Personally I don’t have a high opinion of Trump, but Sweden seems pretty horrible from what one reads…unfortunately my own country seems to be morphing into a larger version of Sweden…depressing.

You are making wrong comparisons. Compare Mexico with Turkey. Some years ago I even considered about spending winters there (90 days are quite enough). Now, with Sultan Erdogan, >2 million Syrian refugees and regular terror attacks, wintering there does not look so attractive.
Also Lebanon and Jordan. As well as Syria and Libya before wars. Overall, the Muslim Eastern Mediterranean from Smyrna to Alexandria (bar Gaza and Palestine) has always looked like the most decent region of the whole Arabic world. Tunisia is not too bad as well. I would prefer Tunisia over Honduras, Chihuahua or Caracas.

According to their statistics in 2016 33% of foreigners were from the EU, 11% from other Europe (both total 44% or >790k), 33% (550k) from Muslim countries, 9% from Sub-Saharan Africa, 9% from Asia and 7% others (including America). Russians and Americans were 20k each (for Russians 2/3 were obviously Russian wives, making just under 7k real independent immigrants). Consider yourself if 5% of Muslims are a real problem. But knowing the shortage of mosques in Moskvabad is a real problem I wouldn’t worry for Sweden much.
