Open Thread 87

I suppose I should get another Open Thread going before people begin to think I got Mossaded (bearing in mind the topic of the previous post). Speaking of that, a recent poll found that 42% think he was murdered, vs. 29% who buy into the suicide theory. Is this the US general public’s most significant acceptance of a “conspiracy theory” (as defined by officialdom and Vox – “Russiagate” is also a conspiracy theory, but is not considered as such) in modern history?

I am noticing a major uptick in Sinophobic sentiments. They have been building up gradually, in connection with the Uyghur nonsense, but they have been turbocharged by the metastasizing Hong Kong protests. Chinese bots (or people considered to be such) have been getting mass deleted on Twitter. I wonder if this marks the point at which the China hysteria will overtake Russophrenia as the “Great Bifurcation” between the Blue Empire and the Sinosphere accelerates.

I am halfway through Janet Martin’s Medieval Russia, 980-1584. I will imminently have a lot of powerful takes come the review.

Just a heads up that I do not think I will be able to resume intensive blogging for yet another 2-3 days. Apologies for the hiatus.

While I’m not a Sinophobe, I do think that a degree of Sinophobia is good for the West. People need to realise that countries are never loving partners or benevolent friends, they look out for their own interests. China might be a better partner than the US, but it will still always put China first.

Just one example of how Sinophobia is good is that of Ericsson; a Swedish company and one of the world’s biggest networking vendors. For years this 150-year-old paragon of the European telecoms industry has been getting squeezed out of its traditional markets by cheap Huawei products (which may or may not be PRC subsidised to undercut foreign companies), however now with the China scare, Ericsson and the 100,000 (largely Europeans) that it employs are back in business.

I happen to believe that a Europe from Dublin to Vladivostok is the ideal future, and so the best current scenario is one where China gets squeezed more and more while the pressure eases on Russia. The comprehensively zogged Americans may not let up, but the Europeans will. Especially with recession in Germany, near-zero EU growth, and populist political waves.

So far, I see nothing to complain about.

I am pleased with Trump being a gigaboomer on Israel. The key demand of AIPAC, ADL and all the alphabet soup lobbies has always been constant: never make Israel a partisan issue. By trying to out-Zionist liberal jews, and linking “the squad” to the democrats, he puts the DNC leadership in in awkard position.

They can’t be seen siding with a deeply hated figure like Trump over their own people. But at the same time, their own donor base still support Israel fiercly. So they are tongue tied. Trump, in his eternal boomerness, waltz on. Israel may finally become a partisan issue and given the demographic trends & political trends in the US, that is bad news for ADL/AIPAC.

India is next on the target list after China. Western elites are already hand-wringing about “Hindu far-right nationalists”. It isn’t the quiet whining like it was after Modi’s first election, this time the gloves are really coming off. The backlash after India abrogated article 370 has been immense and unrelenting in the western press, even from centrist papers like FT. I think it is indicative of a larger concern: that India wasn’t going to to be the good puppet we planned.

The whole premise of India as a liberal democracy will likely be terminally eliminated in the not too distant future from its current status as life support. This development will be good for us, because it will make the West look strange in the sense that it doesn’t look after its own population the way India or China do.

I’m not sure Sinophobia is good for us. I’d say a stronger China is good for us because it weakens the US, which is the source of the anti-White animus today. The Chinese are not our friends but their media are not our active enemies the way the US media is. A weaker US would mean weaker toxic cultural influences/poison.

  4. AltSerrice says

Very true about India actually, the Economist and FT came down hard on them for the Kashmir reforms, and I generally take them to be the weathervane for elite opinion. It’s amusing that they ever thought an ethno-linguistically mixed country of 1.3b people with an average IQ of 85 could ever be a liberal democracy.

A strengthening China and weakening US is a guarantee. What I think would be beneficial is a situation where China’s rise is slowed by the declining US and the two empires find themselves in a resource-draining conflict spiral while the rest of the world sits it out.

Actually could be interpreted (and imo will be) as vaguely antisemitic in a “the nationalist Jews in Israel are fine, the subversive left-wing ones in America not so much” way.
Trump seems to have come completely unhinged in the last week, the Greenland business and now “king of Israel” can’t be explained just with “trolling the libs” imo. Or has he gotten bored of the job and tries to appear so inept that he’ll be impeached?

  6. It’s also interesting that they want Hindus to die off so much.

Whites can cry about genocide but have given 400 million Muslims two nation states in the subcontinent and passively allowed genocides in Afghanistan and Indonesia as well.

India will need a gargantuan effort to fix and the christian west will support Jihad the whole way.

    Like always,

  7. Making Israel/Jews a partisan issue in USA – 4D chess.

Raising the issue of divided US Jewish loyalties.
But it gets better, he is actually calling out US Jews for not being loyal enough to Israel, despite them being US citizens and participating in US and not Israel political life.

I guess at this point no one can avoid the issue of ridiculous Jewish influence in USA – not with all the pandering to Israel Trump does.

The funny part? Jews don’t like the spotlight on them and their control and influence, so when Biden tried praising them, they naturally started sweating. http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2013/05/biden-praises-jews-goes-too-far.html

The US tried to purchase Greenland in 1946. Nice to see Trump reviving long dormant American territorial expansionism.

As usual traitor Truman simply meekly acquiesced to Denmark’s unacceptable refusal to sell Greenland to us, just like he failed to followup on the possibility of annexing Newfoundland.

Greenland’s status as a Danish dependency is intolerable. And once Greenland is annexed, the disgusting Canuckist entity will be practically encircled. The US can then terminate the Ottawan abortion once and for all.

  9. A strengthening China and weakening US is a guarantee. What I think would be beneficial is a situation where China’s rise is slowed by the declining US and the two empires find themselves in a resource-draining conflict spiral while the rest of the world sits it out.

A hegemon losing its position will try everything to preserve it.
Including starting a war, sacrificing vassals, allies.

And the USA has plenty of both, some conveniently located. A weakening USA or focused on China will surely push Russia towards certain border and history corrections, not to mention the rest of global crisis zones.

I wish I didn’t have to, but I welcome the rise of geopolitical heavyweights like China and India. Their growing prosperity coupled with their rejection of liberal democratic precepts is probably the only thing that will ever cause western liberals to question their attachment to liberal values – or at least to optimistic one-worldism (and its concomitant race-denialism).

At the same time, it’s important not to lose sight of the fact that geopolitical heavyweights like China are not Europe’s friends. They are, in fact, global rivals and must be treated as such. It’s the same thing with Russia. Its successes are a useful counterweight to European libtardism, but Russian megalomania has to always be guarded against.

A funny by-product of the Epstein affair, is that thousands in profits were apparently won by those holding used copies of the 1973 ‘fantasy novel’ about sexual slavery by Donald Barr, ‘Space Relations’, suddenly selling for huge prices

Don Barr who was headmaster of the Dalton School hiring Jeffrey Epstein for his first job teaching teen girls & boys, 1973-75

Don Barr who was born fully Jewish, converting to Catholicism, & who was an OSS (CIA predecessor) officer during WW2

Don Barr who is father of current US Attorney General William Barr:
    – Bill Barr who was a CIA officer during that same period, 1973-77, the CIA supporting Barr thru law school
    – Bill Barr whose law firm Kirkland Ellis represented Jeffrey Epstein
    – Bill Barr who was in charge of Epstein’s arrest – jailing – Mossad jailbreak / murder / suicide

According to reviewers the novel by teen student headmaster Don Barr has scenes of the rape of underage teens
    http://i.4cdn.org/pol/1565812689714.jpg

So would a crypto-Jewish ‘former’ CIA officer who is now USA Attorney General, possibly help a Mossad political blackmailer escape to Israel after a fake ‘jail suicide’?

An intriguing 4chan post a few hours after Epstein’s ‘body was discovered’, says Epstein was put in a wheelchair and driven out of the jail in a van, accompanied by a man in a green military uniform – timestamp is USA Pacific on the screencap apparently, so about 10:44 NYC time Sat. 10 Aug.

  13. 1984 Winston Smith. His job was to edit back copies of The Times to reflect current policies. His big task was to change “the historical enemy” that Oceania (US+UK) had been fighting with. So all past references to Eurasia (Russia + continental Europe) had to be backdated to read Eastasia (China).

Another couple of months and we will be told that China has always been the Number 1 enemy.

Russiagate quo bueno? China obviously, which has overtaken US in size and influence while no one was watching!

  14. Brabantian:

Don Barr was redeemed by marrying and being converted by a good (are there any other kind?) Irish-American girl. His son Bill’s redemption was copper fastened by his marriage to another Irish-American!

  15. I wonder if this marks the point at which the China hysteria will overtake Russophrenia as the “Great Bifurcation” between the Blue Empire and the Sinosphere accelerates.

Maybe, but i would argue otherwise at this juncture. Sure, in geopolitical terms China is more of a problem for US than Russia, but that’s overthinking it.

The greatest enemy of American “intelligence community”, associated officials and our friendly Military Industrial Complex is not Russia, or China, or whatever flavor-of-the-month designated “enemy” country.

It’s the Social Security office. The number one issue for elite in any political economy is how to divide resources, and currently, US resources are split between Old People (Social Security/Medicare), Banks (debt issuance and service), and MIC/Deep State/Pentagon. Of that triad, good luck messing with the Banks, so Old People will have to eat it as resources shrink.

And if you must scare Old People into giving up resources, what is a better bogey man? I think it’s easier to scare old people with Russia just out of habit, so Russia hysteria is here to stay. I don’t think old people are as afraid of the Chinese.

This is not all domestic fun and games though. Russia/China may not be a priority, but US officials still need to show Old People that their sacrifice is not in vain, and US is taking action against the official enemies of the Old People’s youth. Last time US went down that path and had to seriously scare Russia, US nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. Who knows who gets nuked this time around, and i don’t think old people care that much. That is rather concerning.

  16. “uptick in Sinophobic sentiments”

No such uptick from me, as a Californian, speaking on the level of daily life. I have found our Chinese-Americans to be decent, industrious, conscientious, proficient, and smart. Careful drivers. Love vegetables. I wish I were more like them. I have posted this before, in other places, but wish to repeat it here.

  17. It is nieve to think that any lessening of pressure on Russia is permanent and that China will be the permanent boogie man for the west going forward.

If you know anything about how the west works and why they are targetting Russia and China to begin with, you know that Russia is a threat to the west because they are a bridge from Asia to Europe a la Mackinder.

I see the west rotating boogie men between China, Russia, and Iran going forward.

  18. Vishnugupta says

Well the UK has always had a pro Muslim foreign policy in this part of the world and funds a disproportionately large number of troublesome NGOs in India whose activities and source of funds scrutinized and significantly curtailed by Modi.

In any case Brexit followed by a Corbyn government rogering of the economy and yet more Muslim migrants is the UK’s fate.

The US in contrast was very vocal in support of India at the UNSC meet on Kashmir.

Basically the story here is how the left establishment is funded substantially by Islamists based in the GCC.

Modi/RSS basically is the Indian Hindu version of Franco/Opus Dei and given how well that turned out for Spain on a wide variety of parameters I can’t say I’m unhappy with the present state of affairs of my country.

I seriously don’t get why most American normie’s are so fond of the Hong Kong protesters. Why so much fanboying? It’s cringe.

The protesters are mostly a bunch of low testosterone cucks (Of course, Asians in general have lower average testosterone counts than Europeans, although this may change in the future) not worthy of praise. They’re not even going to win long term anyway.

  21. Can’t Western nationalists actually find common cause with Modi, though?

  22. Modi has been looting India quite aggressively His pal Amit Shah has enriched himself to the billions in 5 years. A remarkable achievement. It is natural that the psychopath will seek shelter under the religious umbrella. It is easy to dismantle a mosque, talk of Muslim women rights ,article 370, create the canard of Jihad Love, kill Muslim in the name of saving the cows and call each and every Muslim as Arab /Pakistan supporter. But it takes a honesty to even start thinking of uplifting the millions of Hindus out of poverty illiteracy improve unsafe daily living condition and address ecological damages .
Modi will sell himself and the country to the next highest bidder . China actually doesn’t need any confrontation It has money, it can buy Indian upstart newly rich class . They have been throughout the centuries by foreign powers. India can only brag of being better than Pakistan . Rate of Infant mortality, education, press freedom , daily violence or hygiene in daily life when measured against the neighboring countries, India stands marginally better than Pakistan and far worse than the rest .

Their growing prosperity coupled with their rejection of liberal democratic precepts is probably the only thing that will ever cause western liberals to question their attachment to liberal values – or at least to optimistic one-worldism (and its concomitant race-denialism).

Many white liberals operate under an ‘End of History’ mental model where anyone who isn’t a liberal democracy is somehow “going against the arc of human progress”. Not having either China or India in that camp means that liberal democracy will be exposed as a Western invention that was simply forced on the world because the West got powerful, not because they chose it.

I also don’t even think that what we have is liberal democracy, anwyay. More like an oligarchy. In Sweden, a tiny handful of jewish families control most of the private media. They have no attachment to Sweden or its survival How is that democratic? All political parties, including SD, never fundamentally question the idea of Sweden as a deracinated civic nationalist experiment, even if there are lots of Swedish people who are skeptical of that idea. It never gets an expression in the political system. The media is unrelenting in its propaganda, and any “objectivity” on issues like multiculturalism is thrown out the window. This is not what a ‘democracy’ looks like, but a stage-managed puppet show. Any real opposition gets banned, and their activists harassed/jailed/fired. “Liberal democracy” is mostly a sham.

It’s the same thing with Russia. Its successes are a useful counterweight to European libtardism, but Russian megalomania has to always be guarded against.

I would integrate Russia in a Western framework ASAP. However that integration would not just require changes on Russia’s part. We would also need to change, especially regarding GloboHomo issues. So it would be a long-term play. Many in the so-called “butthurt belt” would also need to be accomodated in some ways. It wouldn’t be easy, but it should happen. Russia is a big player, so obviously you would have to treat it differently than, say, Moldova, but the alienation of Russia away from Europe is a geopolitical tragedy. They belong in the European family and they have much more in common with us culturally (in the deep cultural sense) than they do with China.

  24. Belarusian Anon says

I never got these pan European hottakes. For the most part Europeans spent their histories killing each other and frankly what have British ever done for Russians than brunt suffering to them? Or Russians to French beyond capturing Paris? There is no such a thing as some “European fold” and the United European idea is the first step on the way to gay shit like the EU

  25. Thulean Friend says

That’s a fair point. India will be useful for containing China. But there is one thing missing in your analysis: India itself. Because of its huge size, it will never be satisfied with playing a second-fiddle role to whatever Uncle Sam deigns it should do, the way Japan, Korea, Taiwan or increasingly Vietnam are.

India has its own designs on the subcontinent and later on in Asia. It wants to become truly self-sufficient in all areas of technology. We can already see the massive pressure that the US is putting China under for daring to become more self-sufficient. There’s no reason to suggest that India would escape that pressure at a certain point of development. If India simultaneously rejects secular liberalism – and it looks like a structural shift to me – in favor of overt Hindu nationalism, then the tolerance threshold will be even lower.

The bet that India will remain in good graces of the West despite its blatant rejection of secular liberalism hinges on a central assumption: India making up for it by being a pliant puppet. We can see examples of this already, most strikingly in the case of Saudi Arabia. But I doubt that India would accept a permanent subordinate role, which is what is required for such an arrangement to last.

  26. Thulean Friend says

For the most part Europeans spent their histories killing each other

The problem with this analysis is that you’re looking backwards to predict the future, but Europe no longer has the same homogenity as it once had, so any such analysis is critically flawed. The circumstances have changed, so must our mental models. But people’s mental conception of the world changes slower than the world around them does.

There was a similar objection in the last OT, so I’ll copy-paste my longer response below:

    “Pan-Europeanism is a larp”

Only in a context of a homogenous Europe, yes, but that world is no longer with us. It no longer is in Western Europe, at the very least. I think chances are non-trivial that we will see some form of social evolution akin to that in the US during the 1880s-1960s and I’d argue we have already begun to see the seeds of it. Language will be a barrier, but only modestly, as English is the lingua franca for the young.

In Sweden, it is no longer ethnic Swedes vs non-ethnic Swedes (as much as I regret that). We – and by “we”, I am talking about Swedish leftists and non-White ‘assimiliated’ SJWs – have imported US terminology on race.
It all happened very quickly. Up until the early 2010s nobody even talked about race here. I still remember seeing Al Franken’s book called “stupid white men” in a bookstore when I was younger. It was the first time I had ever seen such racialisation in politics and it felt so alien and weird. It was only later that I understood he was jewish and it all fell into place. That was then.
Over the past, say, 5 years we have moved very swiftly from a doctrine of race-blindness to one in which we’re either White or non-White. Even the religious issue is no longer relevant, which has made many “counter-jihadist” zionist shills unemployable overnight. In part because of rampant 2nd gen liberalisation among their kids. Being muslim becomes an important identity marker to attach to your non-whiteness, an extra. Just as many white leftists use sexuality or gender to their SJW politics.

This evolution obviously has not taken place in Eastern Europe but many Eastern European immigrants in Sweden absorb the politics, both on the left and right, and then re-export it to their home countries. The internet and rising English literacy, especially among the young, has also helped. As we face a long demographic tidal wave from Africa over the next few decades, I think a lot of our previous assumptions regarding identity, many of whom were shaped by events in previous centuries when Europe was largely homogenous, are no longer credible mental models and will have to be discarded.

  27. Elites aren’t really concerned about radical Hindus.

Look at how elites are so chummy with Modi.

The reason for the spike in scaremongering about radical Hindus is the elites’ fear of Tulsi and her ideas. The Clinton-Harris mafia are trying to get Tulsi labeled as part of the red-brown alliance (horseshoe theory at its most inane), in order to get primary voters to dismiss her and her ideas.

  28. Having Barr investigate Epstein’s death is like having Brutus investigate Caesar’s death.

  35. reiner Tor says

frankly what have British ever done for Russians than brunt suffering to them?

I’m not sure what your point is. Russia has several times gotten into war with stronger European powers, resulting in huge suffering regardless of what Britain did or did not do, and Britain usually helped Russia greatly. For example under Napoleon or under Hitler. Especially in the case of Hitler, British help probably proved critical, at least combined with American help.

But the bigger point is that Europeans have fought each other in ever changing combinations. Probably no two countries were constant enemies. So it’s pretty natural that in a changing environment with lots of new outside enemies we might recombine into a grand alliance against outsiders.

  41. Should nationalist movements and governments outside the Anglosphere start arguing that children shouldn’t be taught English? It’s no coincidence that the countries with best education systems and highest English language literacy (the Nordics) are most pozzed on average. Countries like Italy might be saved by their bad education systems.

That doesn’t mean that English shouldn’t be taught at all anymore. It should. But not to children as a first foreign language. It should be for people who need it (scientists, diplomats, etc.) and for people who really want to learn it. Teach another modern European language as a first foreign language or Latin or Chinese, hell Hebrew is better than English.

During the cold war you could learn English as a foreign language in Warsaw pact states. But Russian was always the first foreign language. Similarly Russian was taught in Western countries as a foreign language but not as the first foreign language. Don’t transmit the culture of your enemy to everyone.

  42. About the Ericsson: company’s decline was fully their own fault. They behaved like a slow, feeble minded and wasteful dinosaur. Ericsson did accommodate to their traditional customers, state owned telecoms, and sold expensive systems which didn’t disturb the market.

Huawei, on the other hand, had fame of a fast, aggressive animal. The anecdote was, that they never say “no, we do not have this feature” to a potential customer. They asked for few days to find out and tried to quickly implement the desired functionality.

This is what I saw twenty years ago, but big company culture changes slowly, or never.

  43. reiner Tor says

It’s interesting that Orbán’s minions often came up with ideas to reduce the absolute dominance of English, though their proposals to promote other languages like German or French or Italian don’t seem much smarter. I also had the impression that these people thought that promoting German would help trade with Germany a lot. (Okay, they had a point with Italian and French, though these days it’s less important.)

Of all political configurations of major European countries in the 20th century I see the Franco regime + opus dei technocrats to resemble the present Modi regime + RSS affiliated technocrats currently in power in India though it will take another 5 years to solidify it’s hold over India(India is a continental country of 1.4 billion).Good times these for Hindu nationalist. Regardless, that single case of Britain-Russia in history isn’t my point. I do not see what I as a Belarusian have to do with the Irish. They’re too far for me to care even if they wholesale drown as a result of global warming. Tatars who are non European in origin are closer to me culturally.

Greek is too difficult (quite a bit more so than Latin; I did it at school and have unfortunately forgotten most of it, but I remember that the tense system with things like aorist, contracted forms etc. was quite a bit more complicated than Latin). It also didn’t play much of a role for most of the history of Latin Christendom, whereas Latin enables one to read not just classical ancient texts, but also many from medieval and early modern Europe right up to the 19th century. So Latin should be given priority, and learning Greek in addition is unrealistic even for most gifted pupils.
It’s different for Greece though, ancient Greek should be given priority in education there.

I’d love to see a peaceful, prosperous, productive, compassionate Europe from Dublin to Vladivostok, too, but that would require actual white european people. Otherwise, who is going to populate, define, cultivate, maintain, and defend the place as a european civilization?

It doesn’t look like there will be enough white european people even to hold the land and political/cultural power where they are now, especially in the UK, Germany, France, Benelux countries, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Greece, and Ukraine. Suicidally low fertility rates among European people continue year after year, without interruption, in all those places.

In all those countries, except currently Ukraine, the majority will fairly soon be nonEuropean, and often Africans, Turks / Arabs / Pakis, or others hostile or indifferent to white Europeans and their rights, interests, dignity, and traditional culture.

Russia, too, continues to lose actual Russians (even broadly construed, as it must be for Russia, including all people who are at least about half Slavic genetically, and speak Russian as a native language). Nothing is possible in this direction without european peoples (everywhere) ditching their perversions and distractions, ending their self-doubt and Other-worship (African worship or whatever), and getting back to the glorious and hard work of having children and caring for their own families.

  81. We handed the colonies back in the expectation they would be abandoned soon after order was restored. The US gave little to no aid to France or Britain against colonial insurgencies. The US stopped the Anglo/French and Israelis’ advance during the Suez Crisis. In fact, a lot of anti-colonial leaders like Frantz Fanon were tied to the CIA. The US made clear that eventual decolonization was a precondition for our aid. Unfortunately we sided with Pakistan since we were trying to weaponize Islam against communism and Nehru was fond of the Soviet model of development.

but immediately handed back all colonies it had ‘liberated’ in WW2 to their respective colonial masters.

Which ones actually? In 1945 it was British forces who entered Vietnam and Indonesia, and ensured the return of French and Dutch rule there. US troops weren’t much on the ground there.
It’s true that the Americans sometimes temporarily propped up European colonialism because of anticommunism, but that was usually accompanied by pressure for reform and preparation of independence. And in 1949 the US pretty much forced the Dutch to give up on their colonial war against the Indonesian nationalists.

  83. Wrong race, it is the jews that are the ones that pushed for globo homo, feminism, etc.

  84. Vishnugupta says

US Marshall Plan was not contingent on decolonization. That aid dwarfed any supplementary assistance required to put down colonial insurgencies. What did the US do in practical terms to prevent what the French did in Algeria?

The US did not intervene in the Suez on the side of UK/France/Israel because it was not consulted before the invasion by the Eden government and it was not a move that was publicly defensible.

In roughly the same time frame it had no qualms in toppling the democratically elected Mossadegh government at the behest of the UK government to maintain the one sided colonial concessions extracted by the AIOC (Now BP).

In any case any independent non Anglo/Jewish country(to say nothing of a non white country) whose ruling class/smart fraction thinks that an alliance with the US(Or any Anglo country) is anything other than a transient alliance of convenience formed on the basis of a temporary convergence of interests deserves to be colonized and enslaved for their stupidity.

  85. How can you not know that the Turkic people are Asian in origin? People in Turkey don’t look like Mongols because they have mixed with natives. Russian Tatars are mixed with Slavs and Finnic people and are about 20% Asian. Bashkirs – about 40% Asian. Kazakhs, Turkmen are basically Asian.

  86. Vishnugupta says

The pacific war and the roll back of the Japanese was largely financed by and logistically supported by the US and the UK would not have handed back Indo China to the French and Indonesia to the Dutch had the US seriously objected to it.The fact that the US boots on the ground were not significant in these sub theaters of the Pacific war is largely irrelevant to the point I was making.

The US supported Indonesian nationalists when the Dutch were practically routed and there was a serious risk of communist inroads being made not out of their support for ‘freedom’.

The US did comparatively nothing to help Algerians ~1 million of whom were slaughtered by the French because the eventual outcome was not as clear as was the case in Indonesia.

  87. reiner Tor says

    https://twitter.com/IChotiner/status/1162406582862303235

The NYT has been pumping out one anti-Indian Op-Ed after another. What’s hilarious is that all these are either jewish-owned papers (NYT) or jewish-edited (WaPo, New Yorker), yet India continues to lick the boot and is unable to see that jews don’t necessarily like India if they don’t have (another) multicultural potential superpower to infiltrate. China is obviously not in that category, but the worry (the real worry) is that India is moving in that direction, too.

Liberal, multicultural “democracies” are easy to infiltrate and dominate as the natives are lectured to be tolerant and there is no strong coherent bond between the citizens based on blood, religion, soil etc. You can always import lots of outsiders in such a country to more easily fragment it, then buy off local elites. This is what jews did in the USA. India was always weaker than China in that regard, but in the past years there are attempts to remedy that fact. This is the true source of concern that they have.

The first attempt, sending soldiers, failed when the soldiers were wiped out by a charge of Polish heavy cavalry. . As Protestants, they wanted to prevent Poland turning into a another Catholic superpower like Spain. The backup plan was to conquer Northern Russia and install James I as King. GB and EU had a century of excellent relations plus or minus the Civil War. The Tsars didn’t like the idea of beheading kings.

What’s more, Kazakh nose is quite prominent, in sharp contrast to Mongols with tiny nose. I don’t know the data of any genetic studies, but facial features suggest a large proportion of Caucasian blood in present-day Kazakhs, at least in civilized city dwellers.

  107. British (and Nat Chinese) forces entered Vietnam in 1945 just to evacuate Japanese soldiers, then left. 108. Yes, we will definately have to support India in any conflict.

I was listening to a Buddhist monk talking recently about how Pakistan, Afghanistan and huge parts of Asia that used to be Buddhist are now Muslim…and thinking what a different world it would be if most of these Islamic states were still Buddhist…

What a peaceful world it would be compared to what we experience now with practically every country with a Muslim majority either in a war, about to be in a war, talking or planning for a war or experiencing internal terrorism in a prelude to a war…

So it is in our interest to see that it doesn’t spread to any other parts of the world in India or elsewhere.

There’s not many realistic chances for righting history, short of biosingularity-transhumanism or Tropical Hyperborea, but it would deeply pain me to see Russia be subsumed into the EU civilization, even as its single biggest component. That is not what our destiny was meant to be.

Unfortunately though the rage for what has been done to your societies is real I see no evidence of your kind being close to systematically taking over the institutions of state power in your countries along the lines of what is underway in India. It is not even clear if you guys have a solid plan and resources to do so in the near future.

What Yates wrote ‘Things fall apart the centre cannot hold..the best lack conviction and the worst are filled with passionate intensity’ way back in 1920 is very applicable to your societies today.

The sympathies and support of your type therefore though appreciated is in practical material terms not likely to be of much use to us.

  112. Can someone explain to me what, exactly, is supposed to be unreasonable about the demands of the Hong Kong protesters? They seem to basically want increased autonomy from the mainland. If that is the wish of the majority of the population, which it seems to be, why is that at an illegitimate demand, especially if one is a BASED nationalist?

The only arguments I have seen are “It’s probably supported by the CIA” and “China is always, automatically good.”

The first is obviously retarded. Okay, suppose these protests are facilitated by the CIA… so what? Anti-communist movements in the Soviet bloc in the 1980s were also supported by the CIA, does that mean that Soviet puppet governments were therefore BASED and good? This is basically the “Hitler was a vegetarian” guilt by association argument/fallacy. (It’s also quite comparable to the meme in the US and Western Europe that nationalist movements are creations of the Kremlin and couldn’t possibly have genuine indigenous support.)

Furthermore, though this is somewhat irrelevant because the premise of this argument is fallacious, it is probably not true. The CIA may certainly support the protests, but historical evidence and common sense suggest that the CIA is incapable of generating mass political movements out of thin air, so it probably has little practical impact on the situation. There are all kinds of areas, like Cuba and Vietnam, where CIA attempts at subversion failed dismally because anti-American governments had genuine popular support. Even in some cases like the Baltics and Albania with less popular governments shortly after WW2 CIA operations were highly unsuccessful. CIA, and intelligence operations more broadly, are only successful when they’re working with genuine popular movements (e.g. supporting the guerrillas in Afghanistan in the 1980s.) People should read books, like those of Dr. John Prados, on the actual, often comically ineffective history of the CIA before attributing every development in world affairs to it.

Also, what does it even mean that “the protests were created by the CIA?” No one wanted to protest, but then the CIA got 338,000 (police figure) to 2 million people to show up to protests? I guess you could argue that the CIA nefariously brainwashed the Hong Kongers into believing that they should be autonomous. How did this happen? Doesn’t the CCP have the capacity to produce at least as much—in reality far, far more— counter-vailing propaganda in Hong Kong?

Did the CIA pay lots of people to show up to the protests who otherwise wouldn’t have? Suppose the CIA paid 500,000 people $20 a day to protest (both of which are very generous underestimates). The CIA would be burning through $10 million a day for this expense alone. The CCP could easily and quickly bankrupt the local station by just waiting out the protests, which would in this theory simply dissipate once the US stopped funding them. I mean, really, what would be the point of expending large amounts of cash to create something that would disappear the moment you stopped funding it?

The second is also obviously moronic. The US was an enemy of the USSR and Maoist China, two evil, murderous states. Does that mean that everything the US did in the name of fighting those states, let alone everything that it did in general, was justified? A great insight of both Orwell and Chomsky is that most people/state officials have no trouble grasping elementary moral principles, as long as they’re applied to their (official/nominal) enemies. It’s only when they’re applied to their own favored countries that they feign ignorance of simple concepts.

I agree with your sentiment, OTOH this would probably be a lesser evil than becoming a vassal of China.

  115. I do not think that the US should ever go to war with China to defend the sovereignty of Hong Kong or Taiwan. 117. That’s true, it’s going to be a feminoid and mostly non-white, non-Christian “civilization” that India, China, etc. going to have to contend with. The monstrosity led by the heirs of Neera Tanden, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, etc. are going to be much worse for you than Victorian Britain or the Cold War US.

  118. I am a Russian nationalist, so a harsh and brutal Chinese response to Hong Kong is in my interests, since it will accelerate the Great Bifurcation.

It is in China’s interests to postpone the Great Bifurcation for as long as possible. But I am not a Chinese nationalist.

From a neutral nationalist perspective, who even cares what those 4M (7.3M*60%) anti-Beijing Hong Kongers who mostly don’t even pretend to have their own fake and gay micronation think – the will of the 1.4B Chinese nation takes priority.

    Hope that’s clear enough.

  119. You wouldn’t want to see Russia be a part of an EU led by nationalist parties? Seize control from within rather than trying to destroy from without, like Orban and the Poles are doing

  121. I agree with your sentiment, OTOH this would probably be a lesser evil than becoming a vassal of China.

I am almost certain that is not on the cards. Not going to repeat my usual arguments – e.g. its inability to puppetize a certain neighboring tinpot dictatorship that relies on it for food aid – but the Hong Kong case is a further instructive update. It seems that the PRC can’t even properly manage politics and public sentiment in a Chinese city that’s under its formal suzerainty, LOL.

OTOH, the ideological subversion of Russia’s elites by the West is an extremely realistic possibility.

  122. Will European nationalists still need Russia if/when they they achieve dominance within the EU? I suspect that will be the point at which they lose their Russophilia.

Best case scenario for Russia might actually be what’s developing today – nationalist/populist revolts against globalism, with peripheries outright going nationalist (but needing Russia/China for leverage against Brussels) coupled with simmering insurgencies within core Europe that stop short of achieving the sort of absolute dominance enjoyed by Orban and likely soon Salvini.

  123. I am a Russian nationalist, so a harsh and brutal Chinese response to Hong Kong is in my interests, since it will accelerate the Great Bifurcation.

It is in China’s interests to postpone the Great Bifurcation for as long as possible. But I am not a Chinese nationalist.

So basically, someone with one of these allegiances would concede that the Hong Kongers have legitimate requests, but they oppose fulfilling them (although in different senses) because it would be bad for their interests. Fair enough!

From a neutral nationalist perspective, who even cares what those 4M (7.3M*60%) anti-Beijing Hong Kongers who mostly don’t even pretend to have their own fake and gay micronation think – the will of the 1.4B Chinese nation takes priority.

Sure, and I personally don’t really care all that much about it except for autistic desire for logical clarity, but it seems like you could also fairly flip the question around: if less than 8 million people want to be their own country, does it really have that much impact on the big picture for Russia or China?

    Hope that’s clear enough.

    Yeah, thanks, that was informative.

Vassal state (I guess, de jure independent but de facto operating in a way that is roughly analogous to the ones the Ottoman Empire had in its neighborhood) would be likely. Not a fully controlled puppet state (as were the Warsaw Pact countries under the Soviets).

I can’t imagine China or anyone else establishing full control over Russia, under any condition. But Russia economically and politically subservient to a Chinese hyperpower would be an unpleasant possibility.

OTOH, the ideological subversion of Russia’s elites by the West is an extremely realistic possibility.

  132. Vishnugupta says

India has gone through phases of broad unification and balkanization in a cyclical fashion for at least the past 2300 years.

The most powerful Empire in India before the British reached paramouncy on the sub continent was the Hindu Maratha Empire in the 18th century which had an area of 2.5 MN so kms compared to around 3.2 MN of India today. It had also exterminated Muslim power north of the vindhyas and in the absence of the British would likely have united all 4.2 million sq mks of South Asia.It was also rapidly modernizing with the help of the French and had actually defeated the UK in the first Anglo Maratha war.
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maratha_Empire

So no the British neither united India nor saved Hindus from Islam as they like to portray. Infact quite the contrary.

Without British India the Maratha Empire would likely reconquer the whole subcontinent and launch the Hindu version of reconquista to expel Muslims and reconvert them to Hinduism. They actually did this in Western India which was their base.

Also there was the modernization along the French model that had started and had broad elite support in the Maratha Empire.

BTW they also banned Sati in their Empire and rigorously enforced this ban(all adult male relatives of the woman would be executed in public in case of Sati) and did a lot to modernize society as a whole.

  133. Thulean Friend says

Western “academics” like Doniger, Pollack, Truschke, etc. would be considered neo-Nazis if they wrote about Jews or Muslims as they do Hinduism.

Yeah, the ethnicity of all three continually escapes Hindus. Instead they just blame ‘Westerners’. Totally clueless.

Just today, the jewish media (this time Rothschild-owned Economist) put out another attack on India:

When India’s government abuses power, the media cheer: reporting on Kashmir is a travesty

You can’t tell me that this isn’t a unified attack on India. There is a complete and sustained campaign by now. The gloves have come off. They just quote the furthest-left fringe/marginal figures in India. Not a single different perspective gets heard in the article. This is not about ‘objectivity’: it’s about setting an agenda and sending a signal to other media houses what the general editorial line is now going to be vis-a-vis India.

The underlying fear is that they no longer can count on a westernised ‘native informant’ class which are out of step with their own population to do their bidding in the media. They fear an Orbanisation. This is not about Kashmiris, that’s just the pretext.

This is about controlling India. How do you get first rank in “press freedom”? Get a small number of jewish oligarchs to control your private media, like in Sweden. India can’t have that, but they can have second “best”: a small number of westernised sepoys who will be loyal to outsiders. This is now increasingly impossible and the jewish media rage. As I said: India is next.

At least at the moment, the CPC is not pushing for anything outrageous regarding TW or HK. It’s just people in these two places sensing a threat because of the ever bigger economy.

  138. Hong Kong pretty much IS autonomous, despite what you might read in the media. Granted they are not as autonomous as they were promised, but the universal suffrage they want would lead straight into liberal degeneracy. And the mainland government knows this. So the idea is to appoint a Beijing approved leader, but apply a hands-off approach, which is how it’s worked since the handover.

The current protests are based on paranoia that Beijing will use the extradition bill to nab anyone they don’t like. This is pretty doubtful, and even if it did happen it wouldn’t be a lot of people.

And while parts of the CCP do operate on outdated thinking, modern China isn’t Maoist China. It does not adhere to communism/Marxism, in any sense of the word.

  139. Unlikely. Russia is the one friendly country China does not view as a lesser or subordinate, even with the difference in economic size in mind. Which is saying something because the CCP adopts a condescending, almost arrogant view when it comes to dealing with any other neighbor.

  140. China has ruined its own reputation from the diplomatic level down to the perception of the conduct of Chinese migrants living in foreign countries. When we speak of a nation’s power in terms of economy and military we risk ignoring that it is essential to be admired and looked up to by others.

  141. This is China’s biggest problem right now, the inability to create or even understand soft power, the image of being overly materialistic and prideful, the unsophisticated diplomacy based only on money and power, the insecurity on a national level, etc.

It really is “Great Power Autism”, like an awkward teenager who doesn’t know how to socialize with others, much less gain international respect.

  142. Anonymous[679],

“Can someone explain to me what, exactly, is supposed to be unreasonable about the demands of the Hong Kong protesters? They seem to basically want increased autonomy from the mainland. ”

HongKong is already very autonomy, anymore autonomy would mean it has Poroshenko or Guaido as Chief Executive.

Theoretically, few people care if HongKongers willing to screw themselves taking orders from the US, because it’s a de facto quarantined city of China. However, HK as one of the two financial gateways into the mainland (the other one is London), it’s still useful until Beijing establish a financial system independent of the US one.

So, they can’t have more autonomy because a screwup HongKong doesn’t serve China’s interests.

  143. The Chinese are like that now because they’re an up and coming power, they need to compete with GloboHomo and the best way to do that is offer a hands-off model of vassalage. If/when they overtake GH and become the predominate superpower, their methods and demands could change, in which case, look out. All of us on here bitching about GloboHomo will be lamenting the good old days once it’s replaced by GloboSino.

That being said, I agree with Jason Liu, the Chinese are unlikely to try and make Russia its vassal. It would be a waste of resources, they can get what they want from the Russians anyway. Plus, there is a deep distrust and dislike of the Chinese in Russian culture, I’m sure they realize this. There’s pretty much zero risk that the Russians will cuck to the Chinese, there is still a large risk of them doing so to the Americans and Europeans.

I would’ve disagreed even a couple years ago

I would’ve agreed many years ago, when I myself was studying Greek and Latin, but in hindsight the opportunity cost was far too high. The cultural background, such as it is, I could have gotten just as well in translation, and the intellectual machismo could’ve been more properly expressed by learning more and harder science.

“Western civilization” as being rooted in the Latin and Greek classics is fundamentally a liberal, humanist myth, made up to stick it to the pope. Since most modern Europeans are either not beholden to the pope, or wish to continue being beholden to him, the myth has outlived its purpose.

I understand why Italians or Greeks, as a matter of national mythology, would want to study ancient languages, but other Europeans would do well to cultivate their own traditions. Russians, for example, have Kulikovo, Borodino, Kursk. What use would they have for Thermopylae? Who needs argonauts when you have cosmonauts?

  148. Belarusian Anon says

You overestimate the triumph of China. They will be competing with America and the rest of the West well into the century, they will have to treat minions well lest they defect

  149. So far, yes. We are speaking of a hypothetical in which China keeps rising and Russia becomes more isolated from the West and has nowhere else to go.

  150. Latin and Classical Greek are offered in good public schools in New England; not many take Greek but Latin is popular. Yet this region is quite leftist in its politics (albeit, in a self-interested “woke” way that keeps the middle and lower classes down – it remains very segregated despite the ideology).

  151. Agathoklis says

Utter rubbish. For a nation like Russia which is highly derivative of Hellas/Rome/Byzantium and had nothing original to contribute to the civilised world until the late 19th century, the Battle of Thermopyles or Lalakaon or the siege of Dorostolon, where Ioannis Tzimiskes laid his foot on the Grand Prince of Kiev, Sviatoslav’s neck, provide much needed successes to an otherwise miserable pre-modern history.

  152. The Big Red Scary says

Speaking of cosmonauts, Mrs. Big Red Scary and I watched Salyut 7, which is mostly well done, my biggest complaint being that the treatment of the “cold war” angle seemed to me rather implausible.

The cosmonauts are the perfect heroes and are worthy of the highest status in Russian society: besides the classic requirements of courage and self-sacrifice, they must also develop a wide range of technical skills and sublimate those to the advancement not only of the nation but of civilization as a whole.

I mean, there is not much connecting modern Russia with early Rurikid Rus’, or Muscovy, themselves quite distinct and distant from above written, as a matter of fact, and here you are proclaiming the exact opposite!

As a side note – if Russians have miserable history prior to Napoleonic wars – what can be said of post-Komnenian Greeks? Ottoman lackeys and servants —> Anglo lapdogs?

  155. Agathoklis says

Taking on some of the Great Powers of the time (Ottoman Turkey, Nazi Germany, Britain in Cyprus) and gaining territory after each war is quite a worthy achievement.

No Great Power intervention —-> Greek defeat —-> 1897 and 1922

  157. Agathoklis says

This is not my experience. On the road in Beijing, or Xian, or Suzhou there are cars, trucks, bicycles, carts, and pedestrians. Car drivers pass everything and everyone within an inch or two, but don’t hit anyone. I did not see a single accident in >2 weeks total.
In sharp contrast, in TN the roads are a lot less filled, the lanes are much wider, and there are only cars there. Yet local morons manage to get into accidents all the time: I see one virtually every day.
Frankly, with my American skills I won’t be bold enough to drive in Chinese cities. So, I can only admire Chinese drivers.

I was told this at first, but after living in China a few years I now know this is not true. But probably more consequential is the shirking of responsibility and the necessity of fierce arguments when there is a collision.

Well, supposing you are right about Tennessee maybe such things are relative to one’s normal standards, but as a Northwest European I consider Chinese driving manners subpar.

  162. Hyperborean says

I don’t like taking buses, the drivers are bad and honk unnecessarily, and the lower prices compared to metros make the interiors quite dirty.

On the other hand Chinese high speed railways (copied from Japanese and Germans and at the same standard) and the metro stations in all the cities I have been in are very good and under constant expansion. Fast and punctual with minimal rustling.

We can also add 1974. Although to be fair, Great Power intervention was directed against the Greeks in that situation.

  164. AnonFromTN says

Well, I don’t know about Northwest Europe. In my experience the most sensible drivers are in Germany (+ Austria), then (in descending order) follow British = Czech > French = Spanish = Portuguese > Hungarian ~ Croatian > Italian ~ Greek. Don’t have experience driving in other European countries. The drivers in the US are not very good. They are at least alert on the East and West coast, whereas in TN, Midwest, and South they appear to be sleep-driving. They drive a car as if they ride a horse: they can turn right from the left lane, or left from the right lane, so on the road you have to assume that you are the only sensible person at the wheel.

  165. AnonFromTN says

Usually I use public transportation wherever there is one – this reminds me of my younger days in Moscow. But in Beijing I did not risk it: everything in their metro is in Chinese, and I can’t read their hieroglyphs. Trains in Japan impressed me: high and regular speed are always on time. On many East-West lines across mountains they have only one track, which doubles at stations, so if they weren’t on time, they’d never get anywhere. In my experience there are only two countries where everything is on time: Japan and Switzerland. Despite myths, Germans are like everybody else: a few minutes late.

  166. Hyperborean says

But in Beijing I did not risk it: everything in their metro is in Chinese, and I can’t read their hieroglyphs.

How long ago was this? They should have English in Beijing metro and at least pinyin (usually pinyin for station names is fine, except something like 北站 or 西站 may be confusing the first time) now in major cities in general. The buse lines however don’t have any English on their station names and not always even pinyin.

So now Bolsonaro is potentially going to send in the army to quell the forest fires in the Amazonas, after getting into a spat with France and Ireland and them threatning to block the EU-Mercosur FTA that was just concluded (but not yet ratified).

He is obviously bending the knee, which caused his boomer generals to criticise him in not-so-veiled terms for surrending under foreign pressure. I am just asking what is the point of “owning the libs” to let 20% of the earth’s oxygen source burn?

Bolsonaro is a grade A example of the idiot right.

  169. Who needs argonauts when you have cosmonauts?

Not to sound rude (and apologies if it does), but this is a bit absurd – there is no substitution for unparalleled beauty of Greek world and mythology, and the subsequent miracle of Greece, with some 20th century engineering.

I would agree Ancient Greece does not need to be part of mass education. It only needs to be studied by people who will appreciate this, which will never be a majority of the public.

when I myself was studying Greek and Latin, but in hindsight the opportunity cost was far too high.

Because you had an unpleasant education (I remember also with Kant), does not imply that it will generalize for others.

Someone can have good teachers, another bad teachers. Someone might enjoy one subject, and not another. Even within the same course, people’s experiences vary wildly between different units – and people have wildly different opinions even of the same teacher and textbook.

    • Your experience is interesting though, because it seems like you were forced to study this, when you wanted to study modern language instead. It’s very often people who study the topic for their own hobby, who will enjoy it – while those forced, feel the opposite. Ancient Greece is probably better not forced as compulsory education for exactly this kind of reason, and the same with languages which are useful for people with particular obsessions, but are more difficult to learn and impractical for vast majority than the modern ones.

  170. I haven’t been in China, but even when in developed countries, I still find bus is usually somehow stressful and unpleasant to be a passenger in.

Have you been on a guided bus though? When the bus is locked onto the guided track, it suddenly feels much nicer and more comfortable inside and you can even read a book.

As a passenger, you notice the moment the guided bus locks onto the fixed track (if it was driving unguided part of the journey before), and from then it seems a pleasant form of transport.

  171. The Amazon is not the source of 20% of global oxygen.

The decomposition of organic matter and breathing of living beings (plants included) of Amazon consume any oxygen the plants there produce.

If that weren’t the case, the soil there would be very thick and full of nutrients – it isn’t, very thin and poor really, prompting slash and burn cycles for farming – the energy and nutrients are in living beings and decay is fast.

Contrast to boreal forests where lower temperatures translate into slow decomposition and accumulation of plant matter over time, thick soil layers ergo more carbon is deposited over time.

The oceans are the true lungs – cyanobacteria and algae have been that from the outset.

This Amazon = lungs is often repeated, but the value is biodiversity and primary forest area, not oxygen generation.

I understand why Italians or Greeks, as a matter of national mythology, would want to study ancient languages, but other Europeans would do well to cultivate their own traditions.

One can overdo it with nationalism, some form of cooperation is essential for EU nations, otherwise we’re getting crushed by outside powers. Knowing Latin provides a common cultural base for Europeans and connects us to our civilizational roots. This isn’t merely about ancient Rome either, but in some sense even more so about the Church fathers, medieval Christendom or the pan-European exchange of ideas in early modern Europe. And even from a strictly national perspective, Latin is important, since in most countries it was only replaced by the vernacular in the late Middle ages. Most of the historical sources for German history up to the 13th century at least are in Latin. Even a culture like Anglo-Saxon England which was exceptional in its use of the vernacular can’t be studied without knowledge of Latin.
Also there’s the issue, who’s against Latin: business über alles-types and lefties who think everything before their rise to power should merely figure as some negative pre-history.
So Latin imo shouldn’t be given up in what was once Latin Christendom. Obviously it’s different for Russia and other countries outside former Latin Christendom, but that’s not my business and I don’t care about it.

    20th century engineering

Despite their fondness for the artificial distinction between theoria and techne, I have no doubt that the ancient Greeks would have built a temple and composed an epic to honor Phoebus Gagarin.

Because you had an unpleasant education (I remember also with Kant), does not imply that it will generalize for others.

As a young university student, I had rather romantic ideas about liberal education, and
any pain was self-inflicted. In fact, I enjoyed even Kant at the time, and at least I didn’t piss away my time playing video games. I am only pointing out that the opportunity cost was high, particularly with the study of ancient languages. But I admit that I am glad that there are some eccentrics who spend their lives translating ancient texts so that I can sit back with a glass of wine and spend an evening enjoying the fruits of their labors.

  179. The Big Red Scary says

I’m familiar with in only a very shallow manner

  180. The Big Red Scary says

Traditional European education, so far as I understand, consisted mostly of Latin grammar and Euclid. Until some time in the early 19th century, this was reasonable. Latin provided a common language for European intellectuals, and Euclid’s treatment of geometry had not yet been superseded.
Nowadays we have English (for better or worse), and although the content of Euclid’s geometry still stands (the one universal and lasting contribution of the ancient Greeks), we can now do much more with much less effort.

One can overdo it with nationalism

I’m the rootless cosmopolitan around here, so I don’t disagree. Certainly I am interested in European history and culture, and while I voluntarily spent a fair amount of my youth reading Latin texts (particularly the letters of Pliny the Younger and Augustine’s Confessions), I can’t honestly say that I got so much more out of it than I would have in translation. That said, I don’t begrudge philologists their daily bread.

But surely the most lasting contributions of European civilization are scientific and musical (with a nod to gothic cathedrals, which even Boshirov and Petrov are wont to admire).

  186. I agree with your view about the importance of learning more languages – but for vast majority of people, it would be better to learn Spanish/French/Italian/Portuguese , instead of Latin.

I’m very happy I had decided to learn Spanish, instead of Latin. For one reason, I can actually use it sometimes in real life.

It’s also a lot easier to learn a living language than a dead one (there are a lot more resources – you can learn it from television).

Finally, I’m not sure how practical it is for a non-native to learn more than one Roman language. If I even try to learn Italian now, I will probably forget half of the Spanish I know. So it feels like you have to choose only one of them – then for most people it will be a living Roman language.

  187. at least I didn’t piss away my time playing video games

Well I have to disagree that video games, are necessarily pissing away time.

If you enjoyed those minutes when you play video games, then how can it be pissing away time?

only pointing out that the opportunity cost was high, particularly with the study of ancient languages.

And another problem with learning dead languages, is that it will always be easier to forget them (as well as harder to learn them).

With a living language, you can easily re-learn and re-practice it. Even if you cannot find a person to speak it with, you can just watch a video of people speaking, and all your memories of the language rapidly re-enforced.

  190. I was searching on the English media about Navalny and Central Asians, just to see if NYT might not would have double standards, and found an article where you were attacking Navalny for racism.

Your new articles are a lot better than your old ones, of course – but it looks like the old ones were written by almost by a different person?

A few weeks back Navalny brought my attention to this lovely song extolling Putin’s achievements by Tolibjon Kurbankhanov, a Tajik singer from Dushanbe.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcnQ9imDrWk

Navalny exhorts his minions to spread this clip far and wide. The writing between the lines is obvious. His reasons aren’t nice and altruistic, but utterly insidious, playing on xenophobia towards Central Asians. The idea being that hearing a Tajik singing in support of Putin will hurt his standing among “true” Russians. “Liberal fascism” may be met with bemused grins in the US, being the rhetoric of unhinged demagogues like Jonah Goldberg, but in Russia the term accurately describes the emerging alliance between liberal podpindosniki and ethnic nationalists, as best embodied by Navalny.

That said, I’m spreading this clip nonetheless. Not because I support Navalny, nor even because I support Putin, but because I support the idea of Russia as a multi-national federation. And because it really is a very nice song.

  191. Agathoklis says

A lot of talk about dead languages. Greek is not a dead language. An educated modern Greek speaker can easily read Koine Greek so they can access Digenis Akritas or Mavrikios’s Strategikon. With a little bit of training they can read and understand Xenophon’s Education of Cyrus. Plato’s Dialogues and Letters are a little more difficult. Homeric Greek is more difficult still. However, only Mycenaean Greek would required years and years of specialised training but there is not much literary interest there apart from the organisation of goatherds and ordering wine. Note, modern Greek also gives one access to a vast literature ranging from Dionysios Solomos to Panagiotis Kondylis. Greek is certainly not a dead language but simply a continuum where some periods are just more difficult to understand than others.

But it’s self limiting, and you don’t waste time, unlike using the internet – you turn it off after half an hour or at most 1 hour. And that time is usually very enjoyed.

Also it slows down time – so a 3 minute game, feels a lot longer than 3 minutes washing plates.

Whereas on this forum now we have to wait an hour to post more than 3 comments,

ones that most people actually play (e.g. WoW) are more like fast food that satiate the appetite and produce a temporary high but don’t result in anything good.

WoW is famous for destroying the lives of mentally ill people in a terrible addiction.

But these addictions are when people have compulsion to continue playing beyond actually enjoying it, or stop engaging the brain with new things.

If you turn off early enough so you didn’t stop enjoying it or being repetitive, I don’t think it’s wasted time.

There are tons of Chinese people at my university. Boy, are they creepy as hell. They remind me of insects. Some of the most sinister and LEAST allied people that we have.

Is it a special type of pre-cucked Indian that is leaving for the USA? Or is this just their attempt at “assimilating?” I mean the dominant culture really does hate white people.

  198. Vishnugupta says

Actually a mix of a lot of things.

    1. Indians like to tell non Indians what they want to hear in order to fit in.Most Indians who vote democrat are very enthusiastic RSS supporters when it comes to their own country. You will need to actually befriend an Indian before he let’s you know his real feelings which is next to impossible as we are a notoriously insular people(In every Anglo country we have a higher per capita income than whites but an inter race marriage/dating rate lower than Muslims even after 3 generations) still if an Indian starts discussing caste with you which is almost never done with non Indians then you basically have achieved a level of trust that should enable you to ascertain his true feelings.

    2. Till Modi began to reverse the tide post 2014 Indian elite were a card carrying member of globohomo this was completely at odds with Indian society which is straight and conservative. for example Even after 3 generations in the anglosphere you will not find a statistically significant number of Indian teen or out of wedlock pregnancies in the US/ Canada but the nearly vanquished globo Homo elites get all the press and the rank and file Indian likes to either shut up or wear a mask parroting whatever is in fashion in the host country.

That’s an interesting perspective. I generally think it is easier to learn a language if one has already picked up one in the same language group ex. I once had a Polish classmate who spoke Polish, Swedish and English and was using his knowledge of Polish to help him learn Russian and the Swedish part to learn German.

Is the TV connection worth it for a full Nintendo Switch or is better to buy the cheaper handheld-only version (i.e like an upgraded 3DS)? I don’t play video games as much as I used to right now so I was wondering if it was worth it.

  202. There are tons of Chinese people at my university. Boy, are they creepy as hell. They remind me of insects. Some of the most sinister and LEAST allied people that we have.

I wouldn’t go so far as to call them creepy, but a lot of them seem alien (as we would be to them). When we visited Vancouver with friends who now live in Texas, the latter reported feeling much more “at home” among Mexicans, who at least are Christian, speak a European language, and therefore are not so alien. But our friends love travelling to Italy.

That having been said, Chinese would more likely be quieter and less troublesome neighbors.

Great article which punctures some of the hype. Damien Ma has a good analogy:

    https://twitter.com/damienics/status/1162067516157583360

Guangdong, the center of Chinese manufacturing, can rely on an army of rural migrant workers to come from inland China. Vietnam has no such advantage and it is already running out of workers. India isn’t but Indian workers’ skill levels are abysmal (as revealed in the 2009+ PISA), and infrastructure deficits, red tape are much worse. Beyond a certain point of low-hanging fruit diversification, China will be very hard to replace.

  204. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them creepy, but a lot of them seem alien

As different authors wrote in this resource successful white men in the United States (including the racists – Suprematists) overrepresentatively often have a Chinese girlfriend/wife. Which contradicts your statement

Addiction is the raison d’etre of video games. It’s the bedrock of the video game industry that makes it possible and profitable.

Russia is currently weak, but if the statistics you post are anything to go by it’s on stable-ish ground

If Russia prevents Dugin from turning it into Greater Turkestan (more realistic then anyone in Europe stopping the flood of immigrants) it very well could become the last pole of European Civilization, maybe only V4 could be there with them and the eternal Balkan crockpot

It’d fit with your quasi-religious Sixth Proof theory about Russia being punished by God, if it comes out alive and thriving out of the 21st Century then the narrative can be that the 20th Century was a series of great divine trials on the Russians to prove they are worthy of being a Great Power, and that the tropical hyperborea was gifted to them by God as a reward for passing his tests

U.S. Aims to Block Chinese Acquisition of Ukrainian Aerospace Company

Washington objects to pending sale of Motor Sich on national-security grounds

WASHINGTON—U.S. national-security adviser John Bolton is seeking to scuttle the pending Chinese acquisition of a Ukrainian aerospace company on grounds that it will give Beijing vital defense technology, according to senior U.S. administration officials familiar with the matter.

Mr. Bolton’s personal interest and involvement in the deal, acknowledged by the senior administration officials, underscores the growing importance of this case to the U.S. national-security establishment.

The company, Motor Sich, is one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of helicopter and airplane engines, and for years has supplied engines for the bulk of the Russian military-helicopter fleet. A sale to a group of companies, including Beijing Skyrizon Aviation, controlled by Chinese businessman Wang Jing, is pending.

Staffers at the National Security Council and the U.S. Embassy in Kiev are working to schedule a meeting between Mr. Bolton and the aerospace firm’s chief executive next week in Kiev, where Mr. Bolton plans to attend a security conference, a senior administration official said.

“We are going to have a conversation with the Ukrainians about China’s ambitions and what our view is of what China’s up to,” said another senior administration official. “This is all part of the national-security strategy and the national-defense strategy. It’s a strategic competition with China.”

They are my focus and priority, just as finding a wife and having children became my priority — when I realized I was squandering my life too much on useless distractions, and letting years go by that I’d wish I could spend with my own family (which is exactly how I feel about some of those years now in retrospect).

He was quite honest with me about the state of South Asia, and to this day he’s the only South Asian I’ve ever met who didn’t claim that it was the greatest area in the history of the world. He was critical of both India and more so of Pakistan. We never talked about caste though.

I found his morals were much more “white” and “Christian” than most. I don’t know why, maybe it was his upbringing.

Sikhs (Punjabs) do not seem interested in Globohomo to me. The majority drive around shitty Hyundais blaring out annoying Punjabi music. They are almost all alcoholics.

This girl was quite religious btw and made him convert to Orthodox Christianity before marriage. Not just for the show also, she expected him to practice. How would other Indians see this sort of thing in general?

  235. Korenchkin says

made him convert to Orthodox Christianity before marriage

  236. India is a big country. There are people to whom caste is a big deal and people to whom caste is immaterial. I have no idea whether actual statistics bear this out but it seems, as a very general observation, that young urban people care little about caste, but that they seem to care more as they age, perhaps because of the sense of community caste brings. But, once again, India is a very big country and things vary a whole lot.

In a village where life revolves around the temple, on the other hand, caste will probably matter a lot.

There are a lot of Indian Christians (not percentage-wise, of course, but a lot none the less). A lot of Indian Hindus see conversion to Christianity as a betrayal. Most, though, particularly from the educated classes, probably wouldn’t give much of a damn. Hinduism is already a very syncretic religion anyway.

Here is more, from Chinese media. Is it lying?:

    http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2018-08/18/c_137398769.htm

On Aug. 15, The Washington Times media outlet published a story, which said that the U.S. administration must “pressure” Ukraine to halt the sales of jet engines produced by Motor Sich to China.

In a press statement that was published by Interfax-Ukraine news agency, Motor Sich stressed that China is the strategically important partner for Ukraine and warned that the possible halt in jet engines supplies may negatively affect Ukraine’s aircraft production industry.

Motor Sich, which is based in Zaporizhia city in southeastern Ukraine, is one of the largest jet engines manufacturers in the world. It delivers products to more than 100 countries worldwide.

I bolded parts because you have trouble reading.

Which intellectual property Ukraine is selling to the highest bidder now because they have no idea how to use it or even what it really is.

  244. Vishnugupta says

Yes it is as much a lie as saying that race doesn’t matter anymore.

Caste is fluid. It matters in all important things like marriage, being rented apartments(The only time I was straight up asked my caste was when I was looking to rent out an apartment in Mumbai,I have a very obvious upper caste (Brahmin) surname but the lady wanted to be absolutely sure!).

However in urban areas if you are middle class and upwards you won’t face trouble on the streets, restaurants, clubs etc or in employment opportunities in organized listed firms.

This Bulgarian girl example is so rare I don’t think there would be a stock response except perhaps disgust at the man.

The closest thing I know of personally is someone in my family marrying a Polish American woman and the woman later insisting the kids be raised Catholic. This guy was laughed at in all family gatherings as the idiot savant who married a Pole when he could have his pick of Brahmin Women(He was a VP at GE back in the 1980s and an IIT K and Stanford U graduate and not bad looking)

The kids though turned out really something slavic supermodel looks with a measured IQ north of 150(Both MENSA members) and as Ivy league educated adults insisted on self identifying as Brahmin but they were not accepted as Brahmin by any established Brahmin associations and generally are not invited to any family functions.Like conservative whites we are even less keen on our bloodlines mixing with others.

  245. Contempt not hatred.

“Despise” combines contempt with hatred. It’s not your native language, however.

Is representative of the multicultural elite (he is clearly not Ukrainian)

Of course he is a Ukrainian. You might think his surname is Armenian, but “Omelyan” is the Ukrainian version of “Emil.”

That he just steals – the fantasy of the clueless melanf.

Omelyan has been a rather effective transport minister in Ukraine, overseeing significant improvements under his direction:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volodymyr_Omelyan#Work_During_his_Tenure_as_the_Minister_of_Infrastructure_of_Ukraine

Conducted in 2016, the reform of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine introduced the principles of transparency and fair competition. As a result, since 2016, the air market has been growing at a record pace – 30% per year.[8] Volodymyr Omelyan initiated the launch in Ukraine of the biggest low-cost airline in Europe – Ryanair and announced 2018th a year of budget airlines in Ukraine.[9] In 2017 the passenger traffic carried by Ukrainian airlines increased by 29,6% and the passengers flow through the Ukrainian airports grew up to 28,8%. Since 2015 the number of air lines that are served by low-cost carriers has doubled – from 18 to 38 routes. Kyiv’s Boryspil International Airport reached the highest indicators in its history – for one year the number of passengers increased by 2 million and reached the level of 10,45 million passengers including 3 million of transfer passengers attracted from foreign markets. In 2017, Ukraine successfully passed the audit of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Motor Sich used to be a de-facto Russian company, making engines for Russian helicopters, presumably as a form of outsourcing.

After 2014 Poroshenko made a grand gesture and ‘sanctioned’ Russia, by banning Motor Sich cooperation with Russian companies, which in effect bankrupted Motor Sich.

Now they’re trying to salvage something out of this clusterfuck mess by holding a going-out-of-business fire sale to the Chinese. (Because Motor Sich is almost totally integrated into supply chains of Russian companies, and the stuff they make is pretty useless outside them.)

Ukraine being Ukraine, this unbelievably moronic footgun operette will inevitably result in an even bigger and moronic failure.

  247. Now they’re trying to salvage something out of this clusterfuck mess by holding a going-out-of-business fire sale to the Chinese. (Because Motor Sich is almost totally integrated into supply chains of Russian companies, and the stuff they make is pretty useless outside them.)

Chinese media states Motor Sich exports to 100 countries.

Chinese media also states that China planned to invest $250 million in the plants in Ukraine.

  250. Of course he is a Ukrainian.

Well, let it be a Ukrainian member of the multicultural Ukrainian elite, which has a very multicultural appearance.

That he just steals – the fantasy of the clueless melanf.
Omelyan has been a rather effective transport minister

    2017:
“Omelyan plans to create a Hyperloop in Ukraine, which will move Ukrainian passengers inside the pipeline at a speed of about 600 km/h.
On behalf of the Ministry Omelyan said that the Ministry of Infrastructure “attracted to the project from the Ukrainian side the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, “Ukroboronprom”, “Production Association southern machine-building plant. Makarova” (“Yuzhmash”), “Kakhovsky plant of electric welding equipment”, “Interpipe Ukraine”, Unit.City development Agency of the Dnieper river, Ukrainian Institute for the future and Platform innovation, as well as foreign company Octagonal Corporation”

But of course if we judge by the growth of air traffic the most effective (and honest?) transport ministries work in Africa

  251. AnonFromTN says

Outsourcing took ~ 20 years. How many decades would the reversion you propose take? What would American economy look like in the interim? Would there even be an economy to salvage?

    https://www.cnet.com/news/ukraine-has-plans-for-a-hyperloop/

Ukraine is yet another country hopping on the hyperloop train to the future.

The country’s Infrastructure Ministry signed an agreement Thursday with US-based Hyperloop Transportation Technologies to begin building a commercial hyperloop system — a trainlike transportation setup that industry watchers say will be able to hit airplane speeds and shorten travel time from hours to minutes.

“Ukraine is at the crossroads of the new Silk Road transportation corridor and we can expect Hyperloop to play a major role in connecting Europe and Asia,” HTT CEO Dirk Ahlborn said in a release.

But of course if we judge by the growth of air traffic the most effective (and honest?) transport ministries work in Africa

Which ones have seen higher than Ukraine’s 30% annual growth? Any on Ukraine’s scale?

Omelyan has also seen a massive expansion of good roads in Ukraine.

    From wiki:

In 2016-2017, more than 3000 km of roads were repaired and built,[17] which is more than in the previous 10 years. In 2018 a record 4000 km of highways are planned to be rehabilitated

Simply theft would involve large budgets but no to few results. Under Omelyan we have significant results.

So you are repeating your Ukraine-cluelessness. Nothing new.

  254. “Omelyan plans to create a Hyperloop in Ukraine, which will move Ukrainian passengers inside the pipeline at a speed of about 600 km/h.”

It is possible (although the probability of this is low) that Omeljan just honest idiot (which honestly believes in Ukrainian hyperloop and Ukrainian flag in Vladivostok). This means that the clinical idiot was appointed Minister in order to create the best conditions for stealing by other people.

  260. But what’s your point?

Just making sure. While people who abstain from both video games and TV can be respected, boomers who virtue signal against games while watching TV are subhuman scum who need to be exterminated in death camps.

  261. I’m guessing that was a straight up lie?

Correct. That is my strong impression. This is also what an Indian friend at my university told me.

He later admitted that it remained of considerable importance once I demonstrated that it wasn’t just some random thing I read in passing about India.

  262. Switch Lite? It has not been released yet… so no reviews I guess.

But I would definitely buy normal Switch instead. Personally, I only like playing it with TV, compared to handheld.

Switch outputs a few games like Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey and Smash Bros Ultimate at 1080p, 60 FPS – in those games, it can even match an excellent TV.

In some games like smash bros ultimate, you just need a TV to follow your character, because camera is zooming in and out too much, and some of the stages are too visually “noisy”.

I don’t play video games as much as I used to right now so I was wondering if it was worth it.

It can be bad value for money – because of high price and limited original games (although there are a lot of cheap ports now).

But if you have a TV to dock to, I would just say you should definitely buy one, and as soon as possible. I only would not get it for handheld only.

I generally think it is easier to learn a language if one has already picked up one in the same language group

But if Polish is his native language? You don’t easily overwrite your native language. But you can mix up other second languages for sure- especially if they are too similar to each other.

If you learn Spanish as your third language, and then Italian as your fourth? Italian could easily start to overwrite your Spanish, as they are so similar.

If it says in this website that successful white men in the United States have a Chinese wife, then I will assume that successful white men in the United States do not have a Chinese wife, until further information.

As for Chinese people being alien. I think it is true today they are one of the most difficult nationalities to be friends with socially.

But it is also changing now, and they are civilizing obviously quite fast – some younger ones seem already Europeanized culturally, and the proportion like this will continue to increase as long as Chinese economy continues to develop.

  266. I didn’t claim it was “so successful.” Your people were claiming that it has ceased to exist.

  267. Boswald Bollocksworth says

I can report that “Sinophobia” is deeply woven into the American mind, a conclusion we reach without any prodding. Yanks can be Russophobic and Sinophillic, but this is due to poisonous libertarian narcissism and obsession with anticommunism. Russophobia in core-Americans has to be taught, and to be maintained at a cost.

To the Anglo-American, Russia is potentially seductive, the way Germany is potentially seductive (both are “Apollonian” cultures). The imagery of Russia, frozen forests, iron works reminds us of upstate New York, western PA and of Wisconsin. The tanks on red square are appealing, the Red Army choir is appealing, the pretty women are disarming, the Russian men giving toasts make us wish we could also be in groups where toasts are given, instead of going to wine bar for tasteful banter or eating hot dogs with our overweight relatives. You can see this in the way American gun culture is roughly divided between those who really like ComBloc surplus and those who are low-IQ faggots and only buy shitty American weapons. Russia has low Church attendance, it is true, but I’ve found that Americans instinctively feel some reverence for the small, but highly pious Church-goers in Russia. The more an American looks into Russia, the morn the Russian is humanized, this is the opposite case with the Chinese. The more he looks into China, the more the American’s worst fears are confirmed.

Prole Americans instinctively mock the Chinese. They were never taught to, they just do this for Cochranian reasons of ‘dumb people believing X, smart people believing Y, really smart people believing X’. When I was a child, saying anything negative about negros was absolutely forbidden. Negros were sacred. However, it was open season for jokes about the Chinese, aping their awkward accents, grammar errors and mannerisms. No one hated the Chinese, but they sure were a ridiculous type of human to reference. Some people see the Chinese as fonts of ancient eastern wisdom, and indeed the Celestials do know a thing or two. But inevitably, the Sinophile will find, as he learns Chinese, spends time there and around them, that the prole is fundamentally right about the Chinaman, particularly the ChiCom.

I’ve lived in China, learned Chinese and spent the last decade working on teams in corporate offices ranging between 80% and 20% Han Chinese. There’s a non-linear increase in generalized unpleasantness as the proportion of Chinese go up, particularly Chinese men. I am not the first to report this. The Chinese are a highly unbalanced class, capable of intense focus and long work hours, able to solve well defined but challenging logic problems, but totally obtuse and prone to miss the forest for the trees, totally dishonest, and transparently treasonous in an almost comical way. They live up completely to their stereotypes.

The great tragedy of our time is that the natural Russo-American alliance wasn’t allowed to happen, due, ultimately, to a lack of group consciousness and cohesion on behalf of Anglo-Americans. America should have let Russia bottom out around 1997, and then gone full Marshall Plan on them, making Russia into the new Germany or Japan, against the inevitable, HBD-fueled, rise of China. Instead, foolish pig-Americans allowed their political class to run various psychological ops on them, drive them into stupid wars on behalf of a parasite nation, and open the national butt cheeks for Chinese exploitation.

    • By the way, do you know the story of Maglev?

Even the testing track failed in Germany, with many deaths.

Maglev was first proposed and prototyped by Professor Eric Laithwaite at Imperial College London. I saw the first model when I was interviewed there in 1970. Nobody in the UK would back him financially except for a very short section built at Birmingham airport. Germany, (I can’t remember the company – was it a Max Planck Institute project? ) took it up much more seriously. I guess the patents had expired by the time the Chinese built theirs, not that there would have patents in Germany (no European patents then – roll in Brexit) and certainly no sense in filing in China.

Logical interpretation is that Russia will one day join the EU

With this kind of logic people are best advised to see their psychiatrist (a real one, not a shrink or some other quack).

The last few years were a turning point in Russian psyche. Finally, the people realized that Russia is an independent civilization, neither Europe, nor Asia. The majority stopped looking to Europe as an example of something positive. It is mostly considered an example of what not to do.

Russia will never join the EU for a number of reasons. First, there would be a question of who is joining whom. Just look at the map: Europe is a pimple on a huge body of Asia, like India or Indochina, less populous that the former and more populous than the latter. European delusions of grandeur are coming to a bitter end. Second, the EU bureaucrats would never agree to that: their habitual US boot-licking would be over, and that’s the gist of their jobs. To get a “leadership” position in the EU, you have to pathetically loose the elections in your own country (current examples: Tusk, Juncker, Ursula von der Leyen). Third, the EU is in no mood to expand, as with accumulated problems it is a lot more likely to fall apart.

Finally, Ukraine has no more chances of joining the EU than Burkina Faso or Republic of Palau. So, the likelihood of Ukrainian flag over Vladivostok is about the same as of that flag over the Moon, Mars, or Venus. Or the likelihood that Down Syndrome sufferers would change the colors of their flag out of respect for Ukraine. Sweet dreams!

It’s their EMS Maglev design (the same one which crashed in Germany). In Birmingham it looks like a similar EMS Maglev – but it was only low-speed.

    • The coolest ones are being developed in Japan, just very slowly.

These are EDS Maglev which uses superconducting magnets which have to be cooled to over minus 200 degrees.

They’ve been developing EDS Maglev trains in Japan since the 1970s, – and were winning all speed records – but there is still no high-speed track in Japan.

E.g. Testing the trains in 2003. (apparently the first high-speed EDS Maglev will open in Japan in 2027).

They are numerically a fairly big sub caste and also have among the best looking women of any sub caste in India so nowadays a lot of Khatri women have married into many other upper caste communities. Caste restrictions have relaxed in India in the sense that intra upper caste marriages (Brahmin,Kshatriya, Vaishya) are very common. Protection is but the law of nature, the law of self-preservation, of self-development, of securing the highest and best destiny of the race of man. [It is said] that protection is immoral … Why, if protection builds up and elevates 63,000,000 [the U.S. population] of people, the influence of those 63,000,000 of people elevates the rest of the world. We cannot take a step in the pathway of progress without benefiting mankind everywhere. Well, they say, “Buy where you can buy the cheapest” … Of course, that applies to labor as to everything else. Let me give you a maxim that is a thousand times better than that, and it is the protection maxim: “Buy where you can pay the easiest.” And that spot of earth is where labor wins its highest rewards.

    70-75% african in recent years.

Quit cherry picking and making excuses for American men and women worshipping African sports “stars.”

As for the NHL, I love hockey, but it is by far the least popular and culturally influential of the four major pro sports leagues in North America. It might even fall below MLS as massive Latino immigration and other factors boost soccer in the USA. So it’s great that the NHL is almost all white, but that, and the sport, don’t mean much to the great majority of Americans outside some US-Canada border states and a few other metro areas around the USA. I think you know that too.

Keep on with your self-reassuring nonsense about how manly it is to watch sports for hours on end — at the expense of meaningful time with your family, physical exercise, community involvement and charitable work, and you know, actually going outside and living life in the real world where things are generally not improving here in the formerly great USA.

It is not manly or admirable to sit in front of that big glowing screen that you pay for, that overwhelmingly enriches bad, stupid, or vulgar people, disproportionately Africans in the two moronic sports that unfortunately dominate US culture, the NFL and the NBA in that order.

Yeah, Tom Brady proves your point.

The interview re-confirms two fundamental assumptions I have: A) jews cannot ever be advocates for whites because of their split identity, even jews like Ms. Wax who explicitly call for a pro-white immigration policy B) in the end it all comes down to guts. It’s that simple. When he zeroes in on her, she squirms like a worm. She is obviously very high verbal IQ, which is why she is very hard to catch even for a seasoned journalist. But in the end, she never says point blank what needs to be said. You can’t snake yourself out of a central demand forever. At some point you have to state very clearly what needs to be said and be unflinching about it. Courage is an underappreciated character trait. Also it doesn’t work if one of your parents is from a non sub continental race. These a laws are in continuous use from the early bronze age when the circumstances i.e. the hierarchy of civilized races were rather different.

The core custom of a Hindu wedding the 7 vows with the god of fire (Agni Deva) as the witness is word for word unchanged from the early Bronze age.In case you wonder what the ceremonial fire at Hindu wedding s is all about.

Parts of the old Marriage horoscopes include references to similar communities in Sumeria which would be useful if any descendants of the high priests of Summeria decided to reappear after three-four millennia. The closest approximation to whites in the old scriptures which is used by corrupt priests to officiate upper caste Hindu white European marriages is the code related to Saka( Scythian) which is a modification of convenience used to officiate marriages of conquering Scythian tribes who conquered parts of North India and local Kshatriya women. This happened in 200 BC but is still technically valid under Hindu marriage customary law.

Brahmin(caste)- Bengali Brahmin(sub nationality)-kulin Bengali Brahmin(sub caste)- kashyap gotra is how I would be classified for marriage purposes.

In terms of group functioning in everything except marriages though Upper Caste Hindus today function by and large as one coherent dominant group across all 18 major linguistic and sub caste groups total numbering around 200 million.

I guess that this would be a counter-point to Dmitry’s pro-tourist arguments (extra resources, the city’s infrastructure becomes nicer, more restaurants of higher quality etc), which are not bad in of themselves. However, overreliance on tourism can lead to complete cultural alienation of the natives, for which the city is ostensibly built for.

I would frankly welcome a trade war with the US. It would provide the political cover to purge the US internet companies and even media. The US is the number one source of toxic anti-White cultural poison and anything that can sever the links between Europe and the US would be welcome. We’d do just fine without ZOG. By contrast, Europe is the essential force multiplier for the US empire. US would survive without us as a vassal bloc, but it would be far more diminished and far less effective in putting on economic sanctions on rival countries etc.

I would only change this stance if the US ever purged its jewish oligarchy in favor of a pro-European ruling class, which would also have to be made up of Europeans. I view the chance of this ever happening as extremely remote.

But problem here is unusually annoying type of tourists in Prague (drunk sex tourists, etc). In this case, the solution is in the article – is to stop marketing themselves for “pub crawls” as well as sex tourism, brothels, low prices, cheap beer, etc.

And Prague should refocus their image for cultural tourism, romantic tourism, and as a glamorous or expensive tourism environment.

It’s the transition now they should from try to move away from a “cheap tourism” market, to a focusing on more of luxury tourism market.

    • Why is St. Moritz for luxury tourists and Prague for drunk sex tourists? – it’s partly currency exchange and cheap beer prices. But a lot of this is also just a path-dependent cultural/marketing for different markets.

Sorry to point this out, but so far Ukrainian history is most consistent with the combination of these two explanations.

Very relevant actually, but since this is already more than 300 posts, don’t know if he will see this. A professor who works in Kansas and has a government grant, accepted another position in China. Happens pretty often with various professors who take a second affiliation in Saudi Arabia for example. He didn’t tell Kansas though (don’t know how common that is). I am not surprised by this revelation. Read Peter Beinart’s book on Israel, it contains a lot of previously unreported/”unmentionable” facts about Obama’s connections to jews. It was a book mainly aimed at a liberal élite jewish audience, so he is willing to write things there which he wouldn’t in a mainstream publication. To cut a long story short, Obama was deeply involved in Palestinian circles in Chicago but quickly ditched them for not just some jews but literally all jews, since he knew that was how you got ahead in politics.

That’s how he first became a senator in Illinois, by getting the backing of people like pritzker and getting involved with Rahm Emanuel, and later he expanded this group to other jews to get nationwide office. Obama, like Clinton, understood that the US is a jewish oligarchy and he played according to the rules. He just aimed at the “liberal” wing of the jewish oligarchy, which ends up in the same place as the Likudnik wing just with more kvetching about “israel’s soul” and 10 year lags.

So it seems that Israel is bombing Lebanon for the first time since 2006 now. The temperature is rising in the West Bank also after a spate of terrorist attacks, which are not exactly surprising given the brutal occupation there. Netanyahu just got a big present for his re-election bid.

Either way, Blue & White (supposedly ‘centrist’) have already ruled out sitting with the Arab Joint List. This reduces the center-left bloc to just 41 seats. The rightwing bloc (without Lieberman’s YB party) is at around 56 in the latest Channel 12 poll. You need 61 MKs to form a government. YB has around 10.

In recent interviews, both Gantz (leader of B&W) and Lieberman have explicitly hoped for a new Likud leader, i.e. an internal palace coup. But the intelligence/security establishment, which dislikes Netanyahu, have tried to get rid of him for years and failed. Why would they succeed now? And even if they succeeded, what makes them think that the new Likud leader would allow a clown like Gantz to rule, given his own weak position.

Once, there was a fire in Canada, and even though I was at least 150 miles from the border, at that time, and probably more than 300 miles from the fire, I swear I could smell it, that there was a slight haze in the air.

  341. yes – poz makes it harder to develop

the main caveat is if a country is on the front-line of imperial conflict (e.g. Ukraine, Japan etc) then it will be a lot harder cos the two main vectors of pozworld (US media and US govt) are combined whereas in more out of the way places the vector is mostly just US media.

to counteract US media (and also native libertines who seem attracted to media work) what a country needs imo is some form of TV that promotes trad values, by stealth if necessary, especially for young children – by stealth i mean things like making kids cartoons based on mythology or history so things like traditional gender roles can be defended on the grounds of accuracy.

for college age kids just don’t fund any cultural Marxist degrees.

imo the key thing is keeping the poz away from children until they reach full maturity (which on average is early 20s imo).

  342. one of the things white liberals don’t get is how much other ethnic groups despise this sort of behavior – liberals think they’re creating a happy little melting pot but it’s actually a cauldron.

for example during the last London riots (2011?) the various non-white and non-black ethnic enclaves formed their own little local militias and attacked random black people coming into their turf – media didn’t report it of course.

  343. I think it is possible, but it would probably require a regime-led strategy. It may also require a certain type of political system too.

Congresses that meet longer are probably more susceptible to lobbying and subversion.
For this reason, communism may have an increased immunity.

I was just thinking about this striking fact: in the US, Congress didn’t meet until 7 months after the sinking of the Lusitania. Definitely, wouldn’t happen today. What is the reason for that? Airplanes? A growing swamp of corruption? Or is it just one facilitating the other?

  344. Athletic and Whitesplosive says

Offensive linemen tend to be white cuz the tougher guys dominate defense and running positions. And blacks dominate recieving.

Offensive linemen tend to be white along with quarterbacks because they’re more intellectually taxing positions and all efforts to use the negroids that are usually d linemen in that position have been an abysmal failure

Considering blacks are a minority in the West, their domination of many events is undeniable. Most of the great fighters have been blacks.

Maybe most of the great boxers, most of the great mma fighters? No. And there’s also the fact that juvenile athletic development programs favor blacks who reach puberty faster, and that the prospects of blacks to make a good living in a real job compared to whites and asians is limited, hence why there’s as many aspiring pro afleets as there are urban yoofs. Any white parent who wanted their child to pursue athletics rather than finding real work is rightly seen as a moron hoping to win the lottery.

Baseball isn’t particularly athletic, and most blacks have no interest in hockey.

And once they come into contact with the thuggish black players most whites have no further interest in basketball. But it’s just the usual refrain of “when blacks dominate it’s athletic superiority, when whites do it’s because blacks aren’t interested”. Right, so the reason they don’t become stars in the mlb, displace the white un-athletes and make millions for nothing is because… it’s not athletic enough for them and they don’t care to? Because it’s typical of nigs to refuse basically free money, yeah right.

    Who dominates sprinting and basketball?

Who dominates swimming, wrestling, strongman and other strength sports? Would it be too cruel to ask who dominates science and engineering?

But in any case your anti-white apologetics have missed his point entirely. He wasn’t trying to prove white athletic superiority, but rather arguing (poorly) that pro sports hadn’t descended entirely into anti-white negro worship staged by and for the profit of rabidly anti-white globo-corps.

  346. RadicalCenter says

    Okay, I stand corrected, brother.

  347. I have a new blog post on a future scenario called the Age of Malthusian Industrialism:

Anatoly Karlin’s idea of The Age of Malthusian Industrialism (hereafter, AoMI) is the hypothetical future which will emerge given no dramatic, world-changing technological breakthroughs: no artificial intelligence comparable with that of humans, no anti-aging tech, no or minimal genetic engineering of humans. There will no doubt be further technological advances, solar panels will get marginally more efficient, crop yields will increase, but nothing so dramatic as to shock anyone alive today, or even a decade or two ago. The world continues as it does and future generations live as most humans have throughout history: with minimal technological change during their lifetimes. In this scenario, natural selection goes to work to bring fertility back above replacement-level, and continues to act in this way until the world reaches it’s true carrying capacity, this assumes there is no population control measures sufficient to prevent it. The world becomes “Malthusian,” as it was throughout most of human history.

There has been little effort put into investigating the AoMI, in either academia or science fiction. The most detailed investigation is Anatoly Karlin’s AoMI series. While visions of an overcrowded, Malthusian world are common in science fiction, they generally assumed that it is imminent at the time the works were written, often a generation away. Usually, they assumed that population growth was “natural” unless prevented by governments, and thus the inhabitants of these crowded worlds were no different than their ancestors. The AoMI, in contrast, recognizes that the natural state of industrial humans is fertility close to or below 2.0. Natural selection will be required to change humans to want more children, which will change them in other ways as well. The inhabitants of the age of Malthusian industrialism,(“Malthdustrials”) will differ psychologically from their ancestors, in ways which will affect their world. This post attempts to describe this world in some detail, its origin, characteristics, and eventual end.

Crimean War?…a particularly disgusting British betrayal considering trade /relations between the countries had been at their highest level in the time immediately preceding the war ( the British were paid from Saint Petersburg to build the first bridge across the Dnieper, payment wasn’t actually given because the war started soon after it was constructed – although they were paid soon after)

Finnish Civil War – British ( and Germans) support against the Reds

Winter War – British & German support again, against USSR

Not accepting the Tsar’s family in exile?

The still not disproven theory that the British and Americans simply wanted the Soviets and Nazi’s to destroy eachother…and WTF classifies as “critical” ahead of the Soviets own actions? Whilst the British fought gallantly, it should be remembered that their Channel Islands were under control of the Nazis, without any fight, throughout the war….and the underlying theory that D-Day was more related to the Soviet advance than liberating France

  352. Up toI guess the problem is that if you are a poor country like Vietnam, the only way to get rich and give your people a decent standard of living is to encourage Western investment, which also brings in globohomo, look at call centers in the Philippines, but then the two are basically tied at the hip and can’t be separated from the other (the Western money and the poz), and obviously for a country is Vietnam encouraging massive Chinese investment as an alternative is simply not possible for obvious reasons. And outside of Western multinationals basically no one has the capital required to bring the vast majority of your people out of earning a dollar a day in perpetuity. And as for 85 IQ people, they may be stupid, but Jim Crow South showed that they can be made to be largely functional (in fact more functional and a lot less pozzed than modern day prole whites) provided that the whip hand stays strong and logical.

    https://www.eurasiareview.com/23032017-reexamining-russias-past-analysis/

    https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2017/03/22/reexamining-russias-past/

    Excerpt –

In his memoirs, Alexander Kerensky quotes British Prime Minister David Lloyd George’s basis for Britain’s non-support to the Russian Civil War era Whites. Kerensky references this excerpt from Lloyd George’s September 17, 1919 House of Commons speech:

Denikin and Kolchak are fighting for two main objects. The first is the destruction of Bolshevism and the restoration of good government in Russia. Upon that, they could get complete unanimity among all the forces, but the second is that they are fighting for a reunited Russia. Well, it is not for me to say whether that this is a policy which suits the British Empire. There was a very great statesman…Lord Beaconsfield, who regarded a great, gigantic, colossal, growing Russia rolling onwards towards Persia and the borders of Afghanistan and India as the greatest menace the British Empire could be confronted with.”

The Germans and Josef Pilsudski led Poles had a somewhat similar logic as well. (These and other related matters are discussed in my Strategic Culture Foundation piece of April 7, 2016, carried over to my Eurasia Review column. Included, is a reply to the inaccurate perception of heavily foreign supported Whites opposing the Reds, minus any foreign support.)

WW I arguably played a hand in how Stalin behaved before Operation Barbarossa (the Nazi attack on the Soviet Union). It has been said that he kept in mind what happened when Russia confronted Germany in WW I, before it was well prepared to do so.

  360. Thanks! Will blog about it.

  361. On the 80th anniversary of WW2 start, Poland invited:
    -NATO,
    -EU members
-Eastern partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia and Belarus)

    No Russia or Serbia.

Nice. Excellent for domestic anti-EU and anti-West rhetorics.

  363. This is the first I’ve heard of ‘Franco’s economic miracle’.

  364. Thulean Friend says

Most of the FDI into Vietnam comes from other East Asian countries.

  365. Vishnugupta says

Spanish Economic Miracle may be eclipsed in relative terms by other countries but what Franco achieved was quite remarkable and praiseworthy.

In 1914 Spain was in PPP terms poorer than Czarist Russia and had no remotely comparable smart fraction or resource windfall to build on. This very humble base was then comprehensively devastated by the Spanish civil war.

From this starting point he first set about exterminating left wing trouble makers of all stripes. In this noble cause he used Nazi help but was neutral enough not to face eviction by the allies after WW2.He in fact was invited into NATO and managed to secure substantial economic assistance which he then judiciously used in a very non Southern European manner.

Then in the quest for transforming Spain into a modern developed country he roped in technocrats aligned with Opus Dei to man various policy positions in government and run state owned enterprises and the result was that Spain over a period of 30+ years transformed into a entry level industrialized country. This base then allowed Spain to transform into a fully developed country by the 1990s with impressive globally competitive capabilities in diverse industries like naval shipbuilding (Navantia) and rolling stock manufacturing(Talgo,CAF) among others.

Spain today is in PPP per capita terms slightly richer than Italy and in nominal terms around the EU average.

Though not as spectacular as say Bismarck’s industrialization of Germany post 1871 it nevertheless is a very successful transformation story and is largely ignored because the means used to achieve this end don’t appeal to those who run today’s higher education and media industries. But the truth is out there and has never been easier to come across try googling Spanish Economic miracle and Opus Dei technocrats in Franco’s Spain..you may like what you see..

    Sure, any day now.

EU membership for Serbia has to arguably be the most cringe and worst meme ever made in the 21st century, to date.

  368. Makes sense if your establishment came to power that way: same deal with Germany celebrating its own surrender.

  369. reiner Tor says

It’s interesting that the Hungarian nationalist right (to the right of Fidesz; though Fidesz was way to the left of where they are now, especially in 1997) was opposed to both NATO and EU memberships.

I think you’d be better off outside both, even if your neighbors are all members, or will be soon.

  370. Korenchkin says

Reading about imminent Serbian achievement of membership in the EU is like reading about imminent achievement of Communism in the Eastern Block newspapers

  376. Yeah, I saw a (pretty sure it was) CNN segment with some hack congressman militantly going against such a move.

We saw what happened after Trump proposed having Russia back in the G7/G* – something which Russia should just simply middle finger.

An update on the reported swap:

    https://www.rt.com/news/467607-no-prisoner-exchange-friday/

In its reporting on this matter, the BBC shows it bias by emphasizing the Ukrainian prisoners held by Russia. The surmised round about suggestion being that the prisoners held by Ukraine are more deserving of internment.

  377. Why are you badgering like a woman?

  378. Korenchkin says

Less Ukies being housed and fed on Government budget

  379. How much is actual economic miracle, structured societal and economic progress, and how much would be US/West donations, loans, investments, opening of Western markets and borders for Spanish migrant workers, solving both unemployment and providing remissions?

What happened with Spain afterwards, where did those Opus Dei technocrats and their expertise evaporate?

I am rather sceptical of such narratives – Spanish society has been fundamentally flawed for centuries and those weaknesses and problems surfaced in post-Cold War world of today with significantly decreased geostrategic importance of Spain.

  380. Felix Keverich says

That’s a stupid argument. Should we release every prisoner, because keeping people in prison has a cost?

  381. Korenchkin says

That’s a false equivalence and you know it
Besides, aren’t these guys getting traded for some other prisoners?

I don’t understand why you’re screeching over every little thing, it stinks of insecurity

  382. Should we release every prisoner, because keeping people in prison has a cost?

In the case of the US, I advocate outsourcing prisons to other countries. This will, of course, have the added benefit of facilitating repatriation of ethnic nationals.

  383. Oh grow up already, will you? It’s unbecoming of a Russian to react this way to something as inconsequential as a prisoner exchange. And why would Putin be desperate to revive the Minsk process, anyway? The whole point of Minsk II is that it has terms with which the Ukrainians can’t comply for political reasons. It also shouldn’t need to be pointed out that this exchange is a result of the transfer of power in Kiev, not some change of strategy on the Russian side.

  384. Vishnugupta says

Spain along with the rest of the west is in relative decline and descending into degeneracy. My point was Franco ran a relatively competent ship till the 1970s when he died and the average Spaniard was incomparably better of as a result.

In conservative religious societies regimes trying modernization often fail due to opposition from religious organizations and a broad backlash from the people like Iran in 1979.Franco succeeded in co opting conservative Catholics in his modernization drive.

In the distant past Spain has also completely eradicated Islam from its soil after many centuries of occupation something no other major country colonized by followers of that vile faith have been able to accomplish.

Given the fact that the biggest threat to civilized societies is the unholy Islamo Leftist alliance there is something to be learned from a country which for many decades kept this at bay while also successfully modernizing.

  385. AnonFromTN says

I would have been disgusting if it were true. The whole “exchange” thing was a hoax, typical fake news.

  386. AnonFromTN says

I can’t share your optimism. I just came back from Barcelona. I was appalled by the number of halal places there and the numbers of women in head-scarfs in the streets. Spain appears to be surrendering to the same Islam it presumably kicked out. I’d like to think there is hope for Europe, but I can’t.

  387. Felix Keverich says

Not entirely fake news. Sentsov was brought to Moscow, Putin’s bud Medvedchuk came to pose for cameras, and sources in the Russian government confirmed that they are negotiating prisoner exchange.

Perhaps, Ukrainian official intentionally leaked the news to sabotage the whole thing? I hear it caused quite a ruckus in the Ukraine. If so, I should probably thank Ukrainians for keeping Sentsov in prison. For now.

  388. AnonFromTN says

Well, maybe even Ukies do something right once in a while, for a change. Or maybe it was all a hoax used by both sides for their ulterior purposes. Wouldn’t surprise me. Medvedchuk is certainly scum, but who in Ukraine isn’t?

  389. Felix Keverich says

Medvedchuk is Putin’s most trusted friend and his point man in the Ukraine. We (Russia, Putin regime) are putting a lot of faith in Medvedchuk and are working to build him up.

  390. AnonFromTN says

Maybe Putin is putting some faith in Medvedchuk. Personally, I wouldn’t trust him with a penny. He is just a smarter crook than Ukie “patriots”, nothing more. Boyko is another one of those. Maybe Putin is promoting smarter crooks over dumber ones in Ukraine, as he did in Russia.

  391. Hard to really see a peacefull end to all of this, either Western European countries have a few Yugoslavia style ethnic conflicts or the new Europeans(tm) give them the South Africa treatment in a few decades, neither of which are “good” outcomes
Might aswell write off some countries as too far gone, such as Sweden and Western Germany

The French (ruling class) really seem to be embarcing this, they have an entire Silk Road planned for West and Central Africa, I wonder how that will play with Chinas interests there

  392. I wonder how that will play with China’s interests there

My guess is, it would play nicely. The Chinese and French elites would get their profits. The only difference would be, the ordinary French would get hordes of wild murderers and rapists right in their dying country, while ordinary Chinese would not.

Based on what I saw over the years in many countries, not only Germany and Sweden, but most of Western Europe is doomed, largely because of widespread cuckery of their brainwashed populace. Italy might be an exception: Italians tend to disregard the rules, so the EU bureaucrats cannot do as much damage there as elsewhere. My recent experience: fruits and veggies used to be great in both Spain and Italy ten years ago. They were still great in Italy in 2018, whereas in Spain in 2017 everything was as crappy as in the US. There were a lot fewer savages in Naples in 2018 than in Valencia in 2017 or in Barcelona in 2019.

Most of Eastern Europe and Russia will survive, precisely because cuckery and other PC BS is not popular in those parts. Wild invaders don’t get any freebies there, so they don’t want to go to those countries. If the hordes of savages bypass you, you survive. It’s as simple as that.

  393. Philip Owen says

I am watching a 2016 interview with Julia Joffe (almost two hours long). I have only come across her in small chunks previously. She really has Putin’s number with real accuracy, so far as facts are available.

I have not understood Navalny before. He never seemed worth the attention. N was not an anticorruption activist who went political. He was politically ambitious and used anti-c as a tool. He has a plan not a cause. A spark to light a bonfire from the nationalist right.

This is like letting fires burn. The longer you hold back the fires, the bigger the final fire. Still 30 minutes to go.

I too am a disillusioned Putin supporter. He needed to quit in 2008.

  394. How can you take anything Julia says seriously? Every other statement she makes is clowny Putin derangement syndrome nonsense, typical of Jewish Russia “experts”
Especially ones that were “fleeing anti-Semitism of the Soviet Union”

  395. He wants to believe.

  396. I am watching a 2016 interview with Julia Joffe (almost two hours long). I have only come across her in small chunks previously. She really has Putin’s number with real accuracy, so far as facts are available.

Imagine that. A Brit who hates British independence from the EU as much as Philip Owen ends up love love loving Julia Ioffe’s takes on Russia. It’s almost as if he hates sovereign nation-states.

    German elections:

The patriotic AfD got 28% in today’s election in Saxony. OK, they didn’t finish first, but they only got 10% in the last Saxony state election five years ago so this is a big improvement.

In Brandenburg the AfD nearly doubled its vote.

The problem with Germany appears to be the spoiled, brainwashed old West Germany. East Germans seem to be more reality-based.

  397. Of course, that Julia person and others of her ilk who made anti-Russian rhetoric their remunerative business is a liar. But you are forgetting that their job is to fool the sheeple, not to convince intelligent informed people. A lot of real and pretended Jews from the USSR moved to the US and told all sorts of fairy tales about how they were persecuted, but that’s only natural: they were seeking freebies. What is less natural is that they’ve got those freebies, because dumb and ignorant Joes believed their lies. So, the key to that Julia personage job is well expressed by an American saying “there is a sucker born every minute”.

  398. German_reader says

The patriotic AfD got 28% in today’s election in Saxony.

Yes, but it won’t change anything, there’ll probably be a CDU-Greens coalition (which is also clearly the goal for the 2021 federal elections), which means even more extreme pro-“refugees” policies.
AfD actually might still rip itself apart, if its more radical members feel emboldened by the recent elections and try to take over completely. Some of those people are pretty far out there…the AfD’s top candidate in Brandenburg Kalbitz is alleged to have had contacts to genuine Neonazis as recently as 2007, when he was in his mid-30s (so not just some youthful mistake).

The problem with Germany appears to be the spoiled, brainwashed old West Germany.

That’s true, but unfortunately that’s also the part of Germany which is economically and demographically dominant. The single state of North-Rhine-Westphalia (which ought to be neutron-bombed imo) has more inhabitants than all of the former GDR.

  399. Is Kalbitz a radical member?
In an interview, he distanced himself from the German Identitarians by using establishment rhetoric against them.

    https://twitter.com/Poensgen_JK/status/1155447637266632705

  400. German_reader says

I find it difficult to believe that, the identitatians seem quite tame compared to the kind of groups he is alleged to have been involved with as late as the early-mid 2000s (Heimattreue Deutsche Jugend, which was actually banned as a Neonazi group in 2009; he also was part of a delegation to Greece’s Golden Dawn in 2007, with the NPD’s Udo Voigt part of his group).
Anyway, we’ll see. Given what’s probably going to happen in the 2020s (maybe even a Greens-CDU coalition with Habeck as chancellor) one can’t be too picky about the AfD and its politicians anyway.

  401. If you knew anything about the Singhs, you would be one.

  402. The problem is that many AfD politicians are very picky and try to sabotage others for the sake of being accepted by the hostile establishment.

I am certainly not going to vote for the AfD again as long something like publication of the anti-Höcke letter* during the electoral campaign in his state and the expulsion of the leader of the party in Schleswig-Holstein keep happening.

*which was co-signed by the AfD leader of the party in my state

  403. German_reader says

and the expulsion of the leader of the party in Schleswig-Holstein keep happening.

I don’t know, that Sayn-Wittgenstein woman was pretty nutty, iirc she was involved with actual Holocaust deniers, imo such people are a problem.
I get what you mean though, it’s futile to believe that the establishment will ever accept AfD as legitimate competition if one just plays nice and is “bürgerlich” (whatever that’s supposed to mean nowadays). The goal definitely can’t just be to recreate something like Helmut Kohl’s CDU, given what that eventually led to.

  411. Thorfi, your arguments are devolving to Balkan level
I am so proud of you!

  412. In case of 90s, nothing good that I am aware of. It is still more of a political/ideological question – notably the Cyprus money planes and embargo circumvention, smuggling and organized crime. For 2000-2012… well, just look at Beko Law abolition and foreign ownership of media, critical industries and Croat capital buying half of Serbian retail and food industry.

For both Yugoslavias, I have read the works of Slobodan Vuković – his focus is on the 1918-1992 period.

  413. Said “actual Holocaust deniers” care for the German victims of the war and more importantly were not blacklisted when Sayn-Wittgenstein was involved with them in 2014.

    https://www.compact-online.de/sayn-wittgenstein-darf-afd-mitglied-bleiben-nun-freuen-wir-uns-auf-ihren-vortrag-bei-der-compact-geschichtskonferenz/

It should not be acceptable to kick out someone for involvment with an organization when it was not blacklisted.

The AfD won’t be more than Kohl’s CDU if it keeps trying to marginalize anyone who is not as liberal-conservative as that party was.

  414. Thanks, it’s very hard to filter through all the garbage regarding the Yugo period

  419. The world is too diverse to be turned into EU. Even western Eurasia is too diverse to be turned into EU.

Not to mention the EU itself aims at becoming a sovereign nation state (“ever closer union”) and is currently first and foremost an empire of the ruling elites of the founding six of the European Project.

  420. Then how come there were wars before nation states existed, before even the concept of nationalism
There are even theories that some extinct species of cavemen only went exctinct because other species eradicated them
And supernational unions like NATO or the USSR found themselves involved in wars all the time and still do infact

Turning the entire world into an EU is an idea so laughable I’m surprised someone with it even posts here
If you said turning the world into half a dozen EUs, then at least I might’ve considered it plausible under some circumstances
    Grow up man

  421. biggest threat to civilized societies is the unholy Islamo Leftist alliance

I am not going to argue about this with respect to life on this earth. Perhaps Islam is a threat to all pagan societies. Btw, I hope that you are not including your street-Shitdia as part of those “civilised” societies. Most here would be laughing through every orifice they possess, at the absurdity of that.

That said, and leaving aside this world, how can the true monotheism of Islam, be a threat to a soul in the Hereafter? After all it is only Islam which has comprehended the truth of our Creator logically. God is One. There is no God, but God.

Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent.” Holy Quran 112

Presumably, in your opinion, the pagan polytheist man/woman/animal-gods worship of Christianity, Hindooism, etc., is the path to success in the Hereafter? Lol!

In fact, your Hindooism goes much further in its pagan pestilence on mankind… rapist deities (vishnu/tulsi episode), queer/androgynous deities (shiva/vishnu), worship of the genitalia (lingam/yoni), worship of the goddess of menses, the devil kali, etc.

    Is there anything holy here?

  422. god of fire (Agni Deva)

I say, pagan pestilences on humankind.

I pity the innocent (basically your young ones) who are thrust into this dark abyss, but for those like you, the implacable enemies of true monotheism, I can’t help but feel schadenfreude for the torment which awaits you.

  423. launch the Hindu version of reconquista to expel Muslims and reconvert them to Hinduism

Lol! Pagan scum cry about the bogus “by-the-sword” conversion of dndoos to Islam by the Mughals, etc., but you seem to have no problem the other way. You have to keep in mind, that those dndoos who fortunately converted to Islam, centuries back, must have converted to dndooism from whatever pagan pestilence was prevalent millennia before. Right?

Anyway, only utter braindead idiots would even consider converting from the true monotheism of Islam, to your pagan polytheist pestilence of a faith, which deifies rapists (vishnu/tulsi), queer/androgynous abominations (shiva/vishnu), reverence of symbols of genitalia (lingam/yoni),…

I feel dirty even thinking of these abominations, and there are people who actually believe in these abominations. Oh, man!

Seems to also be tacit admission that this guy knows things that Russia does not want to be known, and thus that Russia played some kind of role in the MH-17 downing. Otherwise, why care about the guy? So even if he doesn’t spill details to Dutch investigators (he might not have anyways) Russia still has more suspicion placed on it. And Ukraine gets back its servicemen and activists.

Good job of Ukrainian special forces for carrying out the successful operation behind enemy lines and grabbing the guy and taking him into Ukrainian custody.

  426. Good times these for Hindu nationalist.

Given the blatant evil and governing ineptness (lol!) of the ruling dispensation in that pagan cesspool, it would be worth considering that it is never prudent to count those chickens before they hatch.

The Almighty One’s will is mysterious indeed. It may quite turn out that your exultation will indeed come to pass in the near term (5years+), but there are millions of true monotheists who are fervently praying to the Almighty One that the pagan savages (given their worship of rapists (vishnu), queer/androgynous (shiva/vishnu), genitalia(lingam/yoni)…), who are gunning after true monotheists, will ultimately be utterly humiliated. InshAllah.

There is no Power or Might, except with the Almighty One. We place our faith in the Almighty One and none else. If indeed the Almighty One has willed “good times” for His enemies, for the foreseeable future (Allah(swt) forbid!), then we true monotheists will pray for His support in our perseverance.

  427. Felix Keverich says

Otherwise, why care about the guy?

Because Ukrainians have no actual Russian POWs they could offer for a trade. DNR people and domestic political prisoners – that’s all they have.

The “swap” is simply a giveaway to Zelensky, without it looking too much like a giveaway.

  428. Muslim screeching is a good sign that Modi made the correct decision

  429. Tell this to international airlines. They say nothing, but look at Flightradar24 site: all airlines avoid Ukraine, but fly over Russia. In fact, Ukraine looks like a black hole with very few flights going to or out of it, which is surrounded by thick airline traffic through Russia, Turkey, and other neighboring countries. So, they know who shot down MH17, don’t they?

The very fact that on the day this flight was shot down it was directed to fly 200 km North of its normal route tells everything. The “explanation” that there was bad weather on its regular route turned out to be a lie: weather info is public, and there was no bad weather there. MH17 could have been redirected only by those who intended to shoot it down. Neither Donbass freedom fighters nor Russia could have possibly redirected it. But the culprits did. Sapienti sat. So do the airlines.

  430. Watched an old Fu Manchu movie (circa 1932) last night.

It was really fascinating to see a mainstream film (MGM), with thematic ideas about racial and civilizational antagonism and peril. I can’t think of anything remotely similar.

During WW2, the UK made a lot of insipid, propaganda movies about Germans, but, to see any of them now, they feel very hollow and like elite-prescribed prolefeed to protect elite interests, and to drum up support for the war. Plus, they are somewhat reminiscent of today’s movies and values.

Even if the US had the same ethnic composition today, they probably wouldn’t make such a film today because they would want to sell to the Chinese market. Could they have made a similar-themed movie about Jews in 1932? Obviously impossible. What about other groups? This is one thing that is funny about it: it is a tacit acknowledgment of a rank order.

  432. Vish, you post some interesting things every now and then but this kind of stuff is beneath you
The posts of the guy you replied to are lowbrow enough to show that nothing you say will change his mind
And no one here cares enough about the Hindu-Muslim conflict to take a serious look into your post
These kinds of things just add useless clutter, like the Russo-Ukranian meme wars or the Balkan monkey dung flinging

    tl;dr Don’t get baited
Oh, and I’ve been meaning to ask you, what’s your opinion on SEA Indosphere and has there been any serious attempts to revive it (successfull or otherwise)

  433. There’s an interesting tidbit here: it says that if all Americans switched to the artificial meat, that’d be the equivalent of taking 12 million cars off the roads. The US has probably well over 200 million cars. Of course cars are a small part of carbon dioxide emissions. So it’d be inconsequential even if we all switched to it.

It’s a horrible pseudo religion whose adherents should be forcibly converted to some normal religion or shot into mass graves.

  434. Seems to also be tacit admission that this guy knows things that Russia does not want to be known, and thus that Russia played some kind of role in the MH-17 downing.

I’d like to know whether the Dutch authorities knew in advance about his release. Maybe there is more to it but on the face of it it seems like an unfriendly act by the Ukrainian government towards Europe, especially the Netherlands, and irresponsible in terms of international aviation.

  435. Vishnugupta says

Not really.Except Vietnam we do not see any significant power potential in any SEA Country.

Our present national goal is to become a second world country(Nominal Per Capita income ~10,000-15,000 USD ) and create a competent aerospace and defense industry that can produce everything except perhaps advanced jet engines and wide body aircraft in India. So far we only have respectable capabilities in terms of end products in Space launch Vehicles,Naval surface ships,Helicopters and Ballistic missiles though there have been significant progress in a lot of other areas.Even in this we are truly independent only in Space launch vehicles and Ballistic missiles our helicopters and naval ships are powered by imported/license produced engines and a lot of other components are imported.A lot of work needs to be done but I am seeing very encouraging signs of progress at the critical component level in many areas AESA Radar,X band missile seeker, minituarized naval nuclear reactor for submarines etc.

The aim is to be achieve this around the 2040-45 time frame.

India actually has a very good geographical configuration I would go far as to say second only to the United States.Right in the middle of the Eastern hemisphere with two large coasts overlooking the open ocean within unrefueled aircraft range of the world’s major trade routes, protected from Eurasia by the Himalayas.

Our strategy will be to exploit this for the forseeable future not trying to revive our pre Islamic wrecking Indosphere which stretched from Central Asia to Indonesia.

  436. Because Ukrainians have no actual Russian POWs they could offer for a trade.

They could have traded all sorts of people. But Russia specifically wanted a guy who was involved with the MH17 disaster. This makes Russia look somehow guilty.

  437. I’d like to know whether the Dutch authorities knew in advance about his release. Maybe there is more to it but on the face of it it seems like an unfriendly act by the Ukrainian government towards Europe, especially the Netherlands, and irresponsible in terms of international aviation.

I guess the Dutch aren’t happy but are not going crazy.

    Moscow Times says:

Ukrainian media have published what they say is a leaked letter from the lead investigator, Fred Westerbeke, telling Ukrainian prosecutors on Aug. 30 that Tsemakh was considered a suspect rather than a witness.

The Dutch daily NRC wrote Monday that it has confirmed the letter’s authenticity but that, according to the Dutch Public Prosecution Service, Ukraine was free to trade Tsemakh because he was “in a Ukrainian cell for a Ukrainian case.”

The Dutch hadn’t formally asked for extradition.

  438. They say nothing, but look at Flightradar24 site: all airlines avoid Ukraine, but fly over Russia.

Is this another one of your many fantasies?

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-flightpath-to-hell-mh17-wasnt-the-only-flight-in-russias-sights

It took the catastrophe of Flight MH17 to wake up the world’s airlines to the risks of flying over war zones. Dutch investigators into the crash found there were at least 160 other commercial flights flying over Ukraine that day when, in a grim version of Russian roulette, the Malaysian Boeing 777 was hit and bodies started raining from the sky.

In a report last October, Tjibbe Joustra, chairman of the Dutch Safety Board, said: “Not a single state or international organization explicitly warned of any risks to civil aviation, and not a single state prohibited its airliners from using the airspace… or imposed other restrictions.”

It turns out that assuming that the managers of airlines with long-haul routes would have a basic geopolitical intelligence system of their own and know to avoid hot spots was a dangerously false assumption. Some airlines did show that kind of foresight—British Airways, for one, had already diverted its airplanes to avoid Ukrainian air space—but most did not. (A Singapore Airlines flight was within 15 miles of MH17 at the time of the missile strike.)

Ukraine itself had issued a warning about flying over the eastern part of the country, but it only prohibited flights below 32,000 feet, based on another false assumption that the risk posed to airliners would come from shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles, MANPADS, not from a missile like the one that brought down the Malaysian airliner, which can strike at heights higher than any commercial jet can fly.

MH17 had been directed by controllers to fly at 33,000 feet, even though the pilots had asked for 35,000 feet.

Three months earlier, the Federal Aviation Administration had prudently banned U.S. carriers from flying over the Crimean Peninsula and Black Sea because there were Russian military airplanes in action there, but mainland Ukraine was not included.

Malaysia Airlines said that when its airplane was cleared to take off from Amsterdam on that fateful morning, its route had been approved by Eurocontrol, the air-traffic center responsible for all flights over Europe.

  439. Whats Indias stance on the BRI? The Pakistan thing is obvious, but I’m more interested in the potential for more trade in the Indian Ocean and if theres any plan for India to benefit from it
They recently became a member of the SCO, so they must have some interests there

  440. Philip Owen says

Half a dozen EU’s, maybe more is what I meant but the expression used was pithier. The great religions seem a place to start.

  441. This does not invalidate what I said. It only implicates Eurocontrol, as the issue of 200 km difference between normal MH17 route and the one it was told to take on the day it was shot remains. Only organizers of this provocation could have possibly rerouted it. Hence, the organizers were powerful enough to order around Eurocontrol. Does not leave many suspects left, does it?

  442. the issue of 200 km difference between normal MH17 route and the one it was told to take on the day it was shot

Is there any source for this?

    Article also notes:

Experts claimed that operators continued to fly across the zone because it was the quickest and cheapest route for some flights.

Norman Shanks, a former head of group security at the BAA airports group, said: “Malaysia Airlines, like a number of other carriers, has been continuing to use it because it is a shorter route, which means less fuel and therefore less money.”

Attacks on aircraft in the area have been rife. In the past week alone two Ukrainian military aircraft were shot down and a third was damaged by a missile.

Eurocontrol, which coordinates European air traffic control, said Ukrainian authorities had now closed all routes in the east of the country.

A spokesman for Malaysia Airlines said: “This route is an approved route. 15 out of 16 airlines use this route. It’s a safe route – most other countries use this route.

  446. Anatoly, you look a lot more like the average Iranian than the average Russki. Maybe you should open a Kavkaz chapter of the Pan-Iranist movement instead of being a Russian nationalist 😉
