure of Barbarossa) was likewise formulated by the Reich Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Unlike the Holocaust, the details of the Hunger Plan were also well known by the civil service and Wehrmacht. They broadly supported it owing to the famine and malnutrition Germany experienced in World War One.
That the Germans also intended to exterminate the Jews for other reasons is not something I dispute, but it began with the need to conserve food. This all preceded the Wannsee Conference.
Which I have articulated at great length, here and elsewhere.
An hysterical rant in the NYT equates the contemporary concept of “cultural Marxism” with the Nazi concept of “Judeo-Bolshevism.” (Why not Kulturbolschewismus?) I was wondering why it took so long:
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/13/opinion/cultural-marxism-anti-semitism.html
Terminology “cultural Marxism” only something for completely, illiterate people.
In Marxism, culture is product of means of production (economic structure), which is product of historical stage. And in historical materialism, culture can slow and create more violent transition to next historical stage, but not prevent it.
“Cultural Marxism”, would require presumably that we have defeated scarcity of resources, and live in situation where division of labour and division of classes, is no long necessary.
For early Marxism (which is the only place where he discusses what this will be like), in this culture, we can all become some kind of “renaissance men” free from division of labour: “thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticise after dinner”.
“According to Professor Hanebrink, many aspects of the Judeobolshevik fantasy survived the Holocaust it helped bring about, just with the role of the Jews implied more euphemistically or replaced by new adversaries. As in Judeobolshevism, cultural Marxism homogenizes vast groups of shadowy enemies and assigns them a secret design to upend society. As in Judeobolshevism, those supposedly under threat are invited to identify themselves with “the Christian West” and surge in self-defense before it is too late.”
I prefer Spandrell’s term “Bioleninism” over Cultural Marxism, largely because Cultural Marxism is unwieldy and awkward. But there’s nothing wrong with the term.
The way to define Cultural Marxism is simple. Instead of the bourgeoisie being the oppressor class, white christian heterosexual males are. Because the system assumes the biological and cultural equality of everyone, any group performing worse than white men is therefore evidence of discrimination and oppression.
As you can tell from the Western commenters on this site, this is what we are fighting against in our countries.
The term was coined by the distinguished William Lind. Lind is one of the world’s most noteworthy military theorists, a major Cold Warrior, and a longtime figure in the American conservative movement before it degenerated into a grifting racket.
Frankly, equating it with Judeo-Bolshevism is fair. It’s unfair to compare someone like German_reader to the Nazis, but both he and the Nazis would find some things to agree on.
Your Adam Tooze: “Tooze is a grandson of the British civil servant and Soviet spy Arthur Wynn and his wife, Peggy Moxon. Tooze’s 2006 book, The Wages of Destruction, is dedicated to them.”
“Recruited by Edith Tudor-Hart in 1936, Wynn was the well known Soviet spy “Agent Scott” of the KGB.[2] Wynn created the less prominent Oxford spy ring, in some sense the University of Oxford “counterpart” to the infamous Cambridge Five.”
Don’t you think that his grandson who dedicated his book to his the communist and spy grandfather may have a motive to further vilify Germany that his grandfather helped to defeat by working for the most important slayer of Hitler? One should always keep an eye on the spawn of Bolsheviks.
It is sign that person is illiterate in this area (should not be discussing Marxism). If I would hear someone say this in real life, I would assume I’m talking with an idiot, as the two words placed together which are contradictions of each other.
We can hypothesize “cultural Marxism” (or final culture which will be achieved in Marx’s theory), but this is content only very briefly discussed in early writings of Marx (and not in his later work), and as trivial result of his theory we will have no division of labour and no real scarcity of resources.
So for early Marx, in this case, we will be fishing, then writing literary criticism, then doing some farming – and yet without being fishermen, literary critics, or farmers. (A nice – let’s be honest, bourgeois – fantasy).
The book vilifies Germany a lot less than the typical contemporary history of Nazi Germany does.
There’s a lot of novel work in Tooze’s book, but discussion of the Hunger Plan or the General Government aren’t novel. It has been written about since at least 1948 if not earlier.
What’s novel about Tooze’s treatment of those is he gives the economic rationale for it rather than the usual cartoon supervillain explanation.
I think it’s at least plausible in that it does fit a certain historical context. Many Germans believed that they lost WWI because of revolution, which was partly due to food shortages due to blockade.
If I’m not mistaken, there was a reluctance to use German women as industrial workers because it was thought this would decrease social stability. Men on leave needed to return to their wives, girlfriends, etc. so they were never used to the same extent they were in the US, the UK, and Russia.
Also, it seems as though initial efforts were made to make Jews leave.
I have found that modern TV is largely unwatchable due to diversity tropes – prevalent even in many historical dramas now. But perhaps that is for the best because most of TV is crap.
A few years ago I was watching the movie The Big Easy (1986), which has the setting of New Orleans which is a very black city, but the movie had largely all the good guys and cops being white. Nothing implausible really, except it seemed funny because it did not seem greatly influenced by multicult ideology.
It seemed obvious to me that one difference was the internet, even beyond the demographic changes. The racialized culture depends on things like Twitter. What is really funny is that the actress that starred in that movie (Ellen Barkin who is white) recently came out and said something like she was taught by her mother to cross the street when she saw a white man. Only the internet – which is where she made the claim in search of approval – can explain so bizarre a behavior, IMO.
You are indeed mistaken. The mobilization of German women into the workforce was higher on September 1, 1939 than it would ever be in Britain or America for the entire war. Another myth Tooze busts (though the myth has been busted before).
The myth stems from the fact that the portion of German women in the workforce didn’t increase much during the war, but that’s because it was already high. Germany wasn’t as affluent as Britain or America and also still had millions of peasants, so women working was common.
There were efforts made to get the Jews to leave, and Ron Unz has a good article about the partnership between Nazism and Zionism. However this was complicated by Germany’s chronic foreign exchange shortage (generally the Reichsbank operated with only one week of reserves) throughout the Nazi period. If Jews left and took their assets with them, the German economy would suffer. A tax known as the Reich Flight Tax was levied on emigrants, and this discouraged Jewish emigration.
I believe Unz’s article overlooked this, which is certainly interesting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haavara_Agreement
The Frankfurt School, known more appropriately as Critical Theory, is a philosophical and sociological movement spread across many universities around the world. It was originally located at the Institute for Social Research (Institut für Sozialforschung), an attached institute at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. The Institute was founded in 1923 thanks to a donation by Felix Weil with the aim of developing Marxist studies in Germany. After 1933, the Nazis forced its closure, and the Institute was moved to the United States where it found hospitality at Columbia University in New York City.
Altiero Spinelli is a good example of communist who did quite a lot marching through institutions of EU.
Correction. Previous chart was wrong. The data for CN and IN were converted to PPP twice :(.
http://i65.tinypic.com/12549cn.png
I dislike the term simply because it’s usage is strongly correlated with cringe figures like JBP, Cernovich, Steven ‘brainlet’ Crowder, Molyneux, that booty-jeans tradthot, nu-/pol/, and PJW.
Why?
You’re entitled to your feelings, and it would be quite permissible to answer “it just does.” But it would also be interesting to hear you reason it out.
Personally, I think that a given person is in the world is much more important than the question of how that person came to be in the world.
Imagine you just learned that, rather than having been traditionally conceived by mama and papa, as you’d always believed, you were actually put together in some ultra-secret, hi-tech lab as part of a government experiment.
Apart from the shock of learning that, would anything in your life really be changed? If not, why despair over the possibility that other people might come into the world through similarly artificial means?
On the other hand, if your feeling upon learning how you came into the world was on the order of “this changes everything,” that your life would never again be the same, I can, to an extent, relate. At 20, I heard a credible rumor that I was adopted. I was too afraid of learning the harsh truth to ask my parents. I felt like my entire world was crumbling, but I kept it to myself. A few years later, I was able to confirm to my satisfaction that my parents were my real parents, which brought considerable relief.
I can’t help but laugh at myself when I think about that now. You could provide me with incontrovertible evidence that I’m adopted tomorrow, and it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. I like to believe I’d be just as nonchalant even if I learned news as shocking as that I’m not actually human. Obviously that would leave me with a shitload of stuff to be curious about, but I wonder if it would fundamentally change anything. After all, I would presumably continue to face the same human problems as everyone else, dealing with hopes, fears, desires, disappointments, relationships, health issues, and so on.
We should keep Judeobolshevism.
In 20th century, some Marx inspired writers (really, more accurate terminology should be “Marxian”, not “Marxist”), try to use some of his concepts (“commodity fetishism”, “false consciousness”), to criticize culture of capitalist countries.
You can use (and he himself used) concepts from his theory, as an angle to criticize culture which is produced in capitalist economies. You could call this “Marxist (or Marxian-style), criticism of culture”.
However, this does not stop conjunction “cultural Marxism” from being an idiotic contradiction of terminology, and indication of illiteracy.
In Marxism, culture is product of economic structure, which is itself product of historical stage. Economic structure is also “first mover”, in relation to culture.
To change of culture is irrelevant for Marxist theory (except to extent it could reduce social violence of transition), as culture is supervenient (superstructure) of historical epoch’s mode of production.
What is actually culture (I guess “cultural Marxism”) in final communist stage of history, is not accessible epistemically to man in earlier stage of history – except axiomatic extrapolation which Marx himself discusses of – no division of labour and no scarcity.
Marx says in one paragraph, about his view of the former, where he see possibility to be “renaissance man” (we can be fishermen, farmers, cattle raiser and literary critic – all in a single day).
Latter concept of lack of scarcity was discussed indirectly in an essay by British economist Keynes
https://www.marxists.org/reference/subject/economics/keynes/1930/our-grandchildren.htm
It’s ironic, I have heard in Russian exactly the opposite viewpoint.
The conspiracy is that in the media they show too many Russians, as a way to distract people from how many other nationalities and gasterbeiters are actually in the country.
Obviously we are talking here just about works of fiction – the director could show only blue people (like “Avatar”), and it would not decide in support or against the quality of the art.
I don’t mind the alt-lite guys too much. They’re useful gateway drugs.
JBP is controlled opposition and possibly mentally ill. He has very strange messianic delusions, and claimed that while on the carnivore diet drinking some apple cider vinegar made it impossible for him to sleep for four weeks (medically impossible). As someone who did the carnivore diet for three months straight (and am ~95% carnivore now) and also enjoys apple cider vinegar, I’m baffled by such a weird lie.
Cernovich is a good journalist but less interesting now than he was before he entered the mainstream. His voice is unfortunate.
Unfamiliar with Crowder.
Molyneux has an excellent voice (and “not an argument” is a great phrase) and openly espouses race/IQ, but he is a total lunatic. He believes that nearly all biological families are abusive (not joking) and that his daughter (biological) is history’s first “peacefully parented child”. He also used to maintain a website denouncing various people who left his weird cult.
That booty shorts tradthot (Lauren Southern) does a lot of genuinely excellent journalism, e.g. her recent recording of NGO “activists” inside of “migrant” camps. That said being female of course she doesn’t have any ideas worth listening to.
nu-/pol/ ?
Can’t take PJW seriously (fag, Scottish), but he definitely has a following.
Lind popularized it as a term of abuse, but it’s very doubtful he coined it. I admit that I was introduced to the term by Lind at a time when it was beginning to dawn on me that leftist cultural influence was far more pervasive than I had ever imagined. One of the books I eventually came across was titled “Cultural Marxism in Post-War Britain,” by Dennis Dworkin. The only reason I became interested was the title. It was too dense for me at the time – most of its assumptions were completely lost on me – but it did contribute to my gnawing sense that much of what I’d taken for granted about history was, if not a “lie,” a serious leftist distortion; instead of being the fringe loons I’d innocently assumed, leftists were much closer to being the intellectual air I breathed.
In his book, Dworkin doesn’t even bother defining “cultural Marxism,” so we can assume the term was either common currency in his circles (well before Lind et al got their hands on it, I imagine) or was at least considered unobjectionable and immediately understandable to those whom it described – ie it simply referred to that aspect of Marxism which focuses on culture rather than economics. Dworkin describes his aim thus:
Of cultural Marxim’s history, Dworkin says:
Unlike Lind, who equates cultural Marxism with the “Frankfurt School,” Dworkin sees important differences:
The Leviathan of modernity and the Behemoth of industrialisation may be more lenient towards some people than others, but leaves no one untouched.
Actually, it’s a pretty dumb claim. Cultural Marxism is just a name, as good or logical as any. You could claim that the term “Marxism-Leninism” was also inherently contradictory (Lenin’s ideas often contradicted those of Marx), but still that’s what the official ideology of the USSR is called. Names are just names, and don’t have to be logical or provide accurate descriptions.
Who is JBP?
Mr. Connery is on to something here about how women behave. Nevertheless, he is wrong about our motives. He errs gravely when he says “women want the last word.” We really don’t much care about the last word. What we really want is an end to whatever assholery led to the argument to begin with. If you let them, men will often pretend to agree with you, saying “yes, Dear, I understand,” etc. etc. etc. But then they turn around and carry on behaving precisely as though the whole conversation never happened. It’s related to the whole “hysterical woman” trope. You don’t actually have to take anything on board that we have said; you just have to ride out the hysteria. In the end, of course, this in fact drives women to hysteria.
Jordan Peterson.
While I was on Twitter, I followed many alt-lite people, but I never heard of him.
At least he thinks that parents can tell their children what to do, unlike a libertarian family I have been personally acquainted with
Why do yanks think that all regional British accents are Scottish?
He’s a Canadian pych professor, one notch more establishment than the ‘alt-lite’. He gained fame for refusing to use tranny pronouns in Canada and then attempting to have a civilised discussion with the ensuing sjw mob where he, unsurprisingly, came off quite well. You can easily find YouTube videos of him making these people look even more silly than they already are. The problem is, of course, that while jbp is ‘owning’ and ‘triggering’ campus screamers, a critical mass of sane, non-hysterical people in government, education and businesses have completely bought into sjwism and it’s now absolutely entrenched.
LMAO, the bitter responses from some of the Russian posters here is hilarious. SEETHING. Also, some of you need to learn the differences between nation (people), government and country. So hard, much think!
https://i.imgur.com/WVuuwSn.jpg
I don’t think neutral is Russian, and utu certainly isn’t.
What g2k said. I became familiar with him purely by chance several months before he became famous over the tranny-pronoun business whilst looking at schizophrenia videos on youtube.
I liked him at first, but it’s become increasingly clear the man is slightly unhinged, whilst having only the vaguest knowledge of the authors he loves to cite in every lecture. Another endless talking point of his is ‘free speech’, though he ‘refuses to debate ethno-nationalists’, though he’ll happily accept a $250 donation to do a youtube video with virtually anyone else. His later denouncing of Kavanaugh has since proved he’s completely useless.
If you’re unfamiliar with the topics he talks about, or don’t initially notice his messiah complex, its easily to be taken in, as he speaks very well.
tl,dr; a bog-standard ‘conservative’ of the free-market worship variety that has aroused a mass following from attacking low-hanging fruit and acting as a surrogate father figure for incels worldwide.
I guarantee you Russia occupies a lot more mind-space of the average Pole than vice-versa.
Whatever his other faults, Dostoevsky’s portrayal of the Polish Nationalists in The Karamazov Brothers was spot-on. Contrary to what Poles might think, Russians don’t particularly have anything against Poland. They save their really irrational (and mutual), venomous hatred for Balts in my experience.
X-Files becomes slightly more diverse as it proceeds. Mulder ends up briefly working with a black deep throat. Scully goes to Africa. A lot of American Indians play a part in season 3. It even features Russians. Duchovny is a jew, Anderson not.
In the end outcomes matter more than feelings, Karlin says that the Soviet “deep freeze” of the Eastern Europe kept it from becoming non white as Western Europe became. I however think it is more than that, the USA is truly an anti white regime, the USSR, as far as I am aware, never came close to the ideological fanaticism of Americans. The USSR probably used things such as a global workers unity of all the races as a propaganda tool, however the USA are true believers, which really does mean a nation will not escape its death by becoming a US puppet.
If Poland became a US puppet in 1945, then it would be exactly as France, Britain or Germany are now.
Commies were true believers, too. But they were also engaging in an intense competition with a coalition of much more developed countries including the by far strongest power on the planet, and so couldn’t afford to totally destroy their own countries for purely ideological reasons. Also, after a few decades of unrelenting mass slaughter, they got tired of killing and so stopped doing that. They also grew more and more cynical of their own ideology as it became increasingly clear to all observers that they were hopelessly behind.
The cultural Marxist regimes are still more developed than any of their potential competitors, they also still dominate all fields of soft power, so that the leaders and cheerleaders of these regimes have no reasons to doubt their ideology, especially since they retconned history and now they believe that their ideology is what made them so strong (when in fact they had been stronger before the advent of cultural Marxism). The Soviets had no such luxury, they had to realize the shortcomings of their ideology and cut back its most extreme manifestations early on. This is what looks like “they were saner.” I actually suspect the opposite. They were more insane, but were forced by external circumstances to cut back on the craziness early on. The cultural Marxists still don’t have such circumstances.
misdefining cultural Marxism is an aspect of cultural Marxism.
Gramsci developed the idea of cultural hegemony to explain why the Soviet revolution didn’t spread to the western nations – which it should have done according to Marxist theory.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Gramsci
this new cultural addition to Marxist theory was never about creating a Marxist culture (which is what dishonest people pretend it was about) it was about destroying the capitalist cultural hegemony by waging cultural war against it – in particular waging war against the family, Christianity and patriotism through the media and academia.
Cultural Marxism is/was the deliberate cultural poisoning of western nations to weaken them in preparation for a future Bolshevik revolution.
Gramsci’s ideas are taught in every western university so the NYT denying it exists shows the staggering depth of their dishonesty.
Where’s the Wife of Bath when you need her?
Law and Order is the clearest example. Netflix once showed the earliest episodes, from the 1990s, and they were remarkably realistic and free of diversity nonsense. Anyone of any race or class could be the criminal. There was even one episode where a Mexican guy who committed a crime used white guilt to avoid detection. They were real mysteries.
Nowadays we still watch the show out of habit sometimes, and one can easily and immediately guess what the twist will be and who the criminal will turn out to be – the straight white male (and the richer he is, the more likely he is to be the culprit).
she’s Jewish and grew up in Brooklyn so her comments are explainable in terms of the media’s incitement of Trump based paranoia (pretending her mother told to avoid white men and not black)
without the internet she’d be saying the same thing but only to her friends and relatives.
Young people in Poland and Hungary embrace faggotry:

Why do yanks think that all regional British accents are Scottish?
We need an answer to this question. Confusing Northern Irish and Geordie accents for Scottish is bad enough but PJW’s Yorkshire accent is not even remotely close to Scottish.
There is something about him that I believe he will implode in a spectacular way.
Were they nationalists? Rather some grotesque opportunists who wanted to make money in Russia who were caught between the obsequiousness of somebody who tries to make a deal but still is trying to maintain the air of superiority of Polish dignity.
Seriously why is not possible to just exterminate them?
We’re not British. Most of us have never been there either, and we mostly just get exposed in the media to Received Pronunciation and Scottish. I’ve been, but not much and never to the North.
In PJW’s case his Yorkshire accent (yes, I looked this up) is so hard to understand that I just filed it in a mental category of “Scottish”.
How well can you differentiate between North American regional dialects?
Northern Irish we’re more acquainted with thanks to Liam Neeson. Though I don’t know that people actually realize that’s where he’s from.
Connery does indeed err. But it’s much more primal than wanting the “last word”. He’s projecting a male reason onto it (some men relish debate).
You want drama and an exciting emotional roller coaster.
Connery’s response to that is far superior than the weak men who “agree” (or worse, actually agree).
His father is Jewish (ancestors from Ukraine and Poland) but his mother was a Scottish immigrant.
Correct, but this depiction colors Russian perceptions of Poles as crafty, dishonest, pseudo-Jews (who serve the West).
The YouTube videos of E. Michael Jones critique of JBP regarding the JQ have been shutdown. They were pretty tame (compared to the other stuff EMJ still has up), so I wonder if JBP isn’t behind this?

No normal, self-respecting man would ever buy the bullshit this beta male emotional wreck is selling.

How do you guys access Scihub these days? I use Telegram, since I got tired of the moving DNS target, and the onion domains don’t seem to work. Is there still an HTTP interface?
What I want to know is what Polish Perspective proposes to do about 50% of his nation, that thinks gays should be allowed to marry in Poland.
@AK (as he will mostly be the only person interested here in knowing about that):
I will be received into Holy Orthodoxy (as was just a Catholic who had been going to the Divine Liturgy closest to my house since several years) tomorrow.
From this fragment of Tokarzewski’s “In Siberian Prisons 1846–1857” who knew Dostoyevski in Siberian prisons we can get some idea about Dostoyevsky and his thing about Poles.
What you depict of Russians has been said of Polish perceptions of Russians, minus the point of serving “the West“.
Among Russian patriots/nationalists, Poles are also generally perceived, as not necessarily so dishonorable, as overly nationalist, in a counterproductive way, that can result in screwing themselves and some others up.
Exterminate them?
Law & Order has had at least two PC anti-Serb episodes.
Not sure if true: I heard that Michael Moriarty left that show on account of some differences he had with the growing PC input on that show.
This piece is definitely slander.
Russia isn’t as infatuated with Poland as vice versa. On par with how Boston sports fans are more anti-New York than the reverse. A matter of the smaller entity having a complex with the larger rival that has more to deal with.
If Poland became a US puppet in 1945, it’d probably still be more anti-Russian than France and Germany.
The only clear example that comes to mind is the NEP, and the vehement opposition to it meant the policy was fairly quickly abandoned.
Collectivization and the willingness to endure the attendant horrors hardly seem like evidence of moderation in response to circumstances.
Soviet communism was less insane than cultural Marxism. The former is a question of values rather than facts. You can prefer a command economy and one-party rule independent of any facts. Cult Marx is the enforcement of totally bs factual claims.
Concerns the use of using religious imagery to editorialize on some contentious contemporary political issues:

Not a fan of it.
So what? Russians once ruled Poles, not vice versa. Do you have a problem with Bulgarians and Greeks being more anti-Turkish than Turks are anti-Bulgarian/Greek?
It’s this completely unreasonable unwillingness to concede the most basic facts of a given situation if it makes one’s own side look bad that makes me despise ethnonationalists so heartily.
Reminded of a Polish academic’s accounting of Gogol, which in actuality said more about the author’s faulty biases than the intended subject.
Poland has had its moments of imperial conquest, which has included Russia. If anything, Poland started that contentious relationship.
I’m all for burying the hatchet. Just spare me the inaccurate BS.
That’s Connery’s point. You give women the last word, but they’re not happy with it, because they’re not really interested in the last word, they’re interested in controlling and manipulating male behavior.
Giving your opponent the last word is something done between honorable men. Giving your opponent the last word does not mean that you agree with your opponent or agree to or accept or submit to his demands. It’s something you do out of a sense of honor. You’re showing him some courtesy and respect and acknowledging that he has his own views, opinions, and interests, even if you disagree and will never yield to them.
Stalin reversed the acceptance of homosexuality and made divorce way harder, as he recognized the need to increase the population. This is one of the most insane directions we are heading, and one closed to the commies, despite their original enthusiasm for free sex and hippie communes and homosexuals. In the 1930s Stalin excised anti-Russian parts from the history curriculum, and had a major movie made about Russian national hero Alexander Nevsky (who was formerly ridiculed), as he realized that to fight a war you need at least a basic sense of patriotism. In 1941 he opted for patriotic, even nationalistic propaganda, and a reversion to more traditional looking Russian uniforms. He made a concordat with the Orthodox Church as he realized it’d be quite a bit useful to him. The commies often allowed the descendants of “former people” into positions and eventually relaxed class quotas despite their ideology.
Of course we cannot know how insane they would have gotten if they were ruling a group of the strongest and richest greater powers, but even ruling the most backwards power they engaged in insanity on such a large scale that only westerners with no knowledge of communism can imagine that they were clearly saner than the current ruling classes. Maybe they were, but at least it’s not obvious that they were.
Ron Unz cites that “Arizona politics was the seemingly minor and irrelevant fact that almost half of all Arizona schoolchildren are now Hispanic. Meanwhile, according to Census data, over 80 percent of Arizonans aged 65 or older are white. “ he also mentioned in a recent comment that “Basically, 55-year-olds get into much less trouble than 23-year-olds. Once you adjust for age, most of the difference in criminality suddenly disappears.”
Something will be gained for Democrats with young Hispanics but are they going to keep whites. Yes the average white is going to be significantly older, but is aging going to make them less worried about ending their days in an ever increasing proportion of young Mexicans and their future children? All sorts of things have happened, eg fall of the Soviet Union, yet the narrow victories in presidential elections remain . Immigration is another rising tide to lift all boats.
Thanks, Hungary. 🙂
Russia was less developed than Hungary, but anyway, Hungary was not a power at all since the early 16th century.
Russia was the most backward of all greater powers. Okay, except Japan until the 1950s or maybe 1960s.
You realize that so far the successes of the so-called nationalists in organizing 11/11 marches did not translate into anything meaningful like policies concerning immigration by Poland’s government. The nationalists have no political presence. Their only function is to be vilified and being the object of contempt form which everybody can distance themselves by making declarations of their moral rectitude and superior virtue.
Poland’s intelligentsia by osmosis and by penetration developed typically Jewish contempt for lower and uneducated classes. The nationalists are uneducated primitive peasants who might be dangerous so something must be done with them. There is no possibility for any dialogue with the uneducated peasants. Czechs or Swiss who are nations of peasants do not suffer form this malady to this extent and will resist polarization much better than Poland.
Poland is posturing and flexing muscle against Germany’s an EU’s mandates concerning refugees only because it is under a protective umbrella of the US and Israel who want to weaken the EU. At the same time immigrants and Gastarbeiters are flowing in in very large numbers. Poland did not have the balls of Hungary to not sign the Marrakesh declaration which also Czechs now are considering to withdraw from or at least they are making some noises about it on the highest governmental level.
Polish ruling class consists of mostly puppets who either respond to Berlin or Washington and Tel Aviv. They do not have original thoughts. They do not have a doctrine for Poland. And when the two camps of puppets are fighting each other they like to accuse each other of being Putin’s puppets. It is unthinkable for Poland to show some flexibility and gain some leverage as Orban by playing the Russian card. Poland surrendered its Russian card.
Nonsense. Poles do not think of Russians as clever, dishonest pseudo-Jews. They think that Russians are like Poles but more coarse, violent, backward and barbaric versions. As a result Poles have some sympathy towards Russians, perhaps more sympathy towards Russians than vice versa.
But less so than it is now and Poles would develop some anti-Americanism they do not have now. So it would be better for Russia now if it did not occupy Poland and Eastern block after WWII.
In The House of the Dead D. seemed to like Caucasians and Siberians, but not Poles. Perhaps because Poles were civilized and the others were less so?
Just how backward can you get before you can’t do great power stuff anymore? Surely, some level of technological and economic capability is required.
Russia tested its first nuke in 1949, before England did, so couldn’t be all that backward. Certainly more developed, than Hungary, which despite its slightly better average standard of living, and beautiful Germanic architecture in Budapest, was utter non-entity, both in military terms and scientific.
How do you guys access Scihub these days
I’ve always found at least one of the following to work:
https://sci-hub.tw/
https://sci-hub.se/
There’s some truth to the perception among Poles that Russians are like Poles, but a more violent, backward and barbaric variant – leading to the idea of Poland as some kind of fortress for Europe. In turn, that perception has been understandably ridiculed among Russians, including a Belarusian Orthodox Jew I know.
I was replying to your simplistic nonsense of Russians viewing Poles as clever, dishonest pseudo-Jews. That’s a fringe element of an image that you can find among Poles regarding Russia.
The based on a true story movie Europa Europa includes that perception:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europa_Europa
Been awhile since I last saw that film. Some scenes recollected include an anti-Russian/anti-Jewish/anti-Communist Polish youth, who views the encroaching USSR as a Judeo-Bolshevist friendly entity. Another scene shows Poles leaving the Soviet occupied zone to the Nazi part as Jews are leaving the Nazi occupied part to the Soviet side. Along the way, there’s some bickering between the two.
As for another point you bring up, a number of Russians over time have said to me that they’d have more sympathy for the Poles if the latter didn’t include a chauvinistic anti-Russian side. That very same group of Russians appreciably acknowledge the pro-Russian element among some Poles.
Have you ever heard of the Rosenbergs? Britain (in significant parts Jewish physicists in Britain) did make some of the initial scientific progress towards the nuclear bomb but it was folded into the American project.
The big question is whether or not ~60% of whites voting GOP is a hard ceiling or if there’s still room to climb. Some writers have suggested that as the Democratic Party becomes majority non-white that it will experience “white flight”.
In that case the GOP could dominate politics until mid-century.
If ~60% is a hard ceiling our goose will likely be cooked in the next decade. We can hang on for awhile by flipping Minnesota and portions of New England as we start to lose parts of the Sunbelt, but eventually the math will turn against us.
I think we can climb past 60% but it will require changing the policy mix and/or Democratic white flight.
While I don’t expect us to ever get a majority of coloreds, I don’t see any reason we can’t improve our vote share among them (esp Asians and hispanics).
Polen will be punished.
https://twitter.com/notesfrompoland/status/1061689481793884160
Poland has succeeded in being free of Muslim mass immigration and has publically and successfully resisted pressure to bring in large numbers of such migrants.
While there is some truth to this (urban educated Poles tend to support Romney-ish conservatism vs. Trumpian conservativsm or nationalism supported by peasants – very few Poles even urban ones support actual leftism) it is far from universal and there is far more nationalism among educated and urban Poles than among educated and urban Americans and Western Europeans.
Primarily Ukrainians (about 2 million, although they come and go). The Nepalese, Indians and Phillipinos are in the 10,000s total AFAIK. No Muslims, which is what Germany really wanted.
A diplomatic gesture without teeth.
Meanwhile:
https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/europe/poles-and-czechs-follow-austria-and-hungary-in-rejecting-un-migration-pact-1.3684210
Poland and the Czech Republic are set to join Hungary and Austria in pulling out of a United Nations pact on migration, as populist central European governments attack the deal before it is even signed.
The Global Compact For Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration was agreed in July by all UN members except the United States, and sets out norms for protecting and integrating people who migrate and ways to help them return home.
“It is very likely that, like Austria, the Czech Republic and the United States, we will not be part of the UN global compact,” Polish prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Friday.
That’s the general idea. You’ve never been to Russia, don’t speak Russian, and have no clue.
There are economies of scale in things like that. Hungary built things like radar in the Second World War, something which few other countries managed to do, and probably Hungary was the smallest country to do so. Building nukes or heavy bombers (even heavy tanks) were not affordable for Hungary. The USSR was ten times the size of Hungary in terms of population, with an even bigger difference before 1938 (15-20 times larger population), so it’s unsurprising it could afford some major weapons projects Hungary couldn’t.
Anyway, of course the USSR had some technological sophistication, it was not China.
About scientific achievements obviously incorrect statement (taking into account the relatively small population of Hungary).
Weren’t these made by Jews?
Was X-Files part of the conspiracy to distract WASPs from the infiltration of their country by real aliens?
As above, you are obviously very confused about the history of atomic weapons if you think Hungary had nothing to do with their production.

Being able to read, I get plenty of drama from the written word. Moreover, as I have explained elsewhere, my own thoughts are far more interesting to me than any relationship drama, which is nothing more than an annoying distraction. If women you date have nothing better to do with their time than start fights over nothing, that might be a personal problem.
Americans usually think that I’m Australian. (I’m Welsh). 1950’s Australian used to have a bit of Welsh about it. Perhaps Americans can still hear it. Canadians don’t confuse the two.
Hungary maintained its electronics capability into the 1980’s. ITV Budapest had its moment as a leading manufacturer of microcomputers and them floppy disk drives.
JBP struck me as a dead-eyed fish the first time I learned of him. I put it down to him be a college lecturer and being overly used to speaking didactically, and possibly being tired. But could be a sign of his nuttiness.
Molyneux has kind of the opposite problem – very excitable, like hinting he’s crazy. Verbal effluence, like he can’t control his mouth. It’s good that he brought up IQ and race though and also hosted a lot of the personalities involved in the subject.
I think young women like Laura Southern are good for the movement. They get eyeballs. Nothing says “antiwhite” as effectively as when there is hysteria about young white women.
That’s a rather uncharitable way to put it now, isn’t it? But then of course that’s no surprise given your irrational hatred of women. I’m quite sure you’ve stalked me under anumber of pseudonyms on this site, always with some new twist on the same tiresome old bullshit.
Now, I wonder if there is any attempt at “control” or “manipulation” that your would consider appropriate. How about this:
“You’ve been sitting on your ass playing that video game for three hours, and the lawn needs mowed. If you don’t do it, the HOA is going to fine us!”
Or this:
“Can you please take the car in for an oil change. I’ve been asking for a month.”
Or this:
“Can you please stop spending the rent money at the bowling alley?”
It seems that you proceed from the assumption that either one of the following must be true:
(1) Men never give women cause for any grievance, or
(2) Women have no right to complain about anything.
Let me tell you what women want. If you’re not going to do something, for the love of God say so directly so we can plan accordingly. Really, this is just the most basic courtesy that people owe to one another. Some other approach might work with your buddies, but then they don’t have to live with you.
Come to think of it, Thirfinnsson, your previous comment really gives you away:
IOW, attempting to find a solution to the birth dearth that doesn’t involve enslaving women is, in your view, “nonsense.” I would think that finding alternatives to slavery would be uncontroversial. Of course, I happen to think that measures much less drastic than artificial wombs would solve the problem, but I suppose you would also dismiss those as “nonsense.” As I have said, solving the problem is secondary. Enslaving women is an end in itself, and the birth dearth is but a pretext.

EDIT: Meant for @Rosie
I understand these grievances but don’t have a solution for you or other frustrated wives.
I’m not married but I have been engaged and cohabited. I take a pater familias view of things and take pride in running a tight ship.
Most men don’t like doing chickenshit (chores, right down even to things like paying bills) but not only is this not acceptable in modern society but they also feel guilty about this and don’t want to confront their wives.
Men and women have all sorts of different standards for households as well since women are nesters. My house is clean, but I also employ a maid. If I didn’t it would be dirtier (though not awful). Men are comfortable living in far different conditions than women are.
Though really you don’t need your husband to take the car in for an oil change ffs.
I think it’s well established here that I’m in favor of slavery generally.

Catch you in the salt mines Rosie 😉
Dostoevsky be like:

That’s quite interesting. I’m sure I read it somewhere, years ago. One wonders how it is possible for historians to make such a big mistake. I wish I had the book and reference, so I could look at the phrasing. If there was anything to do with age cohorts or something.
I recently heard that there was quite a lot of industrial deaths in the US during the war. (>10,000.) I wonder how many thousands of women must have died in the factories in various countries.
I’ve never “stalked” you. That accusation reflects your narcissistic tendency to turn every comment thread into being about women and yourself.
We read the same bloggers on this site, and you not infrequently flood the comment threads with unrelated comments promoting feminist views. Nobody would reply to anything you have to say otherwise.
Solutions are to be found in the day to day give and take of life:
Rosie: Honey, don’t forget to take the car in for an oil change.
Mr. Rosie: I’m playing a game with the boys. Would you mind doing it this time? I’ll grill those pork chops tonight, so you don’t have to worry about dinner.
Rosie: OK sounds good.
Of course, if you’re married to Sean Connery, this conversation never happens.
Unfortunately, numerous commenters here not infrequently flood various comment threads with threats and insults against women. Yet, you are bent out of shape that one commenter here talks back. Tough!
Me, me, me. Maybe the problem is you?
It’s a common trope that’s still deployed today. I don’t know what its origin is at all.
Here’s a list of US workplace fatalities for fiscal year 2015: https://www.osha.gov/dep/fatcat/fy15_federal-state_summaries.pdf
It runs to 81 pages.
Follow the latest here: https://www.osha.gov/dep/fatcat/dep_fatcat.html
Now consider an economy in which the industry share of GDP is three times hire, there is no OSHA, equipment and procedures are inherently less safe, and there’s an all out production drive.
There were a lot of dangerous jobs back then that also simply don’t exist today. For instance no one is today employed to spend all day every day shoveling coal into a roaring furnace.
So 10,000 workplace fatalities during the war sounds eminently reasonable.
Female fatalities would obviously be lower owing to lower mobilization, fewer hours worked, and not being present in dangerous jobs. But no doubt some were killed.
For most conservatives and right wingers, the birth dearth is secondary. Having artificial wombs and clones in factories pumping out people would not solve the real problem that concerns most conservatives and right wingers. Mechanically producing people for the sake of producing people is not the end in itself. For them, the real problem is the decline of birth and the cultural context of birth in society. The cultural context is the largely monogamous, patriarchal culture accompanying childbearing and raising that prevailed until recently. This cultural context is regarded as slavery of women by feminists and many people in general today.
If you have a problem with me, I’m open to good-faith, constructive criticism.
I like you but basically the problem is that you’re a woman in a male space. Not that you didn’t know this already.
If this were the internet a decade ago you would’ve already been told “tits or gtfo”, though no doubt we’d still have white knighting dweebs objecting to that.
Congratulations on telling the truth for once in your life.
IOW, we don’t really need to secure the existence of our people and a future for White children. Family values for brown people!
News flash! Reactionary misogynists don’t care about their race, but only their sexual agenda.
As it was by our ancestors who found your vision unsatisfactory.
I’m not so sure. Sheep have already been born from artificial wombs, and sheep are large mammals. Perhaps humans would be more difficult, perhaps not. But more testing definitely needs to be done (the sheep appear normal, but who knows what sort of effects could manifest themselves). What needs to be done is a test on a closely related primate, perhaps a macaque, to make sure there are no primate problems. After it has been shown to work lower primates, then on to humans.
While not being a fan of the USSR, with or without Stalin, that regime at the end of WW II, reasonably felt a need to establish a buffer zone.
How that buffer zone was administered served to encourage the sentiment you bring up.
You don’t know what you’re talking about, as evidenced by your stated fallacies.
An example of how you didn’t reply with a substantive comeback to a substantive debunking of your BS.
I’ll make you a deal. Stop threatening to enslave me and I’ll go away. I have no interest in your conversations about history, international politics, etc, though I must admit they have helped me fall asleep once or twice.
You’ve misunderstood or deliberately misrepresented my comment, as you tend to do.
Who said anything about “family values for brown people”? Most white conservatives/rightists don’t want a feminist society in which the traditional patriarchal family and gender relations have completely broken down. Having baby making factories producing some quota of white children is not going to make up for it. They want white children produced in traditional families.
Who are these ancestors, and what vision specifically was unsatisfactory?
I have no desire to get rid of you and welcome your presence. That’s some of the other commenters who persist in trying to tangle with you logically. You’re not dumb and your takes on relationships, family, and even elections are welcome.
I skip over the other stuff or tease you about it. And it looks like you can give it right back even if you did delete your comment calling me a douchebag (thanks for the compliment).
The fact you have no interest in history, international politics, etc. is why I support your enslavement.
I think I was around 14 when I noticed the basic deficiency of females, though it took another decade to really figure it out.
“A dumb country can’t get rich without Oil. A smart country can’t get poor without Marx.”
Venezuela is probably the only country of the world that experienced both situations: a low-IQ country that first got rich through oil and then got poor through socialism
I think the two party system seems to have a kind of equilibrium that self corrects, but without old flight, democracy has not got much of a future.
Your post was as substantive as “sheep have wings” so no “substantive comeback” necessary.
Lol my achin’ sides! I didn’t know you could see my deleted comments! In real life, you can’t unsay things you said in anger. I guess unz.com is the same!
I didn’t say I have no interest in history. I just don’t have any interest in the boring history you all go on about here. As for international politics, yes I find it quite dul, but that is no reason to enslave or even disenfranchise me. I know perfectly well what I do not know, and I have the good sense to defer to those more knowledgeable than myself.
What I liked about the X-Files, besides the outre stuff which was always welcome, was the note of struggle and independence, with the necessary dependence of the main characters. It was like “The Prisoner”, infinitely worse written.
You don’t care about securing a future for White children. If you did you wouldn’t be damaging White solidarity by alienating half our people and vindicating Jewish stereotypes about proud White men.
White men have been resisting and chipping away at injustices against women for centuries. The Married Women’s Property Acts were passed by all-male legislators answerable to an all-male electorate.
If you have no interest in history, politics, etc., why do you even bother reading Karlin’s and others’ blogs, and what informs your views on feminism et al? Feelz?
Strangely, Liam Neeson, a Catholic native of Calvinist Bible Belt Ballymena, speaks with a polite Belfast accent. (Ballymena people have an accent every bit as bizarre as the Newfoundland accent). I’m guessing Neeson consciously switched to a Belfast accent due to how embarrassing it is to speak like someone from Ballymena.
They will be compliant and loyal servants of the oligarchs until they have nothing left to lose. By that time they will too weak and impotent.

Speaking of Central Asians. How much better off would they’ve been if they’d stuck with Zoroastrianism? Freddie Mercurys instead of Shamil Basayevs.
So if I understand you correctly, you want feminism and white children produced in factories so women can be free and aren’t shackled to men in monogamous unions?
The Married Women’s Property Acts were from the 19th century. They don’t represent “centuries”. In fact they were aimed at attacking centuries of precedent of British common law in which married women’s rights fell under the authority of their husbands. That legislation, just like contemporary social legislation, was driven by minorities of fanatics and activists, not by popular support.
Unless the mental state of some other commenter is of extreme interest to you, why do you bother reading her comments and questioning her as to said mental state? Feelz? Natural curiosity? Obsession? Neighborliness? Nosiness?
Back to back lying comments from you.
He has very subtle accent.
True Belfaaaaahst accent sounds tad bit different these days 🙂
Why the hell are you here?
Why? She always steers the conversation in the wrong direction. I usually scroll through her comments, but it’s an issue when too many people keep feeding her, and so I’d have to scroll through those, too. She is not interested in what we are talking about, so why should she be here forcing us to talk about feminism or gender roles or whatever it is she is interested in?
Why We Fight
I just bumped into Lactatia, the 8 (or now 9 or perhaps 10) year old boy who is a drag queen, encouraged by his proud parents.
This is the video I saw of him last year:
http://en.protothema.gr/warning-disturbing-video-8-year-old-boy-drag-queen-in-canada/
And this is a newer one:
https://news.iheart.com/featured/theresa/content/2018-01-16-meet-the-8-year-old-boy-who-transforms-into-a-drag-queen-video/
But you can find many other pictures and videos of him.
The first video has the satanic message of “do whatever you want,” and if your parents say no, you just need new parents.
Thanks for conforming to the stereotype that most women are incredibly dull persons with zero interest in General knowledge which is a marker for intelligence. Without the sexual angle most men would have difficulty in conversing with a woman for 10 minutes. I am always amused at the fact that so many of these Journalists you see on TV are women and that representation is as credible as the black scientists you see in Hollywood movies. Now they are inflicting female sports commentators on us when by and large women have no interest in sports. Why the fuck do you insist on invading our space when we have absolutely no interest in whatever interests you.
I will give you an example the Guardian had one of the finest comment boards in the anglosphere and despite its politics was a quality newspaper until one of your kind Katherine Viner took over as its first female editor. She shut down comments on everything of importance except those cult marx sexual issues. They barely cover and editorialize any important geopolitical and have turned into an agony aunt rag thereby driving out all the commentators who made that place so interesting.
How’s that for female incompetence.
The idea of a diversitarian, new world order US with “rods from God” is pretty scary.
The Left has a natural fear of invisible things like radiation or chemical poisons. I’m not sure that applies to telephone pole-sized rods of tungsten, shot from orbit. However, if they have lead cores that will probably trigger the Gaia reflex.
Though it was cool when Jerry Pournelle talked about it.
Once I applied for my university’s team for a general knowledge competition. Out of maybe 40 applicants, there was not a single woman (although there was a tranny).
I travel internationally a lot and before the advent of smart phones the only way to pass time in the airport lounge was to read newspapers and I used to look for women reading newspapers, and you guessed the answer – an extremely rare event and even then I suspect they were reading the celebrity gossip section. Women are responsible for the tabloidization of much of formerly serious newspapers.
I find her amusing and not particularly distracting.
That you react this way could be a good thing as well if you catch my drift.
I’m not convinced that the US military-industrial complex can deliver such an ambitious weapons system anymore, at least not in a reasonable time frame (let alone a reasonable cost). The US armaments procurement system has broken down this century. Consider:
• F-35
• LCS
• USS Gerald Ford
• Future Combat Systems Manned Ground Vehicles
• Ground Combat Vehicle
• Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle
• V-22
• Zumwalt-class destroyer
• Advanced Gun System
These big ticket programs are all either ruinously expensive disasters that don’t work or were cancelled outright after years of failure. It’s not just big ticket programs either, they’ve literally been mucking up things like parachutes (T-11 cargo parachute) and uniforms (every service except the Marines bungled this).
The last successful major programs seem to have been the Virginia-class submarine and the F-22 (which the galactic brain of Robert Gates saw fit to cancel since Russians and Chinese are obviously too stupid to design 5th generation fighters).
I can’t imagine this sort of never-ending procurement disaster will be allowed to continue forever, but so far it really is. No one even seems upset that our laughably expensive new aircraft carrier can’t launch or recover aircraft and its weapons elevators don’t work either.
Then there’s the issue of cost. I’m closer to the MMT side than the monetarist side on monetary questions, but I don’t support their idea that deficits and debt are a free lunch. There is some kind of limit, and we don’t know what that limit is. We’re now nine years into an economic expansion and yet have budget deficits nearing 5% of GDP. This at a time when entitlement spending (pensions and elderly healthcare) is set to rise owing to the aging population.
The US remains very powerful, but I’m extremely skeptical about the idea that it will add much to its military power anymore.
After 9/11, Pournelle mentioned one of his ideas regarding it. Basically, you’d give warning ahead of time – and say something like, “We are obliterating ten square city blocks of Kabul on Thursday. They will become your Central Park – a monument to our power. Do not ever build on them again, or whammo! You’ll get more rods!”
Of course, the SLS is a joke, and I’m not sure how willing private companies would be to lift the stuff, if they ever do develop cheap launch. There may be a reluctance to weaponize space because of the Kessler syndrome.
Major ‘anti-zog’ blogger Aangirfan has been shut down after 14 years and thousands of posts, another big event in the Great Internet WrongThink Purge
Aangirfan has been perhaps the most courageous truthing female on the internet, blogging for 14 years since 2004
She covered with immense courage, the paedophilic abuse and violation of children in Britain and around the world; the actions of Zionist and other mafias; and the corruption of elites in general
Truly neither Left nor Right, Aangirfan did tho cover how the migration waves were a manipulation
Aangirfan’s current blog that was taken down, had four years of postings numbering a few thousand, but was suddenly vapourised … tho her former ‘frozen and locked’ blog, with 10 years of articles 2004-14, is still showing, for the moment
Also, how Julian Assange & Edward Snowden are ‘rat traps’ to silence, destroy, kill real dissidents who contact them via their pumpers, such as Rothschild employee Glenn Greenwald, with Assange served by a Rothschild family lawyer … whilst there is no big move to shut down Assange’s funding sources, partners etc., curiously enough
Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu long ago boasted “Assange is talking to us and nothing will be released [by Wikileaks] that will hurt us”
Zbigniew Brzezinski, on USA National Public Radio (NPR) on 2 December 2010, blurted out that “Wikileaks is a front for an intelligence agency”, providing “seeded chickenfeed”
One big proof of Assange & Snowden being intel hoaxes, is how neither of them will say a word about USA Virginia federal judge bribery scandals, which have blocked other extraditions to the USA … yet Assange & Snowden seem curiously un-interested in what would save both of them from being extradited
Assange seems clearly not be actually ‘living in the London Ecuador embassy’, but just moved in-and-out … and similarly, it is not clear that ‘Edward Snowden’ is even in Russia … Putin has openly hinted Snowden is an intel hoax, tho he plays along as Russia has long done on major US-Israeli intel projects, such as 9-11
Aside from the fact that ordnance would be delivered faster, this doesn’t seem to greatly add to our military capabilities against that sort of a threat. A single squadron of B-52s can deliver 420 tons of high explosives for instance. It won’t be within minutes, but it can be done within 24 hours.
It does add to capabilities against great powers, which also makes it inherently destabilizing and thus dangerous to deploy. “Rods of God” for instance seems like an excellent way to take out land-based missile silos with no warning.
The end of the euro might be near.
https://www.barrons.com/articles/the-euros-demise-will-happen-sooner-than-many-people-expect-1542406392
Would it not also be easy to deploy for Russia and China, too? The Russians might lack the electronics capabilities to use them accurately enough, but it could be used for aerial bombardment, which seems easy enough.
i agree it’s quite possible they’ll only snap after it’s too late
Me neither. But I personally believe that some of these will work at the end of the day, like the F-35 or the Ford carrier. Yes, they will cost a fortune, but still.
Jewish
this is the key point about the anti-female angle taken by the alt-sphere – some of it is justified but some of it is deliberate divide and rule / deflection.
when an economic theory is ignoring money, debt and usury you can be pretty certain they’re banking mafia.
This is how it always is with you dissident Right menfolk. You feel perfectly justified in making whatever rude side comments about women you want, but then if we object, we’re derailing the conversation. My offer stands: the men stop threatening and insulting women, embarrassing this whole movement, and I’ll leave you alone.
(To be fair, rT, you do not insult women, but then you remain silent when others do. Worse yet, when a flare up ensues, you blame it on the defense rather than the first aggressor. And please don’t accuse me of asking for a White knight. I’m perfectly capable of defending myself. I just find it supremely ridiculous when I’m criticized for doing so.)
There would no difference.
When actors are taught to do an Australian accent they are told to do a cockney accent whilst squinting, makes sense that is where it comes from, all those cockney convicts unused to the bright sun.
No, you don’t understand me correctly.
This is what you don’t understand. Fathers routinely circumvented that particular British common law with the separate estate, and chancery court judges happily upheld these devices, because they didn’t much care for the doctrine of couverture, either. Like a typical know-it-all, insolent reactionary, you claim to know better than the very judges who were intimately familiar with all the travesties that resulted from this doctrine.
Prove it. (Not that it would make much difference anyway.)

How very interesting. I’m interested in:
Literature
Philosophy
Mathematics
Theology
Art
But for heavens sake, I don’t care for international politics, so I’m “dull.”
Seriously, this kind of stupidity is a disgrace.
The useful idiocy quotient U-IQ is very high in the alt-sphere.
That appears appear to be the implication of your views.
Fathers did this because they were feminists? Or because they were looking after their own male dominated family wealth, from which any woman’s property or estate would derive? A woman’s father and brothers had an incentive in preventing their family’s wealth passing into another man’s hands via marriage.
You sound like a leftist, arguing that exceptions were the rule. There were some random blacks in London a few hundred years ago, therefore Britain was always diverse. There were homos in ancient Greece, therefore gay rights is normal. Etc.
It was the case for similar legislation, like women’s suffrage. Then, just as now, the silent majority was drowned out by the noisy minority. This article is from 1903:
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1903/09/why-women-do-not-wish-the-suffrage/306616/
Protip, nobody does. It has to be done anyways.
Lol, were you the only child in your parents’ family?
What about during deportation of Hungarian Jews to death camps in summer of 1944? What method was used?
No, it’s not “just a name”, but a contradiction, like “Berkeleyan realism”, which can only show person who uses it does not understand one or other word in the conjunction.
Marxism–Leninism, is a modification, which broke parts of the original theory, but was not contradicting it completely – while “cultural Marxism” is self-contradiction of the most fundamental part of Marxism.
So we are on the internet message board, where standards of discussion are very low. Still there are some levels of stupidity, which are bit too embarrassing even in a place like this.
The Polish GDP per capita in 10 years:
2008: $14,000
2017: $14,000
China for reference
2008: $3,500
2017: $9,000
I would not be so optimistic about the future of Poland. The economy is stalled.
I feel very sorry for you, having been exposed to such a poor selection of women
Such predictions have never been out of the news since 1998. (That’s right, a year before it was launched). In the English language, the EU has been on the verge of collapse since at least 1974.
I agree the cockney dominates but they weren’t just cockneys. A lot of Australian words, “Cobber” is the leading example, come from East Anglia. Most Southern Hemisphere accents sound a bit cockney. It may be something to do with the time the colonies were established, long after North America.
The strongest men (including Jews) were kept in Hungary to build field fortifications for the military.
The camps were transit and sorting stations. Many camps were close to major industrial centers (e.g. Auschwitz was next to a huge industrial complex built by I.G. Farben) and were themselves important labor centers, but not all were.
There was a great demand for labor in the Reich (production was skyrocketing in 1944), so many were selected from the camps and shipped onto the Reich to work in factories, farms, mines, etc. Mortality rates for foreign workers within the Reich was high for a variety of reasons.
The Armaments Ministry was in fact excited about the occupation of Hungary (despite the drain on Wehrmacht resources) because they wanted to get their hands on Hungarian Jewish labor. They were initially disappointed since the military reserved the best for themselves initially.
Supposedly those unfit for labor were marked for execution immediately, allegedly by gassing (or, earlier, by bullet). As the revisionists point out evidence proving this does not seem to exist. I consider it an irrelevant detail in that even without the gas chambers, mass shootings, etc. Nazi policy quite deliberately caused mas deaths.
A fair number of Hungarian Jews also managed to escape, or camouflage themselves by collaborating with the Nazis as George Soros did. I am not sure how many did so.
People who don’t know the difference between nominal GDP and purchasing power parity GDP should be barred from commenting on economic issues.
Poland’s GDP PPP per capita now exceeds $30,000. Poland is now officially a high-income country according to the World Bank.
Here’s a simple chart comparing Poland to the hapless Ukraine (ends in 2015):

Poland is in fact one of the most successful post-communist European economies.
yes – Marx’s original theory was wrong so Gramsci changed the theory.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Gramsci
This is dumb.
Militant Christianity is also an embarrassing contradiction and a million other things. There are almost too many historical examples.
Words have no intrinsic meanings except what we give them and change and mutate all the time, often to mean exactly the opposite of what they started out as.
You’re not going to affect any one by claiming cultural Marxism means something now that contradicts the original concepts. This is quite in line with the historical development of language.
That’s only so if you believe that “monogamous unions” require the enslavement women, which is a precisely a matter of dispute.
I assume they were looking out for the wellbeing of their beloved daughters. You wouldn’t understand.
They were not exceptions. Even if they were, who cares? The point is that the end of couverture began in the courts and progressed over time as a result of judicial dissatisfaction with the outrageous consequences of the doctrine in actual cases.
Now, we’re talking about women’s suffrage I see? Women didn’t want the vote, therefore they must have wanted to be slaves.
Listen here, Moshe. Send me a worthier opponent, already. Seriously. This lightweight can’t be the best you’ve got.
Do you believe the 1950s was characterized by the “enslavement of women”?
In that period, a woman’s property would’ve derived from her father, brothers, other male relations, an ex-husband, etc. By preventing the transfer of property to a son-in-law, property would’ve been preserved in the father’s family, which would’ve been male dominated anyway.
They were exceptions. And I agree with you here: this, like other social legislation in recent times, was a product of judicial activism, not popular support.
Women’s suffrage was a major issue and there’s lots of data on it compared to more obscure legislation. The extremely low popular support for women’s suffrage gives us an idea of the general popular perception of these issues.
The Communist Manifesto is full of what now we would call “cultural Marxist” ideas.
Relative to WWI and enjoyment, there’s this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXcs1Vv3YlE and the youtube comment under it which I find hilarious, due to “Sammy Whitely”:
Do you believe the 1950s was characterized by the “enslavement of women”?
Asked and answered, but once again for the record, no.
This is complete and total nonsense. Fathers used what were essentially 18th century prenuptial agreements to ensure that women inherited, owned, controlled, disposed of, and alienated their own property. The “father’s family” did not continue to control the property.
Citation needed.
“Social Legislation” by definition cannot be the product of judicial activism. Activist judges cannot pass statutes. Moreover, activist judges could not enforce property settlements unless fathers chose to devise them.
IOW, you admit you cannot prove your extraordinary claim that women liked being slaves and fathers were perfectly content to suffer the enslavement of their daughters.
You’re casually throwing around the words “slaves” and “enslavement”. You should clarify what you mean by those terms.
Where did women get any property in the 18th century? England had primogeniture. Any property women had in those days would’ve been bequeathed to them by their male relations. And any property women did have in those days was greatly subject to the influence of their male relations, including any sons.
Judicial activism means that the personal views and opinions on public policy guide the judges, rather than actual law. That is what you suggested happened above:
“The point is that the end of couverture began in the courts and progressed over time as a result of judicial dissatisfaction with the outrageous consequences of the doctrine in actual cases.”
Please explain what you mean by “slaves” and “enslavement”. We can’t argue about terms that aren’t clearly explained. Do you regard the lack of women’s suffrage as constituting “enslavement”? What about primogeniture?
You know that’s fantasy and was an utterly impossible position to take for the USSR after WWII.
I think it’s pretty well established that Dostoevsky had an almost pathological hatred for Poles, Germans and Jews. If you’re still in doubt after his fiction, you only need to read his Priss-Factory-tier rants in his ‘Writer’s Diary’ to see it. He was not an attractive character. Turgenev referred him as ‘a pimple on the nose of Russian literature’, which Dostoevsky responded with an admittedly spot-on though extremely vicious portrait of him in ‘Demons’.
No, it only recurs as the running theme in all of his major novels. People have a problem reconciling that a person can be a complete POS and still be capable of great art, thinking that one must exclude the other, eg. Polanski.
That’s another funny thing, Gogol like Dostoevsky had predominantly Polish roots.
Gogol was 1/4 Polish, 3/4 Little Russian-Ukrainian.
The creature is triggered by the far right/alt right intending to “restore patriarchy” so this is why it is hanging around in right wing places. I’v seen it in other places too. It hopes that if it spams lot’s of comments in right wing sites then it is going to stop something or save feminism. Ha ha.
It is not that the alt right is going to care about it, lol. This thing is virtual nobody. Hence the desperation and the spam in various places.
Newsflash – the far right/alt right is heavily male dominated, so it will push male views about society. And these guys don’t care about feminist desperation too much. Their hearts are cold for creatures like this.
So just ignore it, as it is attention that it craves. What it will hate the most will be if people do not care about it and it’s pleas and simply ignore it. 🙂
He wrote great novels.
If you think the women you’ve been exposed to are happy to do chores, you’re sorely mistaken. You will crash back to reality soon and it will hurt.
Women hate chores as much as all other human beings do. It’s just that it is easier (for many reasons) to convince women to do boring and routine jobs. If you’re ever hired people or done HR work you know what I mean.
Of course Dostoevsky was a talented writer. I was actually responding to someone who characterised your quote as slander, nothing in it should be surprising to anyone with any familiarity with Dostoevsky’s personality.
That quote:
“He (Dostoyevski) tried to deny that anyone produced anything beautiful, great, or noble, as if wishing to destroy, wipe out, cover up all human achievement in order to prove that Russians were superior to everybody in the world.”
obvious and utter slander:
Here is for example Dostoevsky writes about Schiller:
“You wrote to me, brother, that I didn’t read Schiller. Wrong, brother! I memorized Schiller, talked about him, raved about him; and I think that nothing better did fate in my life, as gave me to know the great poet in this era of my life…. Reading Schiller, I believed in the noble, fiery don Carlos, and the Marquis Pose, and Mortimer. This friendship (with Schiller) has brought me so much grief and pleasure!”
This Dostoevsky wrote in his youth. But before his death, he read for his children the same Schiller.
I can provide other examples, but I think this is enough
You’ve really never met a woman who enjoyed cooking or cleaning?
there are always some individuals who get bitter over personal experiences but most of the extreme anti-female stuff is divide and rule promoted by people who want white genocide.
While very much identifying with Russia.
Those aren’t chores, hombre. There are men who enjoy cooking or cleaning, when it suits their mood.
I’m afraid you might be suffering the same syndrom Dostoyevksy did. I am sure that in relation to your children you are also less combative and contentious and even show magnanimity of spirit. But when dealing with foreigners is a different story.
That’s about my thoughts too.
The rods would be basically unstoppable. They would be bunker busting. There would be no countermeasures. But, among third world countries B-52s are roughly the same. And they can use bunker-busting bombs. I guess one difference is how it could be a threat to middle-tier countries with SAMs, but no nukes, or only a small supply. I guess it would probably involve less people too, provided the platforms already existed.
There may be a reluctance to deploy them though, even if it were possible. Weaponizing space would be fraught with many dangers, like Kessler syndrome, if the weapons platforms are targeted by another space power.
i haven’t read it for decades so maybe so
however after the Soviet revolution Marxists (at least in the West) became split between two camps – the first (gradually shrinking) camp still believed in Marx’s historical inevitability prediction while the second (gradually growing) camp accepted Gramsci’s view that capitalist cultural hegemony prevented that historical inevitability from playing out – hence cultural Marxism.
Yeah, he identified with its gloomy, mendacious society and people. He always felt more at home with his own Ukrainian countrymen. As he got older and more depressed, his circle of Russian friends increased more and more…As a younger man his interests in the north were driven by his need to make a comfortable living and to gain the fame he desired as a writer. His writing was ever more so critical of the Muscovites than of the Ukrainians. Do we really need to trot out some of his quotations where he longs for the Ukraine of his youth, far away from the cold and heartless north?
???
Any arguments?
Interesting observations.
In a point unrelated to the X-files but looking at your “reversion” comment, I remember the film “Predators?. Normally I don’t watch that sci-fi type of crap, but this was a very decent film
There’s a big Russian guy (Taktarov) in the group of people trying to kill the aliens, he’s a Chechen war veteran, spetsnaz ….so all set-up for more Hollywood dimwitted characterisation of Russians….but no…he’s a thoroughly good guy, loyal to the group, the only one of the group with a family, non-smoker,…..who gets backstabbed by an American slimeball psycho who betrays him after the Russian guy saves him
I’m sure there is some politcal metaphor there, and in the film in general.
It has the usual, mass-killer who turns out to have some “goodness” or heroic qualities in him, the one normal guy in the group being an educated American doctor…who turns out to be a manipulative psycho and the main villain….and the two main heroes being jews…1 in the IDF, and the main good guy being an American mercenary who though not referenced as jewish, is played by a jewish guy who looks very jewish.
So in summary, pro-Russian,pro-jewish, anti-American……it must obviously be a secret Communist film.
err…he was about as Russian as it gets you dumb POS vermin lowlife. His life, works, all prove this………not some conveniently selected random garbage that some wikipedia falsifying tramp as yourself does to try and overcome this insecurity.
Funnily enough…WTF is a “great Polish writer” you idiot? It’s a contradiction in concept.
but it is amusing of how fake the country is of Ukraine…are that it’s only defenders are fantasist **tard tramps who don’t live, donate, visit there, don’t know the language, , fantasise about being “ukrainian”…by fantasising about being Austrian and polish (seriously)>..whilst from America/Canada that you vermin fled to in disgrace after WW2, from a place that was gifted to “Ukraine” by Stalin and no historical connection to the fake state!
Even more funny and definitive of how artificial Ukraine is, is that all their great revered people in culture, art, music, science, engineering are the same people revered by Russia and viewed as out own…because they are.
Whilst Russia is partaking in the very good “Great name of Russia” project to name 47 airports …it would be politically impossible for Ukraine to do this because if they did, without Nazi pressure, they would select Russians/Tsar-era/Soviet Union era heros ( and even tsar’s directly and Soviet military heroes) …maybe as a joke they could name one airport after the ethnic pole, Kosier, who headed Ukraine CP ,in the build up to the ficititious Golodmor
In Dead Souls, the ghostly characterizations aren’t necessarily from your dreaded north. Inspector General was a clever satire, which the governing czar at the was known to have liked.
He did take pride from the part of the Russian Empire where he was from. As he got older and more well traveled, he increased his appreciation for Russia (Russian Empire).
When he got older, after writing one of his masterpieces ‘Dead Souls’ depicting the dark and mercantile nature of Russian life and its people, he went into a great depression that tailspined into a self imposed hunger strike that eventually led to his tragic demise. Some refer to this incident as one where life imitates art, in effect Gogol becoming the author of his own death (suicide). So much for Gogol’s ‘increased appreciation for Russia’ and its national mentality. 🙁
His attitude towards Russia was ambivalent and varied. Initially he was critical, and Russian contemporaries considered him to be a rude and exotic foreigner who made fun of Russia. Later he became a Russian nationalist. This coincided, unfortunately, with his mental illness.
Once again, that depiction in Dead Souls doesn’t specifically refer to the Russian people as you define as such.
Gogol was never anti-Russian, with his appreciation of Russia increasing with more experience with living in other areas. His increased appreciation occurred before any perceived breakdown of mental capacity
His criticism was of a constructive type, which some (not all) Russians didn’t appreciate. As he got older, he became more conservative and patriotic – before any noticeable/perceived breakdown of his mental state.
In the present era, it’s not uncommon for some to become more conservative and patriotic as they get older. After traveling abroad, he developed a greater appreciation for Russia. Gogol was never anti-Russian. He was quite critical of Poland’s imperial past.
And ‘once again’ (oh, no), you’re incorrect as ususal:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Souls
You’re wrong again as usual. You link a Wiki spin, which doesn’t factually show who he was specifically referring to in Dead Souls.
Interesting how Wiki appears to comparatively downplay Gogol’s opposition to Polish imperialism.
That Gogol criticized certain aspects in Russian society didn’t make him anti-Russian. In addition to using a certain n word, Dave Chappelle has skits which are quite critical of some African-American traits. Anyone familiar with Chapelle, knows he’s not in the so-called self hating category.
Gogol had in mind all of the Russian characters within his novel. You’re desperately trying to clutch at straws when bringing up ‘Polish Imperialism’. Polish imperialism was not a topic within ‘Dead Souls’, and neither was the link that I included, so what the hell are you blabbering about, you hot windbag??…
Russian critics in Gogol’s time, such as F. Tolstoy, N. Grech and Bulgarin explicitly stated that here was a foreigner that came to Russia and made fun of it. Gogol’s works were dismissed as “strained Little Russian satire against Great Russian civil servants.”
It is funny how later Russian nationalists erase such critiques from memory when they try to “steal” Gogol as a Russian person.
Starving himself to death, burning his works while coming under the influence of some guru is not becoming “more conservative and patriotic.”
Check his youthful writings.
You’re the one who is desperate here. Taras Bulba and another work of his was highly critical of Poland’s imperial legacy. In comparison, he never same close to being anti-Russian. With that especially in mind, some of the characters in Dead Souls could very well be the early day likes of yourself.
You can’t steal what’s already yours. Somewhat bizarre how some anti-Russian leaning Polish nationalists falsely spin Gogol.
Once again, some Russians not liking him is in the so what category. Many others did, thereby explaining his recognition in Russia and elsewhere as one of that country’s greatest literary figures. Once again, the ruling czar at the time was known to have liked Gogol’s Inspector General – proof positive of how Russians (at least some of them) can love their country, while feeling okay with some pointed criticism of it – along the lines of the earlier mentioned (at this thread) Dave Chappelle comparison.
When Gogol was in the West (as a kind of right of passage among the nobility and/or intelligentsia), he was frequently in contact with fellow Russian subjects. On his own, he returned to Russia, becoming more patriotic, before there was any semblance of some kind of mental breakdown on his part.
Well, Russians who lived in Gogol’s time had a different opinion from some guy calling himself Mikhail who has never been to Russia in his life and who couldn’t even be bothered to learn the Russian language.
I quoted a Russian critic. Why your obsession with Polish nationalists?
You already attempted to pass that off troll. In a substantive manner, you didn’t directly reply to the follow-up. Such are your limits.

What’s your obsession with trying to reinvent what Gogol actually was on top of your mention of “Russian nationalists”? You’re essentially parroting what a Polish nationalist leaning source had unconvincingly tried to claim of Gogol. That aspect includes the false portrayal that some (not all) Russian dislikes of Gogol constitutes a Russian majority, which clearly hasn’t been the case.
They much rather prefer him over you, who repeats a lie, while being intellectually limited.
No, you and Russian nationalists reinvent Gogol. Russian sources from Gogol’s own time tell a different and more realistic story.
In Gogol’s time, conservative critics condemned him as a foreigner who insulted Russia. His Russian defenders were mostly Russian liberals such as Belinsky. Then, as now, they appreciated a foreigner shitting on their country.
Like the tsar of that period who was known to have liked Gogol’s Inspector General .
Your fixations are quite dense. Many Russian patriots then and now can simultaneously love and criticize their country.
Here’s further ‘proof’ of Gogol’s endearing love for the Muscovites, and total disregard for Poles:
http://www.wumag.kiev.ua/index2.php?param=pgs20033/52
So you are unable to read the only language you know. Review my post. I will bold it for you to aid your reading comprehension:
“His Russian defenders were mostly Russian liberals such as Belinsky.”
Did you understand now?
Moreover the Tsar, who was probably amused by insults of Russians, was mostly German.
Sure. However Gogol’s contemporary conservative Russian critics, who knew and understood him much more than you do, did not think that he simultaneously loved and criticized Russia.
Will you argue that Poroshenko and Tymoshenko are Russians, who simply criticize “their” country because according to your logic that’s what Russian patriots do? These people, unlike Gogol, probably grew up speaking Russian.
Here is Gogol’s friend Aksakov describing his impression of Gogol when he was in the company of his Ukrainian friends:
The three khokhols [Gogol, Maksymovich and Bodiansky] were charming. They sang without music and Gogol read to me some dumy of the Ukrainian Homer [probably shevchenko]. Gogol recited and the others merely gesticulated and whooped..I, Khomiakov and Soloviev enjoyed the expression of nationality, but without much sympathy. Soloviov’s smile betrayed contempt, Khomiakov’s laughter a kind-hearted mockery, and I found it simply amusing to look at them as at some Chuvashes or Cheremisses..and nothing more.”
So in the eyes of those who knew actually him a foreigner, not just some guy from another Russian province.
Later Russian nationalists transformed him into some sort of Russian. It’s a habit – for example, a Ukrainian-speaking Polish guy from Ukraine, Kazimierz Malewicz, is celebrated by them as a Russian painter. A particularly funny example was the Academy award winner Jack Palance:
http://www.legacy.com/news/celebrity-deaths/article/jack-palance-9-facts-and-a-rumor
He was a Ukrainian nationalist who showed up to a Russian award ceremony where he was given an award against his will, refused the award and told everyone he wasn’t a Russian.
Here, in Gogol’s own words, he characterizes the Russian people:
His satire, born out of the warm, Ukrainian national humour, loses much of its benign and humane features in the cold and foreign city of St Petersburg and turns into a demoniac and malicious lampoon, because, in his own words, he could see only
http://www.wumag.kiev.ua/index2.php?param=pgs20033/52
It really couldn’t be any more clearer, Mickey, how your Russian super nationalist really felt about the Russian people that inhabited St. Petersburg:
“the coarse and ugly vulgarity of coarse and ugly people.”
Ukraine is the most mismanaged country relative to human capital, so the comparison is not a good reference point for demonstrating national success.
Overall, have former Soviet satellites done well? Other than Slovenia and Czechia has anyone of them entered the first world? (First world status is a blurry definition and World Bank and IMF criterias don’t match popular conception. I think only Slovenia and Czechia are generally seen as first world countries from emerging Europe.) So over 25 years after the downfall of communism, Poland isn’t a first world country and nowhere near reaching it. It’s median age is also 40 and rising. Unlike China’s aging, Poland is actually going to need to pay the pensioners because they can vote (retirement age lowered in Poland in 2017). So Poland being an above country among a moderately successful set with unimpressive future prospects points to a stalled country economically.
BS coming from an anti-Russian Pole. Gogol never took an anti-Russian position to the degree he did with being anti-Polish imperialist. Moreover, Gogol had interaction with mainstream Russians in the West, who didn’t see him as anti-Russian. All this explains why he’s universally considered a great Russian literary figure in Russia and elsewhere. I accept the view that he’s a great Ukrainian writer as well.
As previously noted, Gogol had a sarcastic side along the lines of Dave Chappelle using certain n word and having skits with social criticism of the African-American community.
Like the Poles and especially Ukrainians haven’t had non-Slavic influences. Try telling a Finn or Russian that they’re so closely related along the lines of the above BS.
Svido revisionism gone berserk along the lines of the svido revisionist Taras Bulba, which inserts the word Ukraine. Much different from the scholarly accounts to the contrary.
When did Gogol ever honor Mazepa? Meantime, he definitely opposed Polish imperialism.
Only Gogol was proud to be identified with Russia, thereby making your Palance missive idiotic. BTW, it has been frequently stated that Palance was of Polish background – actually Polish-Ukrainian.
Another idiotic analogy of yours concerns Poroshenko and Tymoshenko. They don’t identify with being a part of Russia. Gogol did, whether you like it or not – in addition to his clear opposition to Polish imperialism.
As for expropriating, Natalie Wood was clearly of a Russian Orthodox Christian background. That hasn’t stopped some Poles from calling her Polish on account of her family having lived for awhile in a Polish area of the Russian Empire.
You’ve failed to show that most Russians disliked Gogol. That some of them did is by no means all or the majority. This is evidenced by how he’s revered as a great Russian writer in Russia and elsewhere.
Right here, read for yourself excerpts taken directly from Gogol’s published texts:
https://epdf.tips/nikolai-gogol-between-ukrainian-and-russian-nationalism.html
It seems that you’re confusing a long winded link with some (mis)interpretations on what Gogol actually expressed – a clear preference for Russia over Poland, as evidenced by his works and where he willingly chose to live.
While visiting in the West, he was in the company of mainstream Russians who appreciated him. If he hated Russia so much, hoe wouldn’t have gone back to live in Russia proper (for lack of a better term).
The factually challenged psychobabble suggesting differently appears to be the fixations of some anti-Russian leaning folks.
It’s almost like it takes time to become a first world country.
Let’s see, do we accept the opinions of a total dilettante named Michael Averko, who never bothered to learn the Russian language either because he was too lazy to do so or because he just didn’t have the smarts (I suspect both) and his wishful thinking, or a highly respected professor of Russian and Slavic literature, whose work about Gogol based on scholarly analysis and primary sources has received high acclaim? Is there really any doubt what’s accurate and what’s total BS?
https://youtu.be/Slyzr0-qKZU
Yes it does take decades.
But
(1) they’ve had over 25 years since the fall of communism
(2) were not that badly off during communism, as Karlin has pointed out Soviet central planning was decent enough especially compared to Maoism to get 50% of what a well run capitalist system produces
(3) Poland is bogged down currently
(4) getting very old
(5) worse of all has to pay the pensions of those old voters
Poland is stuck for the rest of the century in the middle income band.
The anonymous trolling bigot is you, much unlike yours truly.
Your linking to an anti-Russian Polish nationalist leaning academic doesn’t disprove that and my other fact based points concerning Gogol.
His works and living preference clearly indicate a preference for Russia over Poland – something that no one can successfully disprove.
As weak a rebuttal as you’ve ever provided, Mickey. And rightfully so. Having butted up your head against arguments based on exact quotations of Gogol’s, this American author (not Polish), has provided us with ideas that are inimical to your own unsubstatiated preconceived notions of Gogol’s thought process regarding the Ukrainian and Russian nations. Too bad. Boo…hoo. 🙁
I posted the original in Russian, Unlike me, you can’t read Russian because you are a failed pseudo-Russian.
Your inability to deal with Slavic languages also explains why you shorten Skoropadsky to Skoro or Poroshenko to Poro.
You’re the weak one here – not me. EB isn’t Polish?
You failed to provide a direct quote from Gogol praising Mazepa. Instead, you threw a very long winded link with an excerpt that I gather is somewhere to be found in that screed. Someone claiming that Gogol praised Mazepa isn’t on par with the former clearly doing so.
Russia at large is proud to have Gogol as one of its great literary figures – a patriotic one at that. Keep trying to rewrite reality.
Your linguistic bravado doesn’t cover your idiocy as an outright flop. I’m in contact with fluent, well educated Russians, who know more about the subject than you.
In informal discussions, fluent Russian and/or Ukrainian speakers have used Skoro and Poro for shorthand, you imbecile.
If calling Mazepa the ‘extraordinary ruler‘ of his people, isn’t praise, I don’t know what is?
I wont argue with you that Gogol was a Russian writer, and a Ukrainian one too, but to call him a ‘patriotic’ Russian writer is the height of folly and displays your strange predilection to try and twist reality to fit your preconceived, untenable notions.
The quotation that is highlighted is directly attributable to Gogol’s own published text.
No name given. Mazepa wasn’t known as dear leader, glorious leader or extraordinary ruler.
On the subject of Poles knowing Gogol, I earlier noted to you someone I know of a Russian aristocratic background, whose family relations were in contact with Gogol when he was in the West (Italy if I correctly recall). This person’s family is of Polish and Belarusian backgrounds, with some Georgian mixed in as well. The personal account stories about Gogol were passed thru the generations in that family.
Said person isn’t at all convinced by the new found psychobabble that Gogol was either forcefully coerced and/or went mad, resulting in his becoming more pro-Russian.
Which doesn’t make you any of those things.
Mazepa was mentioned. You are simply unable to understand Cyrillic.
Gogol about Mazepa’s conflict with Peter:
http://feb-web.ru/feb/gogol/texts/ps0/ps9/ps9-083-.htm
“This power, this gigantic might, plunged the independent state [samobytnoe gosudarstvo] remaining merely under the protection of Russia, into despondency. The people that belonged to Peter as private property, demeaned by slavery and despotism, submitted, though with grumbling. It was not only necessity but need, as we shall see later, that led them to submit. Their extraordinary ruler strove to elevate them, but his medicine was too strong. But what could be expected of a people so different from the Russians, who breathed freedom and robust Cossackdom and wished to live their own way of life? They were threatened by a loss of nationality [Gogol’s word: natsionalnost] and by having their rights made to a greater or lesser extent equal with the people who were personally owned by the Russian autocrat.”
Typical Ukrainian nationalist tropes – Russians are slaves to a despot, Ukrainians are a free people.
Someone has never heard of the “telephone game.”
Gogol’s own words in those times provide the truth.
Poland’s problem is the same as everywhere else – neoliberal economic policy in the context of a globalized labor supply.
Low wages = low demand so the only way a low wage economy can lift off to become a rich one is if they have a pool of rich countries they can sell to while gradually letting their own wage level rise – but at the same time the process of shifting production to lower wage economies has caused stagnation and decline in the once richer countries so everywhere is currently converging to a 2nd world level as part of a downward spiral.
I expect Poland’s position relative to the West will improve as the west continues to sinks but in absolute terms i don’t think it will ever reach the old western levels of prosperity cos no one in Europe is going to be living at those levels while the world is in the grip of banking mafia economics.
Nah, it can’t be. The real truth lies in the mind of the super Russian patriot, Mike Averko, who always knows best. Gogol must have been coerced by somebody to write those things (or they were forgeries written by some rotten svido type), he couldn’t have really meant them, because according to Averko Gogol was great Russian patriot! Great Russian patriots detest Mazepa and speak fondly of Peter. 🙂
Hack’s Law
Don’t be jealous! When you write about something that I have some semblance of knowledge about, I chime in:
1) P/E ratios of Tesla
2) quality and aesthetic comparisons of alligator shoes vs lizard skin ones
3) economies of scale resulting from the annexation of Canada by the US
You’re more special than Averko, remember I’ve already labeled you the modern day ‘F Scott Fitzgerald’ of UNZ lore. I just can’t help myself from helping Averko dig a deeper and deeper hole for himself. I hope that you’ve been at least minimally entertained by the Averko-AP-Hack discussion regarding Gogol? I’ll return to you yet. 🙂
Oh, pardon me, I almost forgot, perhaps, the most important category of topic that you’ve brought up (actually, you haven’t brought up this topic too much lately?):
4) relative merit of large vs small female boob size
(I suspect that Rosie is having some positive influences over your thought process?). 🙂
You certainly don’t qualify as such. Meantime, the aforementioned, well educated fluent Russian speakers greatly appreciate my input on a number of issues.
No mention at all of Mazepa by name in your posted excerpt. Slavophiles weren’t Peter the Great fans. That aspect doesn’t necessarily make them pro-Mazepa. Admiring the Cossacks isn’t be default a support for Mazepa. His downfall greatly resulted from the majority of Cossacks not going along with his betrayal move from Russia to Sweden and its weaker Polish ally.
I’ll bow to you when proven wrong which hasn’t occurred in these exchanges. I’m by no means alone in my fact based observations. Like the Svidos and Polish nationalists know better on Gogol than the Russian consensus which embraces him.
Look Mickey, I understand that views inimical to your own highly irrational ones, made by Gogol himself, regarding Mazepa and Peter fly directly into your face and are unpleasant to bear, but hey, the truth is the truth, and sometimes as they say, the truth hurts. Buck up Mickey, tomorrow is another day, and one where you can continue to spread your mindless Russophilism to others that don’t attempt to scratch the surface of unwarranted stereotypical views. As AP has already pointed out:
Huff and puff all you want, you two have yet to show a direct quote from Gogol lauding Mazepa.
Likewise with the nouveau psychobabble history that appears to be influenced by anti-Russian leaning Polish nationalists and Svidos.
Noone is huffing or puffing old man, except fir you, who is mentally challenged when it comes to reading comprehension with the Russian language.
The quotation already given, directly from Gogol’s publihed texts, provided by AP above:
is followed by Gogol’s musings regarding Peter’s options as to Ukraine, and is punctuated by Gogol directly mentioning Mazepa’s name:
http://feb-web.ru/feb/gogol/texts/ps0/ps9/ps9-083-.htm
There, you finally satisfied? 🙂
AP didn’t provide an excerpt mentioning Gogol saying Mazepa by name.
Your link comes up with a 503 message. You earlier approved of the Svido revisionism of Taras Bulba, where Ukraine is added throughout that work of his – something he never wrote in either of his two editions of that work.
With the likes of yourself, it’s a matter of making up things to fit a false image.
No he didn’t, but I did in comment 380. The translation of mine was taken from the citation provided by AP. You might want to ask one of your erudite Russian friends whether or not my translation was accurate, because I know that it’s way beyond any of your competencies to do so. 🙂
For the third time now at this thread:
http://feb-web.ru/feb/gogol/texts/ps0/ps9/ps9-083-.htm
Another 503 message showing zilch.
Appears on par with the Svido revision of Gogol’s Taras Bulba, where the word Ukraine is inserted – something he didn’t actually write.
You’re correct in pointing out that you get a 503 message when accessing this site, as I have too several times. This last time I tried, I was allowed to access this site. So, I have taken the liberty to copy the whole page, that is pertinent to our discussion. The first part includes Gogol lavishing praise on Mazepa, and at the very end, Gogol makes direct reference to Mazepa (who else could it be if he intertwines his whole dialogue with references to Czar Peter?) Enjoy (if you can, it’s a direct quotation in Russian):
What on earth does banking mafia economics mean?
As spun, it’s BS for a number of reasons:
https://books.google.com/books?id=R5dOEpS5HCYC&pg=PA165&lpg=PA165&dq=gogol+on+mazepa&source=bl&ots=pKebRp4T08&sig=U7oBv0XUcxoyEoTb2bzLnWe_6uY&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjuo-j49OneAhXlkOAKHZvDCzwQ6AEwBnoECAMQAQ#v=onepage&q=gogol%20on%20mazepa&f=false
Just WTF actually is a non-published fragment? Something that wasn’t published and is a part (a fragment) of something else. I’ve non-published fragments lauding Pilsudski that are incomplete. Specifically, I present his perception. Taking that as a fragment misrepresents the totality of my overall view of him.
Likewise, I had a US establishment conservative professor, who when teaching about fascism and communism, would start out by giving the respective fascist and communist views without criticism – a fragment of his overall take. After which, he’d lay into a heavy criticism of these movements.
The nouveau psychobabble on Gogol is quite flawed. In the West, he was in the company of a diverse range of people – patriotic Russians included, who liked him. As noted, he had a sarcastic side, along the lines of Dave Chappelle using a certain n word and being critical about some aspects in the African-American community, while far from being some kind of an Uncle Tom. There’s good reason to second guess the second to third hand accounts of anti-Russian Polish nationalists, who could either be full of it, or were played a bit. Recall how the character Lionel in All In the Family would play up to Archie’s bigotry.
Gogol’s own willingness to return to Russia, along with his actual and complete published works is the accurate indicator of his views. His actual published works are clearly along pro-Russian and anti-Polish lines.
banking mafia economics = economic ideas designed to enrich the families who collectively comprise the central banking mafia – pumped out 24/7 by the media the banking mafia own.
You keep spouting off that Gogol’s published works are clearly pro-Russian, however its his stories about Ukraine where his tone is soft and complimentary, whereas when writing about Russia the tone becomes more condescending and gray.
Having Russian friends and living in Russia are not signs of being enamored with the place. Hundreds of millions of people all over the world live in places that they detest and just stay there because its easier to do so, because they’re just in a rut.
Comparing your own notes about Pilsudski with those that Gogol made about Mazepa is the height of folly – your megalomania really has no bounds? 🙂
The chapter within the book that you present was written by Edita Bojanovska, a real expert in Slavic literature, and pretty much stands on its head all the nonsense that you hold to be true about Gogol, exposing you as the real psychobabbler here (have you even read the whole chapter devoted to Gogol?). Unfortunately, I’m unable to copy paste some of the more informative passages within this chapter, and would strongly urge you to read it, you might learn a thing or two…
He took a regional pride in the part of Russia (AKA Russian Empire) where he was from. Back then, the level favoring a complete separatism regarding Ukraine was limited. Lermontov also exhibited a regional pride in the part of Russia where he was from.
Inspector General is a satire, that was appreciated by the tsar of the time. AP’s BS comeback about the tsar having German roots downplays that as tsar, he took a pro-Russian line as did Catherine the Great and Nicholas II’s wife. As factually noted, some of Gogol’s bleak characters could’ve been early day versions of yourself.
My point about a so-called non-published fragment is completely valid for the reasons I stated. So much for your idiotic skirting around that point.
Once again, Gogol became more pro-Russian in later life – a matter having to do with how a good number of people become more patriotic and conservative as they get older.
Gogol was in no rut. He could’ve stayed in the West if he wanted to. He didn’t. Instead, returning to Russia on his own. Relying on the limited second to third hand accounts from anti-Russian/pro-Polish nationalist individuals isn’t a valid counter for the reasons detailed.
You apparently have a problem taking a more accurate approach that conflicts with your warped nationalist preferences.
He did take pride in the regional part of the empire that he was from (Ukraine), and never in the part of the center of the empire that he lived in later in his life (Russia), for which he was often lambasted by the Russian milieu he was surrounded by. He was often taken to task by other Russian literatis like Sekowski, Tolstoy, Smirnova, Tiuchev and many others for not portraying the Russian psyche in a more positive light. We’re not talking here about a brotherly or good-natured type of sarcasm as you’d have us believe, Mickey, but something of a march harsher strain that betrayed a disrespect for the dominant nation’s position within the pyramid of perceived imperial status. Opinions within Russian literature reviews included ones that posited that:
https://books.google.com/books?id=R5dOEpS5HCYC&pg=PA165&lpg=PA165&dq=gogol+on+mazepa&source=bl&ots=pKebRp4T08&sig=U7oBv0XUcxoyEoTb2bzLnWe_6uY&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjuo-j49OneAhXlkOAKHZvDCzwQ6AEwBnoECAMQAQ#v=onepage&q=gogol%20on%20mazepa&f=false
A great Russian patriot or a coniving Ukrainian fifth columnist in Russia? 🙂
You’re quite wrong again as usual. Some Russian distaste for him is by no means all, as is the case with Gogol who was a Russian patriot, opposed to Polish imperialism, as clearly evident in his works.
Somewhat reminded of the regional pride that some US southerners have. They’re seemingly talking down on the Yanks, while utilizing the stars and bars and ultimately being among America’s greatest patriots in war, as well as peace.
In any event, Russia proper was considerably more than just its two largest cities. So not necessarily liking the city life didn’t make one anti-Russian. The Polish nationalist/Svido nouveau preferred historical psychobabble about Gogol, continues to fall short from being factually convincing.
It’s all based on facts, Gogol’s papers, newspaper accounts, personal accounts etc; It’s really you that’s spreading psycobabble, based only on your own personal fantasy world.
Au contraire as a so-called unpublished fragment isn’t accurately explained in detail. Likewise with the second to third hand accounts of two anti-Russian Polish nationalists.
In contrast, are Gogol’s actual works and his own willingness to return to Russia. Russia is understandably proud of this writer. Ukraine IMO should be as well.
It was in the link. You couldn’t read it because you can’t even read Russian 🙂
Great catch, thanks for posting it.
Of course I always feel like I’ve done something right when I get a positive response from you, AP. However, in this case, all that I did was copy/paste the passages that you brought to my attention at this thread in your comment #369, from the citation provided. The real kudos goes to the person who made the masterful translation from Russian into English? Was it you?
LOL, I lose track sometimes.
I’m lazy so I use googletranslate and then fix the result rather than translate completely from scratch.
Worse yet is how big an idiot you are on this subject and in general. You failed to provide a full published piece of Gogol lauding Mazepa for betraying Russia, because G0gol never did.
Your language point reveals the fraud in you, as noted by your prior lauding of Alexander Mercouris, whose Russian (as I understand) isn’t noticeably better than mine, as (I understand to be true) of numerous others including John Mearsheimer and David Johnson.
BTW, this is for all practical purposes an English language thread. Yours truly (not Hack or you) came up with the unconvincing so-called non-published fragment, which (put mildly) is quite inconclusive for the well premised reasons I stated at this thread – points which Polish nationalists and Svidos shy away from for obvious reasons.
Filed under one idiot admiring another. How pathetic. Have fun.
The whole segment, BTW, entitled ‘Thoughts of Mazepa’ written by no other than Gogol himself is very favorably disposed towards Mazepa in comparison to Peter. It’s capped off by this statement, that leaves no doubt as to where Gogol’s sympathies were to be found:
Quick Mickey, here’s yet one more opportunity for you to show us all just how stupid you really are…
(Gogol had Russian friends, Gogol lived in Russia…Russians like Gogol…that’s about it). 🙂
Once again, it’s a so-called “non-unpublished fragment”, not indicating the full extent of what he was referring to.
As previously noted:
As spun, it’s BS for a number of reasons –
https://books.google.com/books?id=R5dOEpS5HCYC&pg=PA165&lpg=PA165&dq=gogol+on+mazepa&source=bl&ots=pKebRp4T08&sig=U7oBv0XUcxoyEoTb2bzLnWe_6uY&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjuo-j49OneAhXlkOAKHZvDCzwQ6AEwBnoECAMQAQ#v=onepage&q=gogol%20on%20mazepa&f=false

You’re repeating your monotonous and unconvincing dribble, trying to refute the plain truth discernible within Gogol’s writing about Mazepa and his importance for Ukraine. Gogol admired Mazepa and didn’t admire Peter. It’s plain to see and understand, and no amount of Orwellian doublespeak on your part will change this fact.
Once again, your rehashed drivel has been soundly debunked. Gogol didn’t publish any support for Mazepa betraying Russia. the sop-called evidence is a so-called “unpublished fragment’, that doesn’t offer a full portrayal of whatever he was writing it in relation to.
Gogol’s published works and life experience indicate a pro-Russian/anti-Polish individual.
Well, his ‘unpublished fragment’ has been provided access to here at this well respected Russian website for all to read: http://feb-web.ru/feb/gogol/texts/ps0/ps9/ps9-083-.htm
People with eyes to see and who know how to read can make of this statement whatever they want Mickey, notwithstanding all of your buffoonish grandstanding to the contrary:
If you weren’t so dumb you would realize that Russia had censorship and openly lauding Mazepa and his decisions in a published piece was not a good idea. You expect Gogol to openly publish a piece supporting Ukrainian separatism from Russia? Are you that dumb? Yes you are.
What next – in your world private letters that weren’t published aren’t proof of how someone really felt because they weren’t published?
Unlike you Mercouris, whom I often disagree with, is very smart and highly educated. You are dumb and an ignoramus. You are the dumbest person who posts here who is not from the Balkans. You are so dumb that you do not even know how dumb you are. Every time you describe yourself as not being dumb you demonstrate your dumbness.
Mercouris is AFAIK a Greek, not a Russian. You are of Russian descent and were too dumb to even learn your own ancestral language.
You keep providing a cherry picked translation of an excerpt that doesn’t list Mazepa by name. Likewise with any use of Ukraine/Ukrainian.
Meantime, it’s clear that Gogol (in his complete works and living preference for Russia) preferred Russia over Poland.
Once again, any detesting of Peter doesn’t necessarily mean being anti-Russian. This applies to the Slovophiles, who by and large didn’t support Ukrainian separatism from Russia.
As earlier noted, Gogol had a regional pride as opposed to seeking separatism as an ally of Poland. Such spin of the latter is a stretched out fiction, based on the kind of flimsy evidence which you’ve been repeatedly peddling here.
As you should know, many Cossacks of that era resided onn the territory of present day Russia. For the most part they’re ethnically of Russian, Ukrainian and Russo-Ukrainian backgrounds.
Dumb dilettantes like yourself certainly have a way of twisting things. I’m not looking to trash AM. That said, there’s this issue which doesn’t apply to me (for whatever my faults as no one is perfect):
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/07/28/pro-putin-commentator-faces-prospect-fraud-charges-yard-admits/
Noted to show what a fraud you are, while agreeing that AM shouldn’t be completely black balled from other opportunities for this issue (regarding the above linked) which he has acknowledged as being a wrong move on his part. I’m all for giving some a second chance (depending on the circumstances) after screwing up big time, as well as deserving others, who haven’t been given much of an opportunity, in addition to not having screwed up so badly.
FYI, at an informal venue, he lauded my abilities, saying he’d put a good word in for me. Does that make him dumb according to your “logic”? BTW, he (just prior to Yanukovych’s overthrow as I recall) spoke favorably of partitioning Ukraine – something that I took some issue with him from a pro-Russian perspective.
Your dumbness is further exhibited by your non-explanation of Gogol not trashing Russia while he was in the West. Your so-called “private letters” point (AKA as a “non-published fragment”) is an incomplete compilation, leaving open what was actually intended. Quite likely some sarcasm towards Mazepa and/or a background to a perception of Mazepa before his break with Russia. The bottom line is that his overall works and willingness to return to Russia clearly show his preference for Russia over Poland.
Russian censorship was limited as noted by the works of Gogol which were published in Russia, which have critical comments about Russian society.
You carry on like an autistic savant, suggesting that a professed knowledge of one or more languages makes you by default a better authority on a number of issues. That’s certainly not true of you and countless others. Once again, well educated, Russian fluent and non-Russian fluent individuals have expressed appreciation for my input on a number of key foreign policy, historical, media and sports issues. You haven’t come close to matching that.

You are too dumb to read Mazepa’s name.
LOL. Mercouris’ problems that you chose to write about here for some reason don’t change the fact that he is very well-informed and clever, and you are very dumb.
I do not agree with Mercouris and consider him to be a bit of a propagandist. But he is not you. He writes well, he is well-informed, and he is very skillful in what he does. You have none of those attributes.
Openly supporting separatism and a separatist is different than making fun of Russian society.
Too dumb to understand that?
Family friends being polite to a dummy they know. Something to be proud of 🙂
You’re considerably dumber, as exhibited by your side stepping the valid points which debunk your rehashed tripe.
Keep lying up a storm, while ducking the facts and fact based observations running counter to your stupid self.
Gogol never supported separatism whether in Russia or elsewhere.
My numerous admirers don’t include family friends and/or relatives.
I’m not a propagandist like some others thinking along my lines. One example has been evident at these threads, when I correctly took issue with the view that a Fox News segment during the 2008 former Georgian SSR war, had attempted to stifle a pro-Russian perspective.
I found “Mazepu” in the text, I guess due to declination. Unless you’re talking about another text.
So your own family friends and relatives don’t like you? LOL.
Unlike Mikhail you are not dumb, and are capable of reading.
Concerning your comments, you haven’t fully comprehended what has been communicated – a matter of being disingenuous and stupid.
Hahahha stupid. On the topics under discussion at these threads, my numerous admirers don’t often include family and friends. Many of my family and friends don’t have much an interest on such subjects. Their admiration for me pertain to other matters.
Thanks for showing that you’re too dumb to know that I have.
You were right the first time when you admitted:
“My numerous admirers don’t include family friends and/or relatives”
How would you know stupid?
You’re way too dumb to know that you in fact did not.
