Iceland Frees the Banksters Days after Panama Leaks

Tiny Iceland once astounded the world by being the only county to send its banksters to jail and repudiating the debts taken on by the citizenry they hoodwinked.

As a result, there were no significant drops in living standards, whereas Greece, which adopted the opposite policies, got stuck in a grinding depression that continues to this date.

Days after USAID/Soros- oh sorry I meant “people power” essentially mounted a coup against the Icelandic government… they free all the banksters!!

And then, minutes later, the Panama Papers were disclosed by the ICIJ, which had a clear target: to “expose” the “circle of friends close to Putin”, and of course, to reveal the dirty laundry of the Iceland Prime Minister, who resigned just two days after his shady offshore tax dealing were revealed to the world.

There was some “conspiratorial” speculation whether the explicit hit on ex-PM Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson was precisely due to Iceland’s crackdown on the country’s criminal bankers. As a reminder, Iceland is the only nation that sent bankers found guilty of crimes resulting from the financial crisis, to prison.

It turns out there may have been something valid in said speculation, because moments ago, Iceland Monitor reported that three bankers from the defunct Iceland bank Kaupthing are to be released from jail today – after serving just one year of their 5-year sentences.

Magnús Guðmundsson, Ólafur Ólafsson and Sigurður Einarsson were one of four men jailed in 2015 in the so-called ‘Al-Thani case’ on charges of breach of trust and market abuse.

Sigurður Einarsson, former chairman at Kaupþing, received a sentence of four years, while Magnús Guðmundsson, former CEO of Kaupthing Luxembourg, and Ólafur Ólafsson, who was the bank’s second largest shareholder at the time, both received a sentence of four and a half years.

Long live people power! Heil Soros!

Conspiratards were right as usual.

Time for the Icelanders to start importing a lot of rope

  2. “Mission accomplished,” Panama Papers.

Iceland has committed a lot of antisemite crimes lately. It has boycotted Israeli good, jailed several bankers from the Wall Street, and 5,000 Icelanders announced to accept Muslim refugees.

In September 2015, the Zionist regime blasted Iceland for the boycott of its products by country’s capital city council over the Jewish occupation of Palestinian territories, describing it as a volcano of hatred.

“A volcano of hatred is erupting in Reykjavik city council. Without any reason and justification beside pure hatred, calls are being issued to boycott the state of Israel,” whined Jewish foreign ministry spokesperson Emmanuel Nahshon.

The European Union has called for the boycott of Jewish products produced in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. The United Nations calls Jewish settlements illegal in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel in June 1967, formerly administered by Jordanian ‘royals’.

The LA-based Jewish lobby group, ‘Simon Wiesenthal Center’ issued a travelling warning for Jews wishing to visit Reykjavik. Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the head of the group said that while Iceland was a popular destination with Jews and Israelis, “when the elected leaders of its main city passes an extreme anti-Israel and antisemitic law, we would caution any member of Jewish community about travelling there.”

I wonder if the good rabbi knows that the First Lady of Iceland, Dorrit Moussaieff is an Israeli Jew.

The latest conspiracy theory – from some guy at the Brookings Institute – is that Putin organised the leak:

“[M]y thinking is that [the Panama Papers leak] could have been a Russian intelligence operation, which orchestrated a high-profile leak and established total credibility by “implicating” (not really implicating) Russia and keeping the source hidden. Some documents would be used for anti-corruption campaigns in a few countries—topple some minor regimes, destroy a few careers and fortunes. By then blackmailing the real targets in the United States and elsewhere (individuals not in the current leak), the Russian puppet masters get “kontrol” and influence.”

  4. The latest conspiracy theory – from some guy at the Brookings Institute – is that Putin organised the leak …

Well, well! It looks like this whole pathetic Soros psy-op has now backfired so spectacularly that there’s nothing left for them to do other than blame Russia for it. I can just hear it now: ‘Putin is weaponizing our Panamanian shell-companies! We need more sanctions–NOW!!! Poroshenko needs more tanks–NOW!!! Latvia needs another F-15–NOW!!!’

    Putin wins again …

You forgot to note that Putin is a former KGB guy. I wouldn’t put it past him. 😉

  6. British media campaign against Putin

A couple of years ago, especially during the Pussy Riot agitprop, the cry of Russophobia was justified from the Russian side. Now Russophobia is as laughable as Islamophobia, homophobia, and racism accusations.

World leaders react to the Panama Papers
