Large-scale Bitcoin scam affecting high profile Blue Checkmark accounts, from Obama to Elon Mask. Hacker made off with something like $10 million. Even some minor circumstantial evidence that legendary Nazi troll hacker weev was behind it.
All the Blue Checkmarks have been silenced until @jack figures out what is going on.
If if it weev I expect they are going to clamp down so far because :angry-NPC-face: but it will be worth it, better to go out with a bang.

I wouldn’t overplay my hand, if it was me. If I had access to Trump’s account, I would post something like “just a couple of cheeseburgers,” and everyone would laugh at the president tweeting his lunch order. They would laugh again if he got on Twitter and claimed that he was hacked.
For Obama, I would go for “sexy hermaphodites,” given the right-wing belief (probably true, IMO) about his wife. Biden would be “Where am I?” etc.

Amusing news coverage – as you will know, the RTM program was a network worm not a virus, which replicated out of control, slowing machines down to a crawl and it would re-infect machines on the internet.
A more interesting “Russian hacking” angle would be ‘Hagbard Celine’, the West German anarchist cracker Markus Hess, who worked for GDR State security and KGB in the middle-eighties penetrating European and American networks and stealing software for the communists. He was discovered by the American astronomer (turned sysadmin) Clifford Stoll roaming around on his network and he was traced back to Germany. Stoll wrote the book ‘Cuckoo’s Egg’ about it, and also appeared on t.v.
Well, he doesn’t represent the vast majority of American people (most Americans can barely find Russia on the map), but he is allowed on Twitter so that he can keep shifting the overtone window for the elites, that is true. I mean, he thinks Samantha Power sucks because she is not anti-Russian enough.
Its kinda like BLM/ANTIFA movement. The overtone window started with – “emotional safety of the oppressed minorities and women must be top priority at elite institutions and power centers”. We are now at “cancel white people for what they say because words are violence” stage. We will logically arrive at “white race is violence” fairly soon now, so if you want to stay in power as an elite, you will have to be an insecure neurotic minority or a white woman.
Incidentally, those people make very good puppets. I’m sure its just a coincidence. There’s this term, solipsism, its like a worldview that treats external reality as not real, but rather a construct of the mind processed through raw emotions. The only things that matter are those that make you feel the moment, past and future is irrelevant. Only self is certain.
Those kinds of people are being groomed into the elite and power, by the looks of it. Those kinds of people will also start a nuclear war easily because Russia is not real, only bad feelings about Russia are real. And if nukes is the way to get rid of bad feelings and guarantee emotional safety, then nuke away. This is also why all the corporations love and support them – if a product makes you feel emotionally safe, they will gobble it up, price, quality, or even real world exploitation be damned. As long as you have good PR management, it’s a guaranteed profit.
Anyway, this is why I would advise Russia to buckle up – even if thermonuclear war is not imminent, sanctions will be certain. Russia is ‘bad feelings’, and passing sanctions grants cathartic release. Its an emotional thing, not a rational one.

So much of America’s cultural output is fantasies about killing Russians and elaborate theories about Russian malefactors causing American misery. The thing that comes through from Twitter and Facebook is that so many Americans feel personally wronged by Russia and Russians in general. I suspect that while at an intellectual level Americans know Red Dawn was just a movie, in their subconsciousness they remember it as a real event that they lived through. Now that Americans have convinced themselves that Russia is the leader of a global white supremacist axis, their newly-woke military forces will soon be baying for Russian blood.
America and Americans have decided that is their world mission to wage war on racism and white supremacy. With the patterns of thought they’ve fallen into, the only way current trends don’t end in war with Russia is if internal conflict cripples America first (less and less likely with the increasing demoralisation of the right).
It’s definitely something that is incessantly biggened by Press&Pols. (Just today: COVID-19: ‘Putin Hacked Our Vaccine’ Is Dumbest Story Yet … it’s going to lead to extreme fatigue.) A quick survey of American Boomer Facebook and Twitter confirms that the common man can get very heated indeed about cruelty to sodomites in some place he’s never heard of. It isn’t very important what the casus belli is, because the American mind is a fluid body of inexhaustible malice and can be poured into any container you please.
In any event, Americans are currently convincing themselves that Russians are already killing them at home and abroad. The Propornot twitter account is now claiming that Russia has killed 150,000 Americans with the Coronavirus, so this particular accusation is now all but officially-sanctioned.
There is no reason to think these trends will not continue.
