Via Pumpkin Person, a rising star in the HBDsphere:
(1) Unz has overtaken Taki.
(2) The author (Pumpkin Person) would be in the top 23 if his current blog and old blog Brain Size were to be put together.
(3) I am very surprised that my old blog continues to get a lot of hits, though similarweb.com might be inflating my numbers a bit (WordPress stats show ~15K monthly monthly visitors).
(4) Robert Lindsay continues to gain ground. He’s more popular than Cochran and Harpending! Note that he is a Leftist, a bona fide Marxist, in fact, which makes him more hardcore than JayMan. There is no fundamental contradiction in combining Leftist economic views with biorealism. I strongly support his Alt Left idea.
Robert Lindsay would be great if he just unbanned me 😛
What did you do?
I just checked up on him and it seems he got rid of Afrosapiens. Never understood why he allowed him to become a coauthor in the first place.
“Readers per moth” might be a very useful metric to measure the amount of attention garnered by some old books in libraries.
Just discovered Robert Lindsay’s blog. I do enjoy reading about HBD without the corrosive mean-spiritedness you find across the Neoreactionary spectrum. It’s refreshing to see credit made where it is due to the (old) left in areas of economics, protectionism and so forth.
His simple explanation on why “game” sites like Chateau Heartiste (for all the insights they give) are mostly snake-oil salesmen (it’s logically impossible for more than the top 10% to join the top 10%) is good too.
After Republicans, most of all I hate Democrats.
Quite a few of those aren’t strictly “HBD” though…unless that now just means right-wing/reactionary (Takimag)/(white) Nationalist (Vdare)…or even sort of Nazist (Occidental observer). You’re not going to read any detailed, credible pieces about population history (like Razib Khan does here) on those sites.
“HBD” really can’t claim to be some dispassionate scientific movement if it’s understood like that…frankly, seems a bit like a fraud (and I’m saying that as someone with strong “nationalist” opinions).
If you include vdare and taki, then you should include stormfront too.
What is Steve Sailer? He’s pretty much the Founding Father of HBD but he doesn’t really do the more “science-y” type writing, either.
I called him a bum on Pumpkin Person’s blog. Kinda harsh, I know.
I think he thought having a black anti-HBDer would bring more traffic to his blog but then Afrosapiens became too much to handle.
He once did though, if I’m not mistaken…his output has changed somewhat in the last few years (maybe not for the better?).
I think his writing is still pretty great, he’s just not as quant/science focused some of the newer bloggers.
If the stats were presented as readers per article posted on these sites, Westhunter and Infoproc–each having effectively 1 part-time author–would assume preeminence.
In any case, this is a very disparate and arbitrary selection of sites. Robert Lindsay is not HBD focused, just tolerant. If he’s included, where is chateau heartiste? His numbers have to be pretty high. At least in his case there’s a better argument that he’s HBD focused–he’s certainly more than tolerant of it.
